  • Anita Baker is simply the best!!!

  • If god gave me jame's vioce id break so many girls hearts, until then mine will have to suffer =[

  • NADIE CANTA COMO ANITA SUPER SUPER.

  • She has a real Liza Minnelli look & sound to her doesn't she? Everybody loves Anita. The pacing seems off though. It's kind of painful to listen to compared to the sweeter more predictable studio version. But nothing beats live performances in my opine.

  • 32 people didn't have their baby come to them

  • This was when love songs were real, meaningful and from the heart:)

  • Best collaboration ever # team Anita baker

  • It was a very nice duet with he and Patti Austin. I simply love this song and really love it when James sang it with Anita Baker!!:-))

  • This is utterly beautiful, something rare and special. I never realised Anita had sung it with James. It almost brings tears to my eyes. Beautiful song, two beautiful singers, a great well rehearsed band, and an audience which actually wants to listen. Just fabulous!

  • A trip down memory lane ,Minnie would approve.

  • beautiful ♥♡♥♥♥♡♡♥♥

  • anita at radio city music hall.... she was wonderful.... the entire audience rose to it's feet when she walked out on stage ... before she sang one note... she had a standing Ovation !! the most powerful female singer i have ever seen.... she moved my soul !

  • Same here I Love the way they Sanq this sonq *Classic

  • I have listened to this song a hundred times and I'll be listening a hundred more.

  • How cute is Anita in that little dress! YOU GO GIRL!

  • I saw Phil Perry singing in the back ground.

  • @nvjharmonica I just noticed that!! Phil shouldn't be in no background with that BANANAZ voice of his!!

  • I prefer this version to Patti Austins

  • I killed the replay button

  • AWESOME!!!! Anita Baker is the best ever

  • ooooooooohhhhhh Dammmmmmm

    Anita At Her Best!!

  • James Ingram is totally rocking that tux

  • I like the singing, I think the ones who don't like it just want to hear the Patti Austin version and used to that version so anybody else singing it you dog out! Anita Baker did an awesome job! And I like both Anita and Patti!

  • Feel good music.

  • I can't get enough of this performance. Anita killed it.

  • @Solsticesun1 I preffer this version too pattys duet greatly, and anita is one fine woman =]

  • How can 28 peeps NOT like this...Crazy LOL

  • @penguinmama88 their fingers slipped, they didn't mean to not like this song. It's so full of passion and they blend so well together.

  • She has to be one of the best singers in the world. Unbelievable!

  • Lee Ritenour on guitar, Bobby Caldwell on backing vocals. Looks like an all-star lineup!

  • wonder what he asked her that she said no to at the end?

  • @mightabeenking ----probably wanted to kiss her.

  • That outfit of hers is to die for!!!!!

  • @collegegurl2013 I agree with u on that!!

  • I love the original singers of the song, but I do have to say... Anita knocked it way out of the ballpark on this one. And I'm not saying that just because I'm a huge fan of hers. She was excellent in this song.

  • ÓTIMA PERFORMANCE DOIS EXCELENTES VOZES E UMA MÚSICA MARAVILHOSA ,EU AMO A MÚSICA E A BLACK MUSIC.

  • I want my Patti Austin back

  • @buenosdiers

even better! anita baker is, and always will be be, OOOONNNN

  • damn

  • She still gives me goosebumps when I hear that angel's voice.

  • No fucking idea how this ended up in my recomended videos.

  • This is real music! I love Anita!

  • ANITA BAKER! The queen. No one can hold a candle to Anita. No need to throw in licks and reverbs...crystal clear power behind those pipes. And emotion. She is god's gift. A legend.

  • @Mobee211 anita is a better artist imo, but u can never outdo a classic

  • just great

  • she looks a little liza with a z here (in a good way)

  • Of course this is an Patti Austin classic too. I saw her perform both voices of the duet at the NorthSea Jazz Festival some time ago. But Anita Bakers version is good too. ;-)

And do I spot Lee Ritenour in the back??? And Phil Perry too, must have been an awesome concert!

  • Of course this is an Patti Austin classic too. I saw her perform both voices of the duet at the NorthSea Jazz Festival some time ago. But Anita Bakers version is good too. ;-)

  • james and anita need to stop..I just can't take it....love them

  • Effortless, priceless talent

  • Bloke in the 3rd aisle "Fluk me, I never knew she won a Glammy award"

  • I agree Pure Silky Magical moment!!! Thank you for this!!!!

  • Its funny how her band said that she wouldn't make it solo but she did.

  • Ok, I see what some of you are talking about. Anita is definitely out of tune on this one. Her voice doesn't match the rest of the harmony. Still love her though.

  • @silentthriller I think she brought new life to the song since the time it has been done by him and Patti Austin. So, I do not think anything went wrong with her performance, but you have a right to your opinion.

  • Oh, he did whisper...

  • Lol, he kissed her on the cheek...He didn't whisper anything...I loooovee Anitaa!

  • @lillydean31 he did not kiss her her, he whispered something

  • @2009dbella and @ty32514 ---it is because you had them we have to cope with the shitty leftovers !!!!

  • Thanks for sharing this video. This is a timeless performance by two of the best.

    Thanks for upload!!

  • I LOOOOVE Anita Baker!!! Her voice is like an angel.

  • i thought they are all guys, it's my first time to view their vid .. .. :D .. tsk .. i really love this song .. hmpf !

  • everybody is defending beyonce but she has nothing on anita and anita voice can move a crowd in a way that beyonce only wishes no comparison.

  • Why does Beyonce names get brought up in every comment blog log??? Beyonce is her own person, she is a great singer and entertainer in her own right who has had a very successful career after she was able to obtain crossover appeal..which by the way, isn't easy to do for any black artist...light or not. Just let her enjoy her fame while she can....

  • @Annazayla I think why people get hecked up with singers of today, is that they miss the essance of what singing is all about today. As with this song its not all about tits and arse. Its about real connection and singing.. Its just such a shame no one dose it like this anymore. Ive not brourght a record in years and thats such a shame. My money is ready but Dr Dra just int ma swing. RIP Luther Vandross 2nd July. 2005

  • she is wonderful...timeless...

  • Dam I miss old school....what happened to that sweet R&B?....

  • takes me back to when music was great

  • to Bobby Caldwell....it's all about music not fame as he sings backup vocals on this concert...cool............

  • etemuru.......Thats the truth!.This was a classic, and classy performance!

  • anita baker is great but i prefer patti austin on this song.

  • Wow, they sound extremely good.

  • i wish i was there. we don't have singers like this anymore.

  • A few.

  • @Jameyah12 These people had class!

  • Anita Baker's one of my all-time favorites. Oh, by the way, Lisa Stansfield and Basia - they stand out, too!

  • @goldenretrieverk9 Yes, Basia, like Anita, is a doll-baby! Both are very talented, beautiful women...♥♥

  • @goldenretrieverk9 i love them too

  • all i can say is WOW

  • I can´t even find the words to express the caliber of voice and artistry we receive from these artists. You just can´t compare today´s fabricated toy artists with old forever school.

  • Wow !!!!!

  • This woman can WAIL!!!!!

  • nice song"

  • You don't hear songs like this anymore nor do you see this type of collaboration.

  • LOL James got lost in Anita. They were jammin'.

  • Graciosa, explendorosa e magnifica baker's.

  • unreal

  • the way lee ritenour is rockin in the background is crackin me up at 2:35

  • Classy very Classy!

  • strange how today's singers cant even sing their own songs live so well the way these amazingly talented people did during their times..anita baker in this video is singing patty austin's part but she makes it sound so wonderful in her own style

  • Perfect duet! Great chemistry. Calm down James. Don't embarrass yourself by bustin in your pants. Calm down, boy!

  • Beyonce will NEVER EVER!!! Be on Anita Baker's level...Anita Baker is an Icon!!

  • This is extra special. Thanks for posting.

  • I truly love this version...it has so much soul in it

  • PURE CLASS...

  • anita is a Foxxxxx!!!! OMG if i was like 20 years older lol

  • My all time fave Youtube vid. So beautiful

  • 1 of the best duets ever!!

  • It's a Rod Temperton song. The same guy who wrote "Thriller" "Off

the Wall" "Baby Be Mine" and "Rock with You" for MJ. He also wrote

    "Yah Mo Be There"

  • ok, WOW. What a great performance!

  • Great duett I love both

  • omg!!! she's GOOD!!!

  • In love the way Anita weaves her voice around the rhythm and melodies of this song. The 2:30 mark is pure magic!

  • Hey Callie Shabazz can u tell me where to get this song from I love it especially the end on how they broke it down.

  • Oh yeah! Lee Ritenour on guitar!

  • Love her soo...

  • Interesting rendition with Anita Baker instead of Patti Austin, but still a good song. I like Anita Baker's stuff. Patti Austin and James Ingram make this song the original and really good.

  • i love anita but the song just isnt right with out patty austin

  • my most precious duet!!! the sadness and the sweetness of pure love! a simple deep feeling, defying time and space. thank you for posting this!

  • Baby, come to me, let me put my arms around you

This was meant to be and I'm oh so glad I found you

Need you ev'ry day, gotta have your love around me

Baby, always stay 'cause I can't go back to livin' without you

    i love this song

  • We KNOW what music should sound like. It makes me proud.

  • aamazing

  • Whew that woman can sing!

  • Anita-she just lures you in. She did it to James@4.07

  • I love this. Memories of my childhood. Good music where has it gone?

  • anita baker is on the beginning like the good fay from shrek.

  • I'll tell you ...R&B isn't what it once was...all the soulful melodies and great artist that made my youth growing up awesome.

  • That Soul 4:05 - 4:09 LIFT ME TO HEAVEN AND BACK!!! THis WOman, OMG !!!

  • what are the names of those rifts or runs that anita does where she goes way up like 4:09 and way down and back to center in the middle of a line? that is freaking amazing. music experts talk to me when you see this please. thanks.

  • I swear my generation had the best singers...Anita, Toni, Mariah, Whitney, Patti, Aretha, Tina...I mean come on! All these kids know now is stuff to shake their asses to...watch vids like this and get a lesson on what real music is!

  • I love this song and many like it because I grew up with my Mum playing it all the time. I listen to this on my ipod. Great music!

  • Lee Ritenour up in there too?

  • This is one of my favorite songs of all time! Please recognize this was done originally by Patti Austin and James Ingram for General Hospital's "Luke and Laura Song". I love Anita Baker and she did a fine job.

  • i believe anita flowed very well all the adlives were wonderful she's my fav.

  • i need u every day Anita-i agree

  • Looks like Phil Perry on the back up

  • Forgot something: this is Regina Bell's Song! Take a listen folks. peacessss

  • Yes, I am a fan of Antia -- however here she is having difficulty in just going with the feeling the flow of the moment -- let go of the ear a flow with James. But, again that was her career challenge and she was replaced in the business by -- can you believe Toni Baxton via Baby Face's production sounds during this era

  • Her delicate approach to singing was a welcome change when she came along.

  • Ladies and gentlemen: the music!!! Please consider also the great Patti Austin as a lovely performer of this song...

  • When music was music. 80's was the best!

  • i always get goose bumps everytime i hear her voice

  • Love beyonce to death but just cant compare to anita when it comes to vocals. Then again, very few people can

  • she makes beyonce look and sound like an american idol reject
