  • they are not praising God as the commenter said, more like the other side

  • the most aberrant people in the world are the psychiatrists. the reality of this religion is completely different. some media programs confused people. research by yourself and do not permit to wash your brain!

  • this video does not represent ayahuaca properly

  • This documentary is unfaithfull to the reality of the Santo Daime religion, the Ayahuasca shamanic practices and to the very effects of DMT itself. Real literature on the subject by respectable authors can be found both on the internet and bookstores (chain bookstores have them) as well as much better made documentaries that sport unbiased opinions and honest editing (some available on youtube). I recommend disregarding and disencouraging pieces of media such as this.

  • perhaps the members of the santo daime church should make the sound effects of this video. i think it will be truer to its message than the sounds made by the producers, who most likely have an agenda

  • the dude at 0:33 looks like john mayer

  • I'me interested in the other two movies to, but cant see them does anyone know how to? it is blocked in belgium because it is from national geographic....

  • Yagé is not addictive. On the contrary it helps you to get free of addictions. I had a very strong drug habit problem and the experience with ayahuaska helped me to leave all those. It also helped me to be a more loving and kind person with my family, my friends and all the people surrounding me. The days after the experience you feel full of strenght and determination for improving your way of living and for leavibg behind all the things taht keep you stuck, atachments, fears, bad habits, etc.

  • The only effect that is common for most of the people is vomiting, because youre cleaning body, mind and heart. When you´re pure enough, or ready enough maybe you have visions of animals, or the jungle, but there´s not a general effect like with other drugs. DMT is just one of the many components tha Yage has, because Taitas mix different kinds of plants according to thier knowledge and their tradition. It helps you to be a better human being and to find wich is the best path for connecting God.

  • I´ve taken Yage seven times with a very respectful Taita, a very old and wise man. The effect is not the same for all people. Some people fall asleep, others have visions, others do´nt see anything. I think is an intelligent substance because it only shows you what you´re ready to see. In my case it gave me strength and conviction to continue practicing Budhism. I´ve seen people who find Christ, other find Krishna. Yagé shows you which is the best path for you, because we´re all different.

  • Ayahuasca (Yagé) first of all is a medicine. It is for healing body, mind and heart. It helps you to be a better human being. Taking Yagé is not like taking a drug for recreation. It is not easy because you have to face up with your demons and purify yourself from anger, hate, envy, lust. That´s the reason why you vomit during this ceremonies: because youre cleaning yourself from all the things that don´t let you be an instrument of God´s love. After the ceremony you feel clean and full of love

  • Thank you for uploading, I just really don't like the Taboo sensationalism with the dark sound effect like "OH look at these guys they are doing DRUGS!!! SCARY!!!!" haha ;) its just the silly way the producers attract the curiosity of people on TV.

  • en ningun lado veo que se trate de una iglesia cristiana, pero en fin esta mas bien me parece una secta

  • I have not taken ayahuasca, but I have taken DMT. Hence I found this documentary to be a bit sensationalistic, but then what documentary about illegal drugs isn't? I'm sort of surprised that they made it at all.

One profound mistake, though, NG. Ayahuasca is hardly a "narcotic." It certainly doesn't induce sleep!

  • @friendlier

I took ayahuasca in Iquitos and it induces sleep. actually, part of the trip is called "ayahuasca dreams" because you fall sleep (medically speeking). The thing is you don't notice when you're asleep or not.

Ayahuasca is also prepared with other plants that maximize the effect.

NO ENBIAGEIS CON VINO ANTES EMBIAGATE DEL ESPIRITU SANTO POR Q EL VINO ANULA EL DICERNIMIENTO Y NUBLA LA RAZOM PERO NO ME SORPRENDE LO Q PUEDA VER POR Q ESTAMOS EN EL FINAL D LOS DIAS JESUCRISTO PRONTO VIENE A JUZGAR A CDA UNO SEGUN SUS OBRAS APOC22:12 a 15

  • santo daime is maybe not for everyone. but using it in a ritual it can help to heal and to clarify in an incredible efficient manner. it can also shows the nature of god and of life.

  • Comment removed

  • it is not a drug, its a medicine

  • national geographic . . sensationalism . . media . . and ok if one understands the context and content . .

so thank you NG . . good start . . keep researching and see

  • "It's so potent it can make those who consume it violently ill within minutes." Kind of like what? Beer maybe?

This was poor journalism, factually incorrect and a bit sensationalized for effect. Not at all an accurate picture.

"... considered a dangerous narcotic in many countries." Or, more factually-- claiming more and more legality in growing numbers of countries under religious freedom acts and codiciles, not unlike peyote in the Native American Church.

Get the facts on this elsewhere

  • @hyphenate23 This documentary of natgeo filmakers shows how they are usually prejudiced for anything that is not following the particular christian beleifs of the owners and directors of National Geographic Society. The medical discrediting of the doctors that are interviewed here just atests that they dont approve of ayahuasca and their followers. NatGeos owners just want the whole world to live, beleive, praise and worship the american way of life, drink cocacolla, eat mcdonalds, etc.lol.
