Watching this makes me very glad to be tall and skinny. It may make fitting in a boat harder, but being tall and skinny allows me to get my paddle blade all the way out of the water when I roll, and that surface tension means I can roll much more easily and quicker than I normally would. w00t.
Yo, ive see you call the shotgun roll an extended paddle roll, its correct of course but remember there is more than 1 extended paddle roll, another would be the pawlatta roll!
the shotgun roll is very like the palati roll but a bit more orqward. i would recomend a straight roll or the palati which is where you grab the end of the paddle give more reach. mcuh more practical for people who cannot do straight rolling. p.s you need to feel for the surface in your straight. good video though i may have to make one.
no offence but i really dont see the point in learning the shotgun roll, maybe if you sea kayak but otherwise on a river upside down, in the rapids you're not ging to get the chance to set that roll up. i know loads of people learn it at the start but iv known people to get attached and not be able to do a proper roll. Thats just my opinion on it. otherwise its a good vid! keep it up!
so do perception boats seem harder to roll then others? I have a full tilt and havnt paddled any other perception boats, but the jackson kayaks i fit into, a dagger juice, and even the airhead which i heard was an absolute bitch to roll all seemed much easier then the full tilt.
by the way the full tilt is an awsome boat if anyone was interested.

Isn't that 'shotgun' roll just a Pawlata roll?
