  • May be beautiful words, but the song is pretty boring.

  • I would love to hear a song written by her and Brooke Fraser

  • 3 fave songs: Winter Snow How Great Is Our God? Jesus, name above all names.

  • love love love.

  • So beautiful....

  • one of my friends sang this for Christmas Eve service and it was absolutely gorgeous and I now count it among one of my favorite songs

  • what an absolutely beautiful song. i was so pleased to find this on Chris Tomlin's album "Glory in the Highest."

  • no way all of the people arguing wrote it while listening to the song. It's too beautiful to warrant such callous comments. I don't agree with pope infallibility or Mary being Mother of God but to bring such negativity to this song is unnecessary. Leave it to message boards or videos specifically about debate. We are the church, not churches.

  • Playing on a 76 key Kurzweil K2600 too....feel how warm that piano feels mmmmm. Play this song in Barrow Alaska on Christmas eve facing the arctic ocean at night.....

  • i'm singing this at my church on christmas eve :)

  • im going to break the replay button

  • saw her do this live at the joy fm 25th bday show and she sounded exactly like this. When I started lisening to the lyrics my soul was stirred thinking about how true it is that yahshua could have come to earth with all his might and glory, but instead he was gentle as a lamb so that we could live.

  • "Holy Communion" IS the Body And Blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus said " This IS my body" not, " This is a symbol of My body."

  • @1279jjohn he said do this in remembrance of me but really why even argue this. its so petty to continue this argument. why does it matter. this is a beautiful song being eclipsed by pointless arguing. let the song live not petty denominational discrepancies.

  • @1279jjohn

Jesus goes on to point out that "flesh can only give birth to flesh." BUT "spirit gives birth to spirit." Literally consuming the flesh and blood of Christ is a physical act. Taking the elements in remembrance of him is an outward sign of a spiritual attitude of accepting Christ as the savior and cleanser of sin, acknowledging and accepting that what he did on the cross is all we need for salvation.

  • So sad to find a biggot putting hate comments on such a beautiful song. Even a self proclaimed christian can do the devils work

  • No matter what denomination, to taint this beautiful video with comments that don't promote love, only self seeking bitter comments that put others down is not helpful to the Kingdom. if you believe the Bible you believe you will be judged for every careless word. Go outside and love on someone. Help someone in need instead of sitting at home bashing each other on YouTube if you want to be a " real" Christian.

  • @gracegivengrace

As a fellow Christian, and a follower of Christ, I would like to request that you please refrain from such anger-breeding comments. By no means is calling a catholic not a Christian going to bring them any closer to God. And also, I would like to know why you feel Catholics need saving. Who is to say that they don't have a personal, intimate relationship with God? I know I can't be a judge of that, and even if you might be right, by saying such things, you are not bringing Cat

  • I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:6-9

  • @GraceGivenGrace could you please just go away? there's plenty of other places that are more appropriate for Catholic bashing. if your intention is to lead Catholics away from the faith, this really doesn't help the cause. how about just reserve comments for a video of a song to be a little more directly related to the video than your personal agendas.

  • @ddrandguitar03 "Holy Communion is the shortest and safest way to Heaven." -- Pope St. Pius X

    Oh really?

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

"For by GRACE are ye saved through FAITH; and that NOT of yourselves: it is the GIFT of GOD: NOT of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 (King James Version)

  • @HaslarHouse Sorry, dude... she's married. =)

  • I remember her when she was on! I have wondered what her name was until now... I remembered how she said she had a "winter song" and it wasn't really a "Christmas song", and talked about when she wrote it. Then she said something about it being very cold and considering lighting Tibetan Monks on fire to keep warm! I lol'ed on that one for days!

Now i have seen her. I am ready to propose. Where are you Audrey Assad?

  • I do know what Catholics believe, and I've found an article that shows the out right contradictions between Roman Catholics and TRUE Christianity. I can't post a link here but if anyone's interested message me and I'll be glad to give you the link.

I know a lot of times Catholics are called "Christians" so someone might be confused and see no difference, when they are actually comparing a Catholic to a Catholic. Please read the true Bible (KJV) and ask the Lord to reveal the truth to you.

  • @GraceGivenGrace

riiight. Your basing your knowledge of what "Catholics believe" on an article.

Please no one one listen this guy/chick

  • @Aphoresis No I am not only basing my knowledge of what Catholics believe on one article. I just meant that since posting here I have found an article, but I've watched documentaries, read other articles, and heard from others who have been to Catholic churches (attended the mass, etc.). Catholic's beliefs are totally contrary to God's word. For example they believe that you must do something ("good works") to gain salvation, when the Bible teaches that salvation is a free gift (read Romans 5).

  • @GraceGivenGrace

if we could have lived the way we want (live by killing, adultury) and still go to heaven by just believeing Jesus is lord then things would have been easieryes salvation is a free gift but it doesnt mean we can live the way we want. Then we could have lived without even thinking of the 10 commandments? There was no need for God to give it... Salvation is a free gift from God, not because we do anything...but that dosent mean we can continue to live in sin and claim we r saved

  • @GraceGivenGrace nice name, by the way. have you read matthew 25-31-46? Have you read what the catechism of the cathlic church says about grace? works? Having been a protestant for 35 years, and catholic for now almost 4, it appears that most protestants are happy to be mis-informed about what the catholic church teaches. Are you?

  • @josemaria6688

It amazes me that you would choose to believe in a God that isn't even big enough or loving enough to extend grace to his children. Purgatory is a slap in the face of THE God. God is bigger than any sin. Mortal and Venial. Or whatever it is you call them. Purgatory says to God that "The death of Christ was only enough for SOME sins, but not all. Good try God, but we can take it from here."

  • "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." John 5:39 Please, don't just come on here to argue, especially if you don't have any knowledge of what you are talking about. Catholics are absolutely NOT Christians! If you believe they are, you are deceived. Read the Bible, I'm not just telling you what I think, it is all there in God's word. Salvation is a FREE gift, you cannot work for it (Ephesians 2:8-9).

  • @periechontology Mary is more than a "vehicle". I assume you don't have kids . I have 2. My wife is SO much more than a "vehicle", frankly any woman would be shocked to hear that. My wife's bond with my children is stronger than mine. Due largely to the fact that their lives began and were sustained in her womb. Christ took on our humanity, and entered our world exactly as we did. Our savior had a mother, not a "vehicle".

  • @del4830

Your wife did not give birth to the Son of God, irrelevant comparison.

  • @Aphoresis

Wrong. My point, perhaps too subtle, is women are not "vehicles". Mary was not merely a vehicle through which God entered the world, just as my wife is not simply a vehicle through which my children entered the world. While it is a fact conception, gestation and birth are events that happen in and through a woman. To reduce womanhood to this fact alone is overly simplistic at best and a violation of her human dignity at worst.

  • @del4830 Well you can make that point if you like, but once again, it has nothing to do with what i was arguing since "women in general" do not give birth to the Son of God.

  • @GraceGivenGrace I admire your zeal and fidelity to scripture, however it would appear your anti-Mary bias and your go to line "where is it in scripture" have clouded you ability to think or even read a few more verses. 2000 years of Christian tradition say that Mary said "yes", but if thats not good enough then Luke 1:38, "Be it done unto me according to your word". That sounds like Mary had a choice. We all do.

  • @del4830 I am not "anti-Mary" I believe she was "highly favored and blessed among women" (Luke 1:28). Everything goes according to God's plan, there is no way Mary would have said "no" unless that was part of God's plan. In Luke 1:38, I think Mary is agreeing, not deciding.

  • @GraceGivenGrace

Are you proposing that Mary was incapable of exercising her free will? This is a far more outrageous attestation than anything a Catholic might say about Mary. It sounds like you believe that Mary's autonomy was squashed by "God's Plan". You are making the claim that Mary is the only person in human history without free will. I doubt you would argue that ALL humans have the ability to chose either to accept or deny God's plan for them. Why is Mary the exception?

  • @GraceGivenGrace

Indeed, Mary is "highly favored and blessed among women" as you state. Yet if you read further, Luke 1:43 says "And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" Elizabeth stuns us by identifying Christ as Lord while he is in Mary's womb. Equally as stunning is Elizabeth's identification of Mary as "the Mother of my Lord". That, to me seems like a wonderfully appropriate title for Mary. It affirms both Christ and Mary, by way of Christ.

  • She kinda reminds me of sarah mclachlan :)

  • SOOOO LEGIT

  • We don't worship Mary or the saints. We love them. For their witness, for their for their discipline, for their heart. They help us, by giving us a practical example of how to live a life totally devoted to Christ. I think we all know how hard that can be.

Mary, above all the saints, is first and foremost loved because of who her son is! That's it! Because she "said yes", the divine life was inside her, in the most unique and intimate way. Mary knows Christ, the way only a mother can.

  • @del4830

Mary was just the vehicle through which Christ came into the Earth.

and if you except Christ as savior, the divine life enters into you in a much more profound way than it was in Mary (atleast until the day of Pentecost when Mary received the Holy Spirit too)..

  • @del4830 "Because she said yes"....uh where do you find that in the Bible? Said "yes" to what? That she would be the one to bare Jesus? If you think she had anything to do with it and could have said no, then that's just ridiculous. Mary was told she would conceive and bare a son, not asked if she would like to. "And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS." Luke 1:31 And no where does it say Mary "knows Christ, the way only a mother can."

  • Comment removed

  • She believes lives and sings for Jesus and that's all that matters :) .. I'm not catholic but I love her music. There is no need for a wall to separate believers we might have a few differences on doctrine ... As long as she doesn't worship Mary or any saint I'm fine with that

  • @blopajmbar62 Catholics are not Christians. There is only one way to truly become a believer and that is by repenting of our sins (to God, not Mary) and believing in Him. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matthew 7:14 "

  • @GraceGivenGrace

That verse is in their Bible as well. All Catholics that trust in Christ are Christians, and "repenting" to Mary to be saved is not part of catholic orthodoxy..

  • @periechontology All Catholics that "trust in Christ" are not necessarily Christians. Trusting in Christ does not make you a Christian. Realizing you are a wicked sinner deserving Hell and then repenting of your sins and asking the Lord to save you, believing that He died on the cross in our place does, (For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21).

  • @GraceGivenGrace Who told you that you were wicked and deserving of Hell and could be made righteous by Christ? it was Christ wasn't it? So if you trust in Christ you trust what he said. They are the say them. You haggling over words.

  • @periechontology God then grants you faith and it is by grace that we are saved.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV

I'm not trying to stir up strife between people here, or argue with anyone. I just wanted to warn others who (like myself) might think Audrey Assad was really a Christian. I'm glad I looked her up after finding her, instead of getting attached to her music.

  • @GraceGivenGrace

I'm not sure what that passage in Ephesians has to do with anything i said in my last post, but last time i checked, Catholics were Christians.

  • @periechontology That passage in Ephesians is the gospel. It is by GRACE that we are saved through FAITH, that is not what Catholics believe. If last time you checked "Catholics were Christians", I would encourage to you study the bible (King James version, not the Catholic one) and see for yourself that Roman Catholicism is an abomination. There is only ONE way to be acceptable to God and that is through Jesus Christ His son. "

  • @GraceGivenGrace

I think in order to know whether or not Catholics are Christians you would have to know more than the Bible, you would have to actually understand what Catholics believe.

  • @periechontology That would be a lot of people going to Heaven right? But the Bible says "few there be that find it". Please compare what the Catholics say to what God's word (the Bible) says. If you do, you will find there are many differences.

  • @GraceGivenGrace

o.k. are baptists Christian? all Baptists going to heaven would be a lot of people as well.

  • @periechontology "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 7:21 "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." Ephesians 4:4-6 "Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them...

  • @periechontology "Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets....

  • Beware true believers! Audrey Assad is a Catholic. Just look at the article at "catholic.org" if you don't believe it.

  • This song has changed my life, no joke. <3

  • @maddieroxxxxx right she is GOD's artists.

  • @maddieroxxxxx i just wish that protestants didn't hate us like they do =/ i like the energy and message from protestant service.. but i just feel that catholic mass gives more reverence and is more formal.. and hey if they were doing it that way for so long then why turn from it..

  • this might be the most beautiful song i have ever heard! amazing voice(: i could listen to this over and over again, and never get tired of it.

  • Can anybody tell me what the bass notes are in the introduction? I'm trying to learn this song before Christmas eve, and I would love to nail this intro. It's beautiful!

  • Comment removed

  • @tylerellis496 when your right hand hits the F#, play a E B E chord or note sequence.. and when the next one comes along, it'll be F# D F#.. then the last one just G D, and it repeats once. i hope that this makes some kind of sense hahaha (: Good luck! it's a gorgeous song.. i'm playing it at my church this weekend (:

  • She does have an amazing voice, reminds me of matt morris :)

  • 0 dislikes :)

  • She sounds SOOOO much like Adie Camp!! I thought this was Adie singing when I heard it on the radio...amazing

  • AMazing!

  • @EITSlover91

    Sarah's overrated.

  • AWESOME - thanks for expressing your great thots of He Who is enuf.

    God bless you Audrey ....

  • I love this song!! :)

  • Glad to see new talent equal to some of the best of the past, just a beautiful voice from a beautiful woman. The best of all worlds singing with love in her heart.

  • As a low tech, beginner musician, I'd like to know.. what's the difference between using headphones and not using headphones while performing or singing?

  • @true2lyfe the headphones serve as a sort of monitor. they play your own voice and the music. the levels of each can be adjusted according to each singer's preference. some singers like to hear a lot of their own voice in the monitor, because it's helpful in maintaining pitch. others like to hear only the amplified music in the monitor. so that's what the headphones do. I hope that was helpful! : )

  • @jhooduab exactly. very well said....

  • @true2lyfe

i think one of the pros would be that you can hear it like if you were hearing from a radio

  • Do I dare say that I think she is the best female Christian artist out there today? Pretty confident in my opinion. I just discovered who she is on KLove......of course I had heard this song on Spirit105.3 many times, but life gets busy & we forget to look up certain artists. So glad I stumbled upon this! :)

  • @Laniemarie427 agreed 110%. Christian music has needed something like this for a long time.

  • @Laniemarie427

Eh, really good artistry, very little spiritual energy (anointing).

  • @Laniemarie427 Do i dare say...Glory to God, not this girl. To the potter, not the clay. Great song, very well done.

  • Amazing!

  • Amazing voice

  • Oh my wow

  • I love this song. She has an incredible voice. Can't wait for her CD.

    God bless you!

  • Audrey has such an amazing voice, pitch, range and control. I can't wait for this song to come out!

  • @rocknjazzdude, i know, i bought her cd and i only really knew 1 of her songs! i love how she can get to such a high pitch, but still have so much control over her voice! my voice would crack if i tried some of the things she does!

  • @rocknjazzdude

Her range is just o.k. but she shows you how amazing a complete command of pitch can be.

  • What a voice. She does very well live, both playing and singing. Can't wait for the album!

  • Wow!

  • ahhh shes so beautiful =D

  • shes really good!

  • I think this is one of my favorite songs by her! Powerful and True

  • Wow. Very beautiful. Glory to God.

  • Awesome!

  • beautiful

  • I love this song, it makes me want to go to the mountains stand against the rushing wind and let the snow fall on my face. thanks for posting and definitely i would love to hear it be played on the radio so i can pull down my windows and feel the presence of God =D
