  • Holy fuck, that's a Japanese V8? Amazing.

  • man if my friend's VK45DE could sound this good in his '04 M45 . . . great car man, keep it up! maybe your next project could be stuffing an LS1 / LS2 / LS6 into an S14 / S15 240/Silvia? i love cars as long as they're fast and sound amazing. american, japanese, german, whatever!

  • @DJM442

His M45 can sound like it, just put some headers on it and dump them right off of the headers, lol. He can put headers on it, and open the exhaust up some more buy going to a bigger diameter.

    And I've already dropped an LS1 into a S14.

  • lmfao nice

  • is it automatic or manual?

  • @BigLance2394 Its a manual, from a Z32

  • Big props on the Nissan v8 swap. It must have been difficult.

As far as V8 engines go, there are some better candidates for this swap (LS1, LS2 etc). But when its all said and done, I like this project for sheer effort and originality.

Good job bro. Keep it up.

  • wow stop ruinign internets with retarded posts

  • wow stop ruinign tuner cars with the american muscle engines

  • you're dense, that's import power.

Learn it, live it, love it.

  • Not all V8s are American junk. This one happens to be a Nissan and it happens to be very good.

  • Hahahahahahahahaha are you serious?

That's no american V8. Read the description.

  • lmfaooooo. thats a infinti engine lmao which is still nissan

  • Man, are you a fuckin retard. That's a Nissan car with a Nissan engine.

  • wow stop ruinign internets with retarded posts

  • @xSiiKnEsS Thats out of a nissan you dumbass.

  • wow your a fuckin idiot. that's a nissan engine dumb fuck!

  • @xSiiKnEsS

    homo lol

  • @xSiiKnEsS wheres the american muscle at?

  • @xSiiKnEsS i disagree running high tourque engines in lighter cars is a great idea. i got an 91 rx7 with a small block 350.

  • @xSiiKnEsS first off thats not an american muscle engine its from japan , trust me my infiniti q45 has that same motor dumbass learn your cars and motor

  • @xSiiKnEsS Yea, its a Q45...

  • @xSiiKnEsS the VH45DE is made by Nissan and was put in the Infiniti Q45....do some research before you run your mouth

  • @xSiiKnEsS i bet you feel dumb now lol

  • @xSiiKnEsS Q45 is Japanese muscle. Fucking dumb ass!

  • @xSiiKnEsS its a swap from a infiniti q45. check yourself.

  • @xSiiKnEsS u spelled ruining wrong..........

  • Sounds good

  • that shit sounds fucking beast.

  • Cool, I believe it should be badged a 450SX, lol.

  • Sounds quite good.

The VHs really are Nissan's equilvilant to Toyota's UZs. Same firing, same size, timelines et cetera.

I'd love to see one in a Skyline, I believe there's only a couple. It'd be far better than the RB26, though the aftermarket support for the VHs is null and void compared to the RB26's...

  • There are several Skylines in Australia and New Zealand, brute bastards they are.

A few of them are twin turbo also.

  • Yes, we from Australia tend to put V8s in everything, dont' we? At least we try to maintain brand loyalty. Those twin-turbos would be awesome things, but a bitch to break, with the only parts being from other engines and the like.

'Spose that's the beauty of the the LS engine swaps, their big power in a small package and there's parts for them up to ying-yang.

Still, a Nissan V8 in a Nissan car seems more appropriate.

  • Nice S13

    ★★★★★

  • thanks

  • u needa make more good vids of this ride man thats a unique sounding ride haha

  • I know,

The car is now being updated to a 450sx(2.0) basically it is now a S14, the fit is so much better, IMO.

As soon as I get all the bugs figured out of it, I'll shoot some more video of the new and improved ride.

  • i have a question , but i havent found the answer under steady research

    maybe u can help

    lol

do u no why they put the vh45 interlans in the vh41 block?

is the vh41 block stronger or something?

  • I'm not sure why.

I believe its because the people who are doing it have VH41's and want the stronger internals of the VH45.

Did you do a search on Zilvia, and Nico-club?

I thought that mostly the Aussie's were the ones doing that swap but I could be wrong.

  • The difference between the VH41 & VH45, is the starter motor being on the opposite sides of the motor, so it makes clearing steering shafts easier on some applications. Then you simply bung in the VH45 internals and Bob's your Uncle ;-)

  • 450sx?

  • yep

    CA18DET = 180SX

    SR20DET = 200SX

    KA24DE = 240SX

    VH45DE = 450SX

    LS1(5.7L) = 570SX

    etc......

  • wat kinda tranny do u have?

    auto or manual

  • Manual, out of a N/A 300ZX

  • wow thats interesting. does it bolt right up?

  • nope

  • What kinda work is involved?

  • Love the swap.

One problem though with people.....If you watch other people's 240 v8 swaps anybody that swaps in a domestic like a lsx catches hell.....but for some reason since you use a foreign v8 it's all good. Cmon people grow up. Quit being prejudiced. A lsx makes 300whp + STOCK. And they are CHEAP and TOUGH.

Take off the rice goggles. A badass ride is a badass ride.

  • I have built both, VH450SX and LS14, And would be happy to drive either one. I just like to be different.

I built this one because it is all Nissan: engine, trans, and shell. Just wanted it to be unique.

I like my friend Vince's LS1 S14 too. Lots of power, and aftermarket support.

  • well think about this all the american v8s have been tryed a tested now its time for the japanese v8 to see what they can do im tired of hearing about ls1 swaped rx-7 ya they are nice but its been done ok like the 1uz the block has been proven to handle 2500 hp well thats what i hear and also alot of the american v8 guys love talking shit about are cars lets make a few of them eat there words

  • what type of trans did u use for that motor and what modifications did u have 2 do to make it work and that sounds mean btw!!!

  • Thanks, I used a 300ZX N/A transmission, as the rear-end ratios are the same, and I had to machine the bell-housing for the custom adapter plate that I made.

  • how much does it cost for these kind of swaps? i am guessing the vh and the vk uses the same tranny bolt pattern. i need to look into that later. but can the 300zx n/a tranny hold that torque?

  • It's cheaper than doing a 2Jz, RB swap. Aftermarket parts are starting to come around too, and it's all Nissan to boot. I don't think that the bolt patterns are the same. Yes, that tranny does quite well with the torque, but you can fit whatever tranny you want, because there us not manual trans that will fit the VH without an adapter plate.

  • oh perfect. actually i was looking at a vk45de swap. you know go big for the unique factor but i have a long way to go in research before i finalize that. if the motor mounts are the same as the vh and stuff. and if i need an adaptor plate for sure then ill go for a nice custom unit. so i guess that would go both ways for the vh or vk. i am leaning towards the vk if i can. but i would definitely go with a vh if it turns out to be too ridiculous. thanks for the info.

  • i never knew you could get a v8 in a s13, i was think about dropping a vq25de but that v8 is a monster

  • or VQ45 whatever, it's been ages since i learnt all of the engine codes

  • thats awesome, i love the sound of it

i'm an avid ford fan myself but damn.

now i want a 300ZX Z32 and one of those bad boys to put in it.

    all hail the VH45DE

  • I like that transplant (props 2 you)

That is a pornografic soundtrack :D

(Who cares what he spent on the conversion ? It is not like every single 240sx in the US with the SR20DET. The SR is a good motor but the Q45 engine is different and innovative and is much, MUCH cleaner then a 350 swap...

What gearbox and driveline do you use ???

  • Thanks. The gearbox is out of a N/A 300ZX and a custom driveshaft was ordered from Mazworx. The main reason for me to use the 300ZX N/A tranny is because the gear ratio of the diff is the same as the 240SX, 4.08:1.

  • gunna up grade the diff?

  • nope

  • mad props man!

  • lol wow, thats retarded... 4k in that, you could have put 2k into an sr20 with some mods and made 400whp daily. It would even redline higher than 6k, stock. But it does look clean, i dig it ...just expensive

  • I have an SR20 in my Silvia conversion. It has about $9K tied up in that car, lol. It's doing 350 to the ground, but it has no low end torque where this is nothing but torque.

So is that 2k plus the SR, or is that including the SR. If the later, then you have a great deal, it's better than I can accomplish, lol.

  • should have kept the KA24 from the 240sx. that thing is a torgue monster for a 4 cyl

  • I still have it, but needs major repair due to oil starvation.

  • LOL FAG ka's are garbage that vh45 is a fucking monster.

  • why are KA's garbage? They just aren't as good as a 4.5 liter V8, unless they have a turbo :) Great car btw, I've been debating motor swaps into the 240, I guess go big or go home.

  • did you have to make a custom driveshaft?

only 3-4 thousand thats it??? u probably did all the custom fab right? wow. how much bhp is it running right now?

my brother dropped 5k on a 300hp sr in his 240installed.

  • I have $4K just in the drivetrain, and $6K in the car total, as of now. I still want to make this a race car, with a 10-12 point cage and full adjustable suspension, lol.

The driveshaft was made by Mazworx, and all other fab work was done by me.

The stock power of the engine is 280hp @ 6000, and 300ft/lbs @ 4000. I may have freed up some more power, but not sure till its put on a dyno.

  • sounds like a great project but lemme tell you man, im thinkin about doin dis swap cuz yr car sounds amazing man. and its a lot cheaper than i thought it would be. so what problems did u run into? probably custom engine mounts right?

  • i think those engines are under rated from what i heard, Srock says 305 but I think they push around 320ish. Thats just waht ive heard, Great car, gunna slap on some turbo's ?? :D vq45dett ftw

  • Ok I was wondering if this swap could be done what a Manual Transmission. Does someone just sell a bell housing adapter? Which transmission did you use?

  • I used a N/A 300ZX transmission, There are some adapter plates made for it, One is sold through Mazworx, one is sold by a guy on NICO forums, and if you have good skills you could make your own. I did, an it was hell getting everything just right.

  • doesn't that offset the weight pretty bad?

  • No, the block of the Q45 is made of aluminum, like the LS1. It weighs less than the KA/auto that was in it.

  • around how much did you spend because was thinking about doing that swap

  • So far about 3-4k, but I'm not done with it yet, lol.

  • bad. what kinda work did you have to do to get in in there? get more vid

  • Custom motor mounts, custom trans adapter plate & drive shaft, custom accessory brackets, custom exhaust, and the biggest shoe horn I could find, lol.

  • what tha hell is 450sx is

  • 240sx with a nissan v8

  • Nice
