  • I have seen Preston 3 times and have tickets for his concert later this year in Stirling, Scotland. I can't get enough of his sound, he is amazing!

He deserves to be world famous with the technique he has and the tracks he writes/plays!

  • Honestly, if you're commenting about how clean a slide should sound then you don't know the first damn thing about slide guitar or what its all about. This is slide guitar man.

  • I've heard that thousand times...

  • Some of you idiots probably couldn't play a Q-tip with a hairpin. All U can do is criticize somebody for the way they play or don't play. Why don't you shut up and learn something!

  • Don't listen to stupid people, give them a bottle neck and let's see if they can have a cleaner sound.

  • i just found out about preston, very good!!!!!!

  • my eye lids feel so heavy right about now!!!!!!! hypnotic!!!!!!!

  • play more of this music on the radio brian d

  • Hugh it's Franzl's Saw about a guy called Franzl who owned a bar. EastCoast515 is right it's prounounced Fran zel

  • sorry to be a pain but its fenzils saw i have his cd and saw him live :)

  • At about 2 min it starts to sound abit like Micheal Hedges...a wee bit ...this guy is great.

  • i saw this live :D

  • same! every year he visits ireland.

    and is ALwAYS welcome :)

  • @frankyh101 Scotland

  • wow this guy is awesome. Just discovered him today. I listen to mostly electronic music, this reminds me of it in its most organic form for some reason. Puts out such intense emotion.

  • I saw him live and he's so tall!

By the way, he pronounced it "Fran-zel", is Franzi prounounced that way or something? Or is it Franzl?

  • Makes me want to learn slide guitar :).

  • @Veetzs slides the best man!

  • This song sounds like it could be in a movie.

I need to see him play live once in my life

  • this song is inspired by a bar owner that could play the saw like a violin if you see him live he explanes how his friends take him to this bar at 1 or 2 in morning when its just shutting without telling him what for

  • Eh .

  • i have the amp he uses!!

  • what kind of amp

  • That's an AER Compact 60 or Alpha by the looks of it.

  • incredible!! life affirming

  • Genius

  • haha boondock566 good one

  • That's literally all you have to say about this guys playing? WOW. Well you're not a very clean asshole, how about that?

  • LOL boondock566 XD

  • frogslips...you would be a great poster child for planned parenthood...or to promote the use of condoms...Let's see your expert slide work feretface!

  • Techinque is somewhat irrelevant when a composition is as good this. And in fact I've seen him play this a few times and he can play way cleaner so don't shoot a good artist down based on one video.

  • Genius.

  • fantastic

  • this guy is my favorite tap guitarist . It doesn't matter is thier slow or not.

  • this guy is good no doubt. but i think i prefer andy. this guys stuff goes to slow for me. not to say he isnt talented.

  • this guy is a genius all 9ft 14 inches of him ..one of my favs ..great post ..thanks

  • Is he 9 foot?!?

  • lol no , i think hes 6 ft 7 actually :)

  • dyaamnnnnnnn

  • why 9ft 14 inches? didnt understand that

  • Rooney and franky i see yas both yas bitches!!!! If i hadda known he was this incredible i wudda went aswell :(

  • sounds like the desert level in Uru

  • Just great! Less is always more!

  • okay obscure point put does this song remind anyone of Ry cooder's score for the film "Paris, Texas"

  • Yeah, I can see that. I have to say Ry is a much better slide player. Preston needs to work on his slide touch...

  • Seen him in Gainsborough Sands amaizing, mesmerised

  • franky hughes i see you! aw man preston, this song really got a hold of me last night, was incredible

  • seen him last night

    amazing!

  • excellent. does he still tour?

  • Yep, I've got a ticket for 17th november in Newcastle

  • I wish he would come to the US. Especially the Twin Cities in Minnesota.

  • yeah me too. he used to live there you know

  • This guy is a fantastic musician... I saw him a number of times... once in a very intimate gig in a small town in north mayo.... absolutly amazing style... to integrate percussion into such a complex style is great, he seems to be able to arouse particular moods by switching so cleverly through modes.... really special... only bad thing is he has the same lines to say between each tune..

  • How about enjoying the music and not being caught up with a juvenile "my favourite guitarist is better then yours" mentality? If you can't enjoy music for what it is, you miss the point, and fail at life.

  • you probably don't like him because this is the only preston vid you have watched, watch rainmaker or tribes, or any other one where he two handed taps, and goes over the top of the neck, and you'll see why he is considered so great.

  • COme to MY house in Blackrock, Dublin. Everyone who posted here can come to. I'll pay for the bus from Sligo and Waterford, OK? Sorted then, leave your mobile numbers in a post, I'll give ya a shout.

How does he get that beautiful rounded, bluesy sound - from a Strat!

  • that's your bloody phone number too isn't it!!!

    Ya bleedin mad yoke!!:)

  • And when you get to dublin, come to dun laoghaire!

  • check this guy out type in "blues for tuck"

  • no dublin lol

  • no come back to sligo, ireland

  • percusion bass and lead

  • haha i remember the story behind this track, preston's friends bringin him up to see sum guy who owned a resteraunt and could play a saw. preston, come back to waterford ireland!
