corporate controlled politics and media. personal freedoms like gay marriage in danger. education cuts go through, pork earmarks remain intact. hate on every channel. media helps promote erroneous ideas like your president is a socialist. The right robs freedoms, the left empower corporations, the tea party wants to eradicate education funding and medicare for the elderly. Who is left to make rational decisions in the best interests of ALL americans?
in aligning with the corporate wish and allowing money to be used as free speech means also that a percentage of our free speech is taxed away from our labor with each paycheck. In other words income tax stifles free speech, according to this decision.
Please search on YoutTube for Corporations Aren't People. There is a viral video to raise voices about this issue. There is $200 first prize award. This video is FANTASTIC. I am feeling at lost and seeing and hearing this videos give me HOPE.
I wonder how many people in this nation realize just what tremendous power a corporate world has over our daily lives?
They are involved in every aspect of it, don't kid yourself. They have been able to extend their power, unchecked, so they can get the laws and regulations passed that benefit them and not the people of this nation. This is suppose to be a government "of the people-by the people- and for the people" but corporate power has overtaken the people's power
This issue is so important because it affects the fair debate of all other issues. Greedy Corporations now only need to threaten elected officials with millions against re-election. The SCOTUS decision is Viagra (tm) for political corruption and severely weakens our democracy. Any idiot can see how this situation is so grave and horrible for the future of America.

First mistake: Listening to NPR. There are better causes than to be "pumped up" by people like Michael Moore. You'll be used and abused like Cindy Sheehan.
@rodbuzz This issue isn't about left-wing v.s. right wing or Dems v.s. Repubs. It's about big corporate money v.s. individuals, it's fighting the Supreme's decision to allow unlimited corporate (or any rich person) spending, without oversight. Both sides take corp money, but there used to be limits on how much they could spend, and the amounts had to be disclosed. Now, with no limits or reporting, the rich (individs, corps & foreign corps and governments) can buy our representatives.

I didn't watch the video yet, but "Making a Movement" is a really funny title. Sounds like a video about constipation.

And greedy billionaires now only need to threaten elected officials with millions against re-election.
That hasn't stopped the First Amendment from applying to them.

That's a risk I'm willing to take in order to look my daughter in the face in twenty years and say, "I tried."
