I bought the vinyl of this album in about 1981. It was (and still is) one of the best produced, engineered and sounding rock albums of all time. The vinyl, in particular, was wonderfully mastered as well. Thunderous and clear, like this vid. Later CD copies, while good, lost much of the pop and pop, particularly, from the bass and vocals..
I am happy to find this song at last!! I remember being a kid with a high fever and hearing this on my little radio. I loved it and was able to take my mind off my sickness and float into their music!! Excellent song!!!
i love this song! way ahead of it's time!definitely influenced a lot of bands like cheap trick, sparks, sweet, slade, and me! it's too bad they never really made it big in the states. classic power pop!
I think the original version is better, but it is easier to understand the words in this one. The long instrumental part is pretty good, but it could just have easily been done as a seperate song. It's mostly Bach's Cantata 147 anyway.
I really like this revisited version better than the fantastic original...such a creative way to rehash the song with the initial narrative, to boot...
First half of the song is great. I could do without second half which sounds dated and a bit pompous. Once thing for sure, they don't make 'em like this anymore.
Don't think this version of the band ever played in the USA. But what a powerhouse trio plus Carl they were. RIP Carl Wayne, one of the best vocalists from that era and this era too! Hey Roy! Make up with Bev and play some shows together!!
Just listening to the beggining of this song I think that it was the insperation for Queensryke, Opereation Mindcrime.

@markpetersound Rick Price is credited with the bass. Ace had long gone by the time this album was cut.

I recommend to this track to everyone who like pop- music. At first it seems to be difficult. But at three times you understand
this and Shazam is pop/ rock- art- rock !
