That isn't the Persona Thanatos. That's actually Pharos, who becomes unsealed from Minato when he evokes for the first time. If you played through the game, you'd know that Aigis sealed him inside of Minato ten years back to prevent him from escaping, seeing as he was the materialization of Death. When Pharos takes his human form as Ryoji, he shows Minato his true form is Thanatos on New Year's Eve when you decide whether or not to kill him.

@jr2nd Like the persona? Yeah. Ever noticed that Thanatos is the final persona of the Death Arcana, which is Pharos'? I guess if you want to get technical about it, you can use Thanatos as the manifested power of Pharos as a means that you've got it under your control.

it is really late in the game, and it is kinda obvious who you have to fuse in order to get him, since he is the ultimate persona of the death arcana. (you fuse the other persona of the death arcana for him)

Thanatos was actually living inside the protagonist since he was 5 when Aigis sealed Tanatos in him when Thanatos wasn't complete. When the protagonist summoned Orpheus for the first time, Thanatos escaped his body and went loose, although he was incomplete. He comes back as the little boy Pharos and eventually becomes complete again after all the 12 arcana of shadows are beaten.

And Thanatos went nuts because he's a death Arcana, along with some other stuff.

Well he's the first persona you get, so not really. But in fes you get a version called Orpheus Telos which is the best persona in the game!

It has bonus stuff like a new chapter called "The Answer" which takes place after the events of P3 as well as new personas, new social links and new events in the main story. Thanatos is a Persona and the only way to get him is to do a Hexagon Fusion with Samael + Loa + Pale Rider + Mot + Alice to get Thanatos but in order to get Pale Rider you have to do Elizabeth's request number 6, 8, 15, 22, 23, and 29 (This also helps to get Nata Taishi, which is important to get Alice in a Cross Fusion)

If I remember correctly Messiah is unlocked by maxing the Justice Arcana and fusing Orpheus and Thanatos.

Aside from the Cadenza ability that he gets with Apsaras, he's useless after the first initial battles. Go ahead and fuse him already. Don't worry, you'll get a compendium later so you can use money to bring him back at any time if you really like him.

But he is useful MUCH later on down the road. That's all I'll say.

For Pale Rider you must have fill the 8th Elisabeth Request and you need to fuse Vetala and Naga.

For Alice, that you can have only when the cross fusion become available (after 9/21) you must fuse Lilim X Pixie X Ne-Zha X Narcissus and be lvl 56+. Enoiy if I'm not too late ^^

Actually, that's Magician, the first of the "boss" Shadows. Three reasons as to why that is: (1) It has the Magician mask, same as all the other Magician type enemies in the game; (2) It's a full moon, which is when all the "boss" types appear; and (3) Though less obvious, Cowardly Mayas don't have that many arms, nor do they hold knives like this one.

You have to wait until Pharos maxes out hsi social link with you, then I believe you have to be at lvl 67 mimnimum to create him. Once you have those two requirements you need all the other death personas (including Alice from one of Elizabeth's requests) and you should be given the option to fuse him in a pentagon spread

What i don't understand about this part is why is Thanatos attacking the shadows? Since he is actually Ryoji/Pharos/The Appriser and is on the side of Nyx (the shadows being fragments of her), why is he furiously attacking the very being that he's destined to bring to the world? It probably is because of his memory loss, however I think that even though he may/may not remember himself, he still didn't want his friends to feel pain, so he protected them by destroying those Shadows.

There are 6 death personas. The 5 to make Thanatos, and Thanatos. The other 5 are Pale Rider, Mot, Alice, Loa, and Samael.
