yeah! It's supposed to look like that! cool. It's about 110 years old and I was told when I bought it that violins that look like that are from germany and went through the whole nazi era. and that when nazi's were burning books and art and music etc., violin makers painted their instruments black to make it look like they were already burnt. My violin is named dobby cause it looks like a doberman pinscher I guess. congratulation on your purchase! it's nice to have your own isn't it?
