This is such a meaningful song. It breaks my heart to hear and see animals get abused and forgotten everyday. What did they do to deserve such disrespect? How would any of those mean people feel if they were thrown away like trash and to be forgotten. Animals have been through enough. Why don't we end this and be thankful that they are here for us at times when needed.

my dad got fired, and my mom is a housewife. we were tight on money and we had to sell our house, cars, and even material things with sentimental value. We nearly lost everything. But there was never, EVER, even a thought about dumping my dog at a shelter. She had a twisted nail, and she gets seizures. She has to be under constant medical attention. But we didnt have money so she couldn't be. and yet, here she is. 2 years later, and tomorrow she turns 6!

I know many people who don't go for a while, because their tight on money, but they pull through. Shelter? You had a roof over your head didnt you? So why couldn't your dog. Honestly, IF your dog did get adopted, then that's a lucky rare case. more than usually they die.

I'll never dump my dog, she's special... she's adopted... not from a shelter, but from her last owner... I took in my lil' Rusty! Or Rustina... will be a more feminine name... she's old... she had puppies! She still humps her bed! I love her! She's still cute! She's Jack Russell Terrier! Her old owner died a few days later... my cousin's dog, Artie is adopted from shelter... he's fuzzy and cute!

I don't know how people could ever do such a thing to a animal. But this also made me think of my two cats I had to take to the shelter cause we moved and I couldn't bring them. My dog Rex was found starving and sick with heartworm.

I am hearing impaired it is hard for people to understand me.

But Rex sits with me and lets me hug him for hours and walks together are the best.

We survived Katrina together and I never left his side like he never left mine.

Rescued dogs are the best for they know who truly love them and never let you forget how much love they have to give in return.

He loves my 3 cats and my other two dogs, Neco, and Lindsay. Lindsay we got from the pound. she was found in an abandon house almost starved to death. Neco's mother and two of her puppies were killed by a car, we found neco barely alive on the side of the road. I love all my animals as if they were my children <3

What is funny Rex came into my life a stranger and became family.

He has the sweetest attitude towards people in general and wants to be surrounded by people.

Funny how someone who nearly lost his life has turned into such a star.

Like you saving a life became so much more then a good deed it became something of a lesson to me.

My dog passed away recently. Although I didn't take her to a shelter (we loved her for her entire life) it just makes me so sad to think about how unlucky other dogs are compared to her. She had a good life, but I think the thing that pains me so much is that I can't give that loving life to every other dog as well, no matter how much I wish I could.

I cant get over how many are being dumped right and left,let alone put down.If you cant be responsible for them dont have them at all.I have adopted two dogs now and have rescued numerous cats and will continue to do it for the rest of my life. Damn.. this song reminds me of my dog who ran away. She was old (18) and was almost completely blind and deaf. I would always get irritated with her because she would wander in front of me and nearly trip me. When we where painting the house one of us forgot to close the gate she wandered out...

@animallover0275 Oh no it didnt offend me at all =)...its just... i got that dog from the same shelter i took him too =/ and i remember when i adopted him..the volunteers were thanking me so much for taking him from the pound..but then i had to take him back =S And i feel horrible doing it because when i dropped him off he started crying when i walked away and it just made me feel extremely horrible.

@animallover0275 My old neighbor was like that. She liked to get puppies and as soon as they grew up she just left them outside and fed them table scraps. One dog in particular was left outside in one of the coldest winters I've ever seen, and it was raining. I'm happy to say that I took her in and gave her a happy home for at least a few years. :)

Both my dogs are shelter dogs. They are the best dogs anyone could possibly ask for. One of them was almost starved to death and she is the most loving grateful dog imaginable. Everyone that wants a dog should go to the shelter, spend some time with the dogs, find one with a good personality and bring it home! Only thing that's hard about it is you can't bring them all home but to save even one life is amazing and both you and your dog will forever be grateful to each other.
