Well I do think hoax. The underwater camera man is one of three things; incredibly brave, a moron or a charlatan. Unless he is an experienced, no cage, great white diver (and I doubt many of those survive), who in their right mind would swim 20 metres or so from the boat and safety, as the re-entry footage suggests? I am also impressed that when the shark turned toward him, he didn't flinch or high tail it back to the boat.
@MAYGORREN The diver was not filmed whilst in the water at his request. Jack (diver) wanted both sets of eyes firmly on him and the shark without the interference of a viewfinder should anything go wrong, or appear to be heading that way. This conversation is recorded but not included in this clip.
Jack is a very experienced free diver and spear fisher, and is responsible for most of Adventure Bound's unique underwater footage that you see appearing on their TV show and throughout their DVDs.
@MAYGORREN I personally know Jack and he is a straight up guy along with all the Adventure Bound guys. I have filmed with these guys and I can tell you first hand that everything you see on this show is real. I've personally sat on a beach for 10 days straight in the middle of nowhere just for 20 mins of viewable footage, so when the opportunity arises these guys grab it just so you get to watch the 30 mins of awesome fishing TV they produce.
Cont. Instead of doubting them you should be happy they were there and had the guts enough to do what they do. Their passion for what they do is second to none. It started with Andrew and my brother and the torch has been passed onto Jack, Lee and the rest of the guys to continue the tradition that my brother and Andrew started.
@MAYGORREN he is experienced and the sharks don't go attacking all humans they see yes there are some attacks but look how many people get killed by cars or bee's
Man that was awesome! If were making that video no way would I have gone in the water. I would have dropped the camera in the water from the transom door and filmed it that way. Then I would film my camera man getting into and out of the water, used some poetic license in the editing room, spliced it all together and hey presto, I was in the water with a great white. But then I wouldn't have the killer shot from the boat of both the shark and diver in the water at the same time?
@MAYGORREN What you saying? They didnt get in the water with it? It never occured to me at first but you have got a point where is the footage from the boat with the diver and shark swimming near by? Surely they had the boat camera recording this encounter too? It does seem strange i must admit. Possible hoax?? Why would they do this? Adventure Bound camera crew should share the full footage to remove the cloud of doubt that you have have raised. If done you should retract your comment.
@lovethybison Also, why not film the entire encounter form the boat? The film of his friend and the shark together would counter any claims of selective editing and at worst the footage of his friend getting eaten would be priceless!
@lovethybison not a hoax at all this show has never done hoaxes never will i love watching it the person put a response up to why they did not film him with the shark and it is a valid point of safety ! there is only one boat there they did not go out to film sharks they went out to film fishing i am sure if they went out for to film sharks it would have been at port lincoln not where they were for this and maybe then there might have been 2 boats and there would also have been a cage too
This is amazing, and creepy. I like 30kms from Lakes Entrance and take my son to the beach there!
