Great, easy instructions! I can see why you sew on the outside as any 'rough' finish that may happen is hidden on the inside where no one will see and there's a nice straight seam on the outside. Denim can be difficult enough to sew without trying to do a perfect hem that was originally done on an industrial machine with a domestic machine.
I figure I save some money by hemming my own jeans. Thanks for a clean and easy to watch tutorial. It seems counterintuitive to sew from the outside, instead of from the inside where you care clearly see the crease. But since I can not seem to get the thread to look the same on both sides, I guess I would need to sew from the outside. Thanks for the video, very helpful.
ive got a sewing machine that me && my mom has NEVER EVER used we bought it maybe 2 years ago. we REALLY needa learn how to do this. maybe i'll try this later on on an old pair of jeans i have.
Dont know if anyone answered your question, it ahs been a yr. since you asked, but I go with the old vintage black singers, like a 15-91, or a 201, those are good ones, they are only straight stitch, but very very heavy duty machines.
Thanks! Easy to follow! I like your style :-)

I am looking for a good sewing machine to sew denim. What kind of sewing machine do you recommend? Thanks!

I use the Brother Runway model sewing machine. It looks like the one he was using.
I spent about $400.00.
