The Dalai Lama is recruting a replacement. Does it not seem strange that OTD supporters don't want to hear what Sharma Rinpoche, the man who was the closest disciple and friend of HHRRD has to say? Buddhism in any form has nothing at all to do with politics. TTD and OTD are both beautiful and should both be venerated for their love of us all.

Wow that kid looks a lot different than the adult "Urgyen Trinley" I'm almost starting to buy in to the switch rumors. He also looks fairly poorly behaved, perhaps even developmentally disabled, even more reasons it would be hard to pass him off as a tulku. If the switch did take place I wonder if he ended up in the same place his vanishing attendants did after he came out of a few month "retreat" a foot taller looking way different.

My point to try to raise awareness of what is going on here. Everything I have posted is not based on just some haphazard analysis of the clips on youtube - it's what I've been reading and hearing from teachers, both from the East and the West. Getting to the bottom of what is really going is our job as Buddhists and not just to believe in a teacher or teaching.

If there is one thing worth chewing on, for me it would be this: if it reasonable that the Chinese would kidnap and install their own Panchen Lama, why is not at least plausible in the case of the Karmapa?

Also, the CCP was not especially secretive in the case of announcing "their" Panchen Lama.

If I can be frank with you -- that's what frustrates me most about nearly all the TD supporters I've encountered. I would never get on a TD video & say the rude things that people say on OTD's videos and I've never seen any OTD's followers do this. But every OTD video has someone who is a follower of TD that is rude, personally attacking, & condescending.

I am from Tibet. Almost all Tibetans in side and outside Tibet believes in H.H. Ogyen Trinley Dorje. Most Tibetans has no idea who is Thaye Dorje. not to mention his is Karmapa!

As far as all Tibetans supporting Orgen Trinley, it's a bit deceiving to use that as a marker. It's well known that the Chinese do not let Tibetans teach their language or culture to their children. Is it really a big jump to consider they could suppress any information of Thaye Dorje, similar to Dalai Lama (no images of him are allowed in Tibet).

They're also not necessarily talking about people who are of Tibetan ethnic heritage either. The fact is that MORE Tibetan Buddhists, free to make their own choices, have felt a connection to Orgyen Trinley Dorje.

While that can't be the ONLY deciding factor, I'm just saying it should be *a* factor.

The fact of the matter is that Tibetans have never been well educated. That's why the teachings and meditations were sung, because the average Tibetan was illiterate and singing was a tool to remember things like that.

Tibetans will do what is most beneficial for themselves, it's the nature of their culture. You'll also see lamas still in Tibet supporting the Chinese, because it's practical. They can then receive material support from the government and protect their monestaries and students.

One main argument that is made, including by Robert Thurman, is that the majority of Tibetans support Orgyen Trinley. Since people have a tendency to be too politically correct and unwilling to criticize certain things, like religion or aspects of a culture, it is just taken at face value.

I can also tell you that Dalai Lama recognizes Thaye Dorje, although unofficially. Thaye Dorje's brother was recognized as a reincarnate Gelugpa lama.
