In g.i.joe there was an SAS trooper who joined thier ranks and there were times where g.i.joe teemed with other international teems from other countries.
I wish this is the direction the HUB would have taken with the new Joe cartoon.. but guess its too violent for their channel. Can't stand the animation or "A-team" storyline of the new show.
@Toddjumper Hey, at least the HUB's 'Renegades' is getting Snake Eyes and Scarlett's relationship right for once, and not pimping her out to Duke the way Sunbow and 'Resolute' did. Warren Ellis has a lot to answer for for that crap. Just because a stupid 80's cartoon did something doesn't mean you should let it influence all the animation that comes after it. Always stick to the comics; 'Resolute' would have been much better if they had.
@44excalibur I get your passion for the canon established in the Comics; however, you have to keep in mind that Ellis (aside from being a brilliant writer who doesn't have to explain himself) was trying to do something incredibly difficult, namely building a story that would pay respects to *several* years of Joe canon, not just the Sunbow series. And keep in mind, as someone who read the Comics, not *everyone* wanted Scarlett to end up with Snake-Eyes, so try not to speak for everyone, okay?
@RogueScholarBlue I do understand what you're saying. From what I've seen, Ellis was trying to combine the continuties which are not very compatible, and pay respects mostly to Sunbow, incorporating only a superficial amount of the Marvel series involving Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. As for Scarlett, she doesn't "end up" with anyone. She's only with Snake Eyes in the comics and Larry Hama made it clear that she always would be, regardless of Sunbow's corporate meddling back in the 80's.
@RogueScholarBlue I mean no disrespect to fans of 'Resolute,' but I question why Ellis would go the Duke/Scarlett route from Sunbow considering how it's made Scarlett such a notorious figure. Sunbow's reason for that was to make things more convenient for their animators who couldn't figure out how to work around Snake Eyes' muteness more than a creative decision. But the 80's are over and so is Sunbow. My comment was that 'Renegades is finally doing what animation has resisted for decades.
@44excalibur Considering that you've posted comments on *every* Resolute video on YouTube, your dedication to the Marvel Comics/IDW series is, along with the fact that you really, really, *Really* love Larry Hama, very clear. So, I won't bother trying to sway your discontent. I'm simply saying that lambasting Ellis and Resolute simply for the fact that he chose to lean towards the more commonly known (by non-hard core Joe fans) 80s cartoon as opposed to the comics is a bit myopic.
@RogueScholarBlue And you do have a point that the 80's cartoon may be more commonly well-known to non-hardcore fans, but at one point, the Adam West 'Batman' TV series was more commonly known to non-fans as well. However, now we have the Nolan Batman flms taking their cues from Miller, Loeb, and Moore. Like I said, we'll see how things play out. Many 'Resolute' fans have been attacking 'Renegades,' so I felt the need to defend it. I apologize for my earlier tone. Thanks for the discussion.
@44excalibur What Ellis achieved with Resolute was something that held truer to the G.I. Joe Universe then almost any other series. It did not make a mockery of the Canon in of itself like the Live Action G.I. Joe film did. If Scarlett not being with Snake-Eyes upset you (Clearly it did...) that's fine. I'd feel the same way if they redid Star Wars and Leia ended up with Lando. However, Resolute, on it's own, is an amazing mini-series and should not be attacked for a single lost relationship.
@RogueScholarBlue Star Wars doing what?!! Yikes! Your point is is taken. Sorry if i'm jumping down anyone's throats. I'm not really upset about a "lost " relationship since Snake Eyes & Scarlett are still canon in the comics. But animation has always robbed them, and 'Resolute' and especially 'Rise Of Cobra' rubbed salt in the wound. I only gave props to 'Renegades' for finally doing what Sunbow wouldn't, which takes some of the sting off. Again, I apologize for being so rough in my comments.
@44excalibur Well, I appreciate your candor in the matter. As to Renegades, the series has taken many of it's cues, including the character design, from Resolute. Also, though the series has, thus far, established a close bond and mutual respect between Scarlett and Snake Eyes, there is no more romance there then between her and Duke. In "Arashikage" we see Jinx is jealous of Scarlett, but that is not indicative of a Romance. You may not want to see more then is there. Farewell.
@RogueScholarBlue I appreciate your candor as well. Tonight on 'Renegades,' Storm Shadow told Snake Eyes that he was sending the Shadow Vipers to kill the other Joe's, and then said, "including your woman!" I assume he meant Scarlett. Tunnel Rat and the Baroness have also referred to her as his "lady" and his "girlfriend," and writer Henry Gilroy stated that the relationships between Flint & Lady Jay and Scarlett & Snake Eyes would be evolving as the series progresses. We'll see what happens.
@44excalibur I simply feel that both Ellis, and the series, deserve more respect then you've shown it thus far. I mean, to post on so many YouTube uploads about how the series is garbage because it ignored the Scarlett/Snake relationship is just bewildering. If you Loved the Comics, that's fine. However, you've stated that you're a True/Hard Core Fan of G.I. Joe. If so, how can you attack a series that at least tried to do it justice as well as jump down the throats of those who enjoyed it?
All right, show of hands: when Duke started to remind everyone that GI Joe is more than just one good soldier and all those vehicles got dusted off, who said either out loud or muttering, "F*** yeah!"
This series is how I wish it would have been as a kid in the '80's watching it.Characters can actually die and no fake laser beam shots coming out of their guns.
plot wise this is very close to the original gi joe pilot an energy weapon that fires into space that is redirected to a target, the joes running all over the world
@Remington61189 Notice that Cobra is effectively the only hostile force that GI Joe ever encounters - and Cobra is so inept that I always wondered what would justify Joe's involvement to begin with...
@phocjame i agree with you the Joe's Should fight different or even realistic villains now and then like the Taliban, it would fun to see them kicking arse in afghanistan
Want to hear my theory? G.I Joe is actualy full of idiots and blood knights who are too strong to be put into jail/killed, but too dangerous to allwoed to move freely. So when Cobra appers they "assemble" these people and tell them to fight Cobra. They don't need to waste specia ltroosp and all weirdos are too busy fighting against Cobra.
That´s the real GI JOE we everybody want! I am not fan but I always considered GI JOE aimed for a more mature audience: I found so stupid and silly the original one where nobody dies or even get shot BUT THIS ONE IS THE REAL GI JOE series! Really deserves a complete season!
It kind of pisses me that Lady Jaye isn't in the mix, but I guess she was taking care of Flint and her's daughter at the time since this is supposedly after Cobra disburesed for a while. As for the daughter see Marrisa Fairbanks from the transformers and google it.
i dunno..........something special about what duke said " WE ARE MORE THAN A BUNCH OF GUNS AND TANKS.......GET DOWN THERE AND TALK TO THE SUPPORT STAFF !" something??????? just something special about this moment............cause in the real world, no intel, no plan, no direction, no clues? means failure ! no matter what you got, cause if you don't deploy them correctly, you gonna loose the battle or worst.....the war ! thanks for the upload !
I like it...I remember when I used to watch the 80s cartoon I wanted them to be blood and killing in it anyway so this fulfils my dream. This was about the only thing that could compare to the 80s cartoon and I am talking about the early 80s not the late 80s. Everything since then that had anything to do with GI JOE sucked until RESOLUTE and the bad thing is that it was a mini-series:-(
Nope, can't be Firefly for sure. Look at 0:42, the dude's black, and Firefly is not black. I don't there was a black dude in Cobra for that matter. It's gotta be Doc.
That base under the sand, I read it can move around somehow so it can't be exposed when the wind blows the dunes away. Does anyone know if that's true?
yea thats spirt iron knife they shoot like all the main charecters in that brief metting all theres suits rock but watever happend to Gen.Hawk in the comic
Lets see, whos all there...Lady J, Stalker, Rock N Roll, Wild Bill, Road Block, Beach Head, I think thats Flint lower right, Doc, Gung Ho, Ship Wreck, whos the guy on the far upper left, arms crossed...not sure who the guy is next to cover-girl or the guy with the bandana
Good eye on Lady Jaye. It took me a while to realize she was wearing her hat (which was on her figure but not in the cartoon). The bandana Joe on Shipwreck's left is definitely Tunnel Rat
yeah it had a simple story and flashbacks that explained everything somehow it mde things fit in with the cartoon they should say it's a reboot which it was and make a catoon series to contiue it until the next movie.

wild bill's my favorite joe next to snake eyes and snow job!..a geat helicopter pilot and just the joe i'd trust to get my ass out of a hot dz zone!..yoooooooooo, joe!....]
I like this new G.I Joes series even thought its violent as hell. Dont get me wrong, I loved the 80s version when I was a kid, but now that Im an adult, it makes sense. If you are battling something that is evil, like Cobra, youre going to have a lot of casualties on both ends. Thats the nature of war. Yo Joe!!!!!
Now if only in the movie they could wear the attire, instead of those suits.. but then again this is G.I. Joe the suits in the movie should be during the end or something
For this to work, there'd need to be a lot of "kids." Current enlistment trends place the new G.I. Joe cartoon well outside fiction and squarely in the realm of fantasy. :P
Never heard of this version of G.I. joe but I like it.

All these years of great GI Joe cartoons and never a game to match that greatness. Where the hell is the game that allows me to play as Snake Eyes?

I've seen some gameplay of the Game for the movie and it looks decent.and you can play as Snake Eyes and some cobra soldiers aswell.

Umm, Gung-ho's "New favorite Joe" was Dial Tone. The IDW comics also have a female Dial Tone.

This is the best GI Joe program since the days of GI Joe A Real American Hero.
Snake Eyes is my favorite along with Scarlett, Duke and the female Dial Tone.

Is this the voice of Scott Mitchell from GRAW?
V15h0u5 2 years ago
I think so. He also did a voice acting for Wolverine in Wolverine and the X-Men which is not on adultswim.

For this to work, there'd need to be a lot of "kids." Current enlistment trends place the new G.I. Joe cartoon well outside fiction and squarely in the realm of fantasy. :P
