Actually at my school, one book says" the fighting between the Greek cities resulted in their weakening and eventual conquest. In 338 BCE, Philip II of Macedonia conquered Greece." Another book recreated a conversation between Indian King Porus and Alexander. Nowhere in the entire article did it mention Alexander being a Hellene or Greek. In fact they said Macedonian and Alexander being better then any Greek or Persian. Looks like failure is imminent for the Greek state.

My alphabet is greek (based on phenician but greeks created vowels) I write in english and french based on Latin itself based on greek alphabet.
Your argument "lingua franca" can't be used for this reason:
Romans wrote in greek? NO
Persians wrote in greek? No
Indians wrote in greek? No
Egyptians wrote in greek? No
Phenicians wrote in greek? NO
Ancient macedonians wrote in greek? YES
