As a result the YouTuber engages an automatic series of gestures and habits which are well practised during their incessant video blogs. Then the most disturbing moment occurs when, in a parallel of a meme in which a hip-hop star builds a bath tub in a car, a digital camera records the video display of another digital camera recording a baby.

The performances become strained; after the first five or six seconds their act begins to run dry up. The watching YouTuber--with whom they have been communicating, produces a quizzical expression. Usually on the Internet the users respond via text boxes but this time they are stumped for words because they have to now talk in real time to those present in the flesh.

The conversations are awkward as the team walk amongst the YouTube fanatics. Each reveals their username which is related to their real name but features an additional numeric. The YouTubers behaviour is informed by the presence of the camera, and by virtue of a lens in the vicinity they instigates a psychological connection mechanism, where they talk directly to the camera, as if interacting with a future online audience.

Despite hyperactive jabbers these humans strangely sedated by each others presence; gestures, conversations informed by presence of each others cameras. Knowledge that all behaviors where simultaneously mediated events mediated the future event of recorded history, uploaded to a disembodied audience.

Baltimore in chaos, with prior experience the team did not hesitate to leave, they returned to Philadelphia.

Team at shopping mall for cash and food - ego-dead congregated, staring into each others eyes, discussing jelly babies, licking ice creams at tables. Damon paused, 'We have to leave,' but auto-communicators did not jump from chairs and chase them but took turns to stare into camcorders passed around - a preliminary YouTube gathering before event in New York.
