  • A 427 is a small block, just saying.

  • @jdog942 - Yes, you're right, there is a 427 small block. In fact, both Chevy and Ford make a small block with a cubic inch displacement of 427. This chevy big block in the video is a 427 too. Fascinating isn't it?

  • shhh, keep it down youll scare the ricers away

  • Beautiful!! Wat is it in? Couldnt tell by lookin at the frame

  • perfect.!!!!!

  • well hes got the heart down and as for bad chevy comment i dont think it matters he didint run the engine for more that 1 min and a half, im sure as long as hes got oil in it wich im sure he does it dont matter its not like hes redlining it its not even hitting a 1000 rpm for longer than a second

  • Why would you start it without the radiator attached???

  • .... I can wait untill I drop my 427 in my 57 chevy pickup... All I need is a job for project money... But can't get one, at least I have the easy part done, I have the truck and the engine.

  • So I bought a 79 vette in a few months ago that needs a lot of work. You can see it in my videos. Anyway, a guy I work with who races mud trucks said his friend is in need of some quick money and has another 79 vette and asked if I would like it for parts. Then he mentioned it already has a 427 in it and he said the body is in perfect condition. I think you just helped me decide. I am going to be the proud owner of two 79's. Pending a good once over by me of course.

  • buetiful engine i wanna get a 69 stang and drop 1 of these in it

  • haha good luck im not so sure it would fit in the bay without cutting

  • i just came right in my jeans!!!!!!!

  • this song give me a erection in my pants dude ty :P

  • Thats a nice engine stand!!

  • I really like this clip

  • is this vid after your cam break in? i am just wondering.. but is looks and sounds great man. good work!! i love that open header sound. makes you proud of your work lol. also just wondering, are those hedman headers?

  • nice engine. I want to put one in my chevy pickup.

  • what kind of car is this big block going into

  • 1978 Buick Skylark

  • Nice running Chevy! I like the ford side oiler 427 more, but I'm a Ford guy - what can I say? What compression ratio are you running? Sounding good!

  • For some reason the 427 has a distinctive tone..

  • It has a shorter stroke than the 454. I think this is why you get such quick throttle response.

  • what a beautiful... awesome sound !

  • I have seen a couple systems that have 5" tube redirected almost like a cold air intake. But if the builder was smart they would just install a cowl induction system for time and money reasons.

  • hemi has spark plugs in the middle of the valve cover and wtf are u talking about the air filter location.

  • To be honest I was very surprised to get this message.

The 426 hemi has the destributer located on the front of the block at an angle, the color is typically up to the builder, and the carborator is always installed on the intake manifold unless it's fuel injected. As for the air cleaner, your right. The air cleaner can be placed anywhere based on the set you wish to have.

The color I used was a chevy orange typically found in any auto parts store.

  • wow im only 16, and i knew that was a chevy wright when i saw it. hay notanova nice engine and sounds great

  • wow god has once again blessed us with someone that doesnt know JACK FUCKIN SHIT about what they are talkin about.

  • This is absolutely without a doubt the dumbest person I have ever seen on YT. And I have read alot of comments!

  • you sir are the dumbest person on youtube

  • @leedwolf ummm are u kidding i sure hope so..........

  • you sir are absolutly an american. for that i thank you. i personally have a 450hp 383 in my '90 chevy that shit is the shit. well yours to more so than mine, but you got to love them both.

  • Thanks, that 383 will move you very well! I have had SBC's in a lot of my cars. Its incredible the torque ratio from a BBC to a SBC. Where are you from?

  • Rhode Island how about you?

  • its a guzzler but it awesome nice men

  • i love the agressive tone in your engine, nice work!

  • Gas Guzzlers Rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Gas Guzzlers Rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice Man, i have one, what cam are you running?

  • Thanks, There is a 555 lift cam. Im sure on the duration. The guy I bought it from already had the cam installed and the manifold on. All he told me was the lift size. Not much bigger than stock.

  • dear lord

  • Nice. I never knew how big the engine was though. Would be nice if it would fit in my blazer =P

  • Anything can fit in anything. I have a 1980 Toyota Pick-up. I went ahead and installed a 350SB. I had to reconfigure the fire wall a hair and relocate the radiator but it fits. On a typical SB to BB conversion the heater core most of the time has to be fliped to accomidate the block. I dont think it would be very hard to put a BB in blazer.

  • Well 350's will fit for sure but i was thinking bigger. I seen a nova in chevy high performance with a 522 pulling 1,035hp on pure engine...so yea,i'd love a 522 but i don't see how that would fit. The 350's ive seen seem to be pushing it on space.

  • I was using the 350 as an example. But you can put anything in anything. You just have to figure an efficient layout for the cooling system; the more custom work done to the car or truck than the better. All that means is its more "your" design than anyone else. I have no doubt in my mind you can fit a 572 in your blazer. Just think about the recognition you'd get for successfully designed and built that size engine to fit in a blazer. Hell yeah.

  • all small blocks are the same size/weight as any other small block

    vice versa.

all big blocks are the same size/weight as any other big block...

Only difference is internal bore & stroke & bore spacing on sbc vs. bbc.

Also I have a 500 hp 333" motor that gets 17mpg, not all motors that make decent power are guzzlers, proper tuning gets you that.
