hahaha classic. I love the way he follows his shriek with a "well excuse me there, that was, someone putting a chair on my foot." - in such a calm and orderly manner.
@Durbs75 From the wiki article "Game": "Key components of games are goals, rules, challenge, and interaction. Games generally involve mental or physical stimulation, and often both. Many games help develop practical skills, serve as a form of exercise, or otherwise perform an educational, simulational, or psychological role." Cricket lacks many of these key elements, in many ways it's more of an excuse for spectators to lard about and get pissed.
@Durbs75 Furthermore, I was stating my personal feelings towards the game. You might not give Beethoven the amount of love he deserves, but hey, I'm not demanding you stop listening to all classical/romantic music as penance. I'll continue watching clips of cricket tomfoolery and no other part of the match twice as often just to assert my independence :)
Ok, three brief points and then I shall say nothing more. Ever.
First- which of the wiki qualities does cricket lack apart from "goals"? Many sports - yes there are others apart from football - do not have "goals" There is plenty of interaction, education etc.
Second - you seem to be confusing spectators with players (larding around getting pissed etc).
Third - and you are no orphan in this respect - why go our your way to critisise it? You're being a bully.
Physical stimulation? Cricket isn't the place to go, the professionals know that.
Interaction? Most of one team stays off the pitch.
Goals and rules? Secondary to codes of sportsmanship and honour at some levels.
Practical skills? Not really.
Exercise? Inactivity is rife.
You seem to be confusing exercise with fielding. At lot of it is about staying alert for prolonged periods of effective monotony, the like of which is not seen in international team sports. Maybe golf?
@Durbs75 Not criticising, but lauding my favourite part of the game. Why choose my comment to respond to out of the hundreds of farcical diatribes and poorly spelt tirades?
Calling me a bully and telling me to leave makes me the oppressed here, I feel. If you don't like YouTube comments you can hide them or just not scroll down. Very much your problem.
@Veggervangtuze 11 simpltons who are too thick to understand the rules and how hard the game it stick to watching men kick a soft ball about for 90mins and falling over in agony because they hurt there shoes and leave us to watch grown men facing 90MPH corkeys coming at them for hours and not even flintching
@Veggervangtuze: Cricket is a sport that can only be enjoyed by people with a high IQ. People with IQs less than 80 are obviously not going to enjoy it, as they lack the intellectual capacity to understand the nuances of the game. Personally I think such low IQ people should be hoarded into walled off towns, that are later liquidated resulting in the people being sent to establishments where they are forced to work hard or exterminated if they cannot work. That's just my opinion though.
Some people are just so sharp - they'll cut themselves! No one mentioned poor old David Gower's pain! It was well funny tho. What a day today - my beloved Wednesday rescued and we're doing much better tonight at The Gabba :) Thanks for this. Come on England!
