I sense nothing but sincerity from this man. I HOPE he had managed to send one copy of his book to Paul McCartney by now! It was probably one of the happiest time in the Fab Four's career - and I am just GLAD somebody captured it in camera, with no intent to commercialize at the time.
you idiots!!goerge harrison apoligised to maharishi for the crap, there was a journalist with the beatles in india,he was more of a groupie than anything else,he spread rumours when the beetles were not paying him enough attention as they were naturally preocupied with maharishi!paul macartney is doing a benifit concert to raise money to teach a million kids tm
Information regarding the rift between the Maharishi and the Beatles can be found in Cynthia Lennon's autobiography 'A Twist of Lennon', and in Mia Farrow's autobiography (I think it's called 'Things Fall Apart'). Mia is historically the woman who was harassed by the Maharishi, and she goes into detail about this period of her life. It's very interesting for Beatle fans to read someone else's account of this time at the ashram. BTW, the Maharishi passed away recently.
my gurudev,NOT THE MAHARISHI,knew george and the rest of the beatles and he had a dream where john lennon came to him and took him to a big beautiful mansion and my spiritual master could understand because he grew up in the place where he took him, calcutta, and said that the mansion was owned previously by a very famous and charitable indian musician and in fact john was that famous musician in his previous birth.hare krsna
Beautiful pictures, wonderful story and it comes absolutely across, that this was a very very special time for all of them.
Why then later these sexual asault stories which also still stick in my mind?? Even if the Maharishi threw them out because of drugs - why would they start such nasty rumours?? Anyone knows reliable sources about that?
i read a story, (so this is hearsay about hearsay ) that one of the Beatles hangers on, who also supplied their pot and so on, invented the story to get them out of there, as his future was challenged by a Beatles without drugs. All other accounts that I have read of the Maharishi, by those close to him, say that nookie was the farthest thing from his mind. I do not know why Mia Farrow does not come forward and clarify this.
This is a beautiful story, a beautiful man, a beautiful group, a beautiful book and far from least, a beautiful meditation teacher. What is there to complain about? Thank You Mr. Saltzman! Does anyone know where I can inquire about the book's availablity and price? I probably can't afford a copy but I'd like to learn more.
Maharishi abused children, and the beatles went home hastily when John caught him trying to seduce some of the female members of the party. The song "Sexy Sadie" was originally called "Maharishi" but they changed the name of the song to avoid complications
I knew Maharishi and I know you did not. Nothing could be further from the truth than what you have said. Gossip of the nature you wield poisons innocent hearts and minds and furthers the decay of already poisoned hearts and minds.
It's really unfortunate that we are crazy about these celebrities. These artists have talent in general, no doubt about that, what they bring in our life is chaos. They want to be rebalious and stir the society.I really don't know how many problems these people have solved by being rebalious and is they were rebalious and had ability to change the world, probably there own life would have been more happier but its not.
they rebelled against issues in society that needed to change. There were many issues of inequality between race and sex for a start, plus they were kind of responsible for introducing religious pluralism to the mainstream.I mean your kidding right, what about the Vietnam war and conscription. They were rebelling against compacency and hipocracy.
quit trying to sound intelligent and get your grammer on track first. also learn to spell a word before saying it several times making yourself just look foolish.
According to a recent Deepak Chopra interview, he and friend George Harrison met with Maharishi in Vloodrop, Holland in 1991. Maharishi asked George to tell Deepak the story of why the Beatles left the ashram in India under clouded circumstances. George told Deepak that the Beatles were taking drugs while there. Maharishi found out about it--after Ringo and Paul had already left--and he told George and John to leave.

The Beatles certainly never brought chaos into my life. As for rebellion, I'm thinking maybe you don't actually know that much about the sixties... ?
