She has a real Liza Minnelli look & sound to her doesn't she? Everybody loves Anita. The pacing seems off though. It's kind of painful to listen to compared to the sweeter more predictable studio version. But nothing beats live performances in my opine.
This is utterly beautiful, something rare and special. I never realised Anita had sung it with James. It almost brings tears to my eyes. Beautiful song, two beautiful singers, a great well rehearsed band, and an audience which actually wants to listen. Just fabulous!
anita at radio city music hall.... she was wonderful.... the entire audience rose to it's feet when she walked out on stage ... before she sang one note... she had a standing Ovation !! the most powerful female singer i have ever seen.... she moved my soul !
I like the singing, I think the ones who don't like it just want to hear the Patti Austin version and used to that version so anybody else singing it you dog out! Anita Baker did an awesome job! And I like both Anita and Patti!
lmao wtf is happening at.0.34? i thought this anita dude was having a seizure......anyway patty's version rulessssssssssssssssssss, wheres patty???? this anita dude needs to stop singing this song ,shes killing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this anita dude killed the song, why is james singing with this person? original song with patty austin is beautiful....this anita is a horrible singer...i cannot finish watching ...my poor ears..
I love the original singers of the song, but I do have to say... Anita knocked it way out of the ballpark on this one. And I'm not saying that just because I'm a huge fan of hers. She was excellent in this song.
ANITA BAKER! The queen. No one can hold a candle to Anita. No need to throw in licks and reverbs...crystal clear power behind those pipes. And emotion. She is god's gift. A legend.
Of course this is an Patti Austin classic too. I saw her perform both voices of the duet at the NorthSea Jazz Festival some time ago. But Anita Bakers version is good too. ;-)
And do I spot Lee Ritenour in the back??? And Phil Perry too, must have been an awesome concert!

I love both of these legends but quite frankly this pairing is not the best. James Ingram's other duets eclipse this one by leaps and bounds. It looks like Anita was having hearing the musicians. She is better as a solo artist.
