    :D

  • Rad

  • Sounds like a Prophet 5 unison bass and some kinda analog string machine.

    yes yes YES!!!!!

  • butter foot work ^_^

  • COOL

  • "By the year 200 we will all dance like this".. I can't recall anyone dancing like that down at my local.

  • As a Futurist and experimental filmmaker, Vertov wrote in We: Variant of a Manifesto, "Our path leads through the poetry of machines, from the bungling citizen to the perfect electric man."

  • fotostat beat tik and tok by a mile. tik and tok wear glasses. look at fotostat. thier eyes stay open and never blink for the whole perfromance

  • Hey guys, this is Jeff Myers/Jeff Jinx, lead singer with 'I Am Alone', in 1982 we put you on the bill at quite a few of our London gigs - notably 'The Embassy Club'. I'm sure you went by the name 'Photostat Robots' back then. I was really impressed. This is the kind of thing you have to see live and up close. Look me up on FaceBook if you get the time. Best wishes! :)

  • there all good in there own way from robotruss the 80s

  • Fotostat i like better cause they actually look futurist, especially with these outfits! Way ahead of their time, 30 years ahead!, Shock Tik and Tok are quite good, but kinda freakishy for me. Fotostat are No.1 in robot dancing!

  • awesome... this was unique for the time and pretty entertaining. Alot of the street dance moves of present day originate from the movements from these artists.

  • I wish 'the future' turned out more like that. Instead it's Ke$ha and Kanye West bullshit.

  • Check out the other two rare Fotostat TV appearances I have just uploaded for this and Brave New World. Accessed from my username.

  • The best insight into the future since "Space 1999"

  • i remember what it was like at the height of robot dance mania in the uk... there would be all these "robot circles" where we would gather around in a semi-circle and watch 2 guys do the robot for what seemed like hours. sounds boring but its better than what the kids dance in circles to today!

  • Amen, brother.

  • yeah robocop haha

  • The music seems to be an early electro-pop, hard to discover with no vocals. Back then there was a whole sea of this kind of music nevertheless the image, the music, the dance moves, everything kicks ass!

  • sounds like form NES!

  • yeah, especially the polyphony and varied sound timbres ;]

  • electrapunk shags his hoover

  • this is awesome!! Waaaaaaaaay better than those STUPID dances and moves that idiotic pathetic wanna be rappers/hip hoppers are doing today. long live the electro 80s!!!

  • It's seems that we think exactly the same!

  • whats the name of this song

  • Photostat by Photostat

  • HI. jajajajjaaaaa, how cn i frget this, im edo nuñez n i was the 1st. dancer, now im living in colombia nd is soooooooooooo nice find this video again, tnks j.andrenocr. blesssssss

  • Thats how we roll baby!! Bringing back the 80's glory to life!! priceless, timeless video!

  • now thats what i call old school

  • I live in Surrey. Surrey existed in the 80s, in the way that it took all the money from the North and everyone wore red braces down South and had big phones... I lived in the north in the 80s, and the only people there who had red braces got them twanged against their nipples... they deserved it, just like the money grabbers who are now stuffed in the 2000s.

Robotic dancing done this well is very cool, though. Can anyone do a red brace twang in a robotic stylee? If so, let's have a video of it.

  • WOW--i cant believe i found this--my brother used to dance robotic to this,as an interlude to fashion shows in the early 80s. Hes 44 now and still has electric blue hair!!!

  • glad you like hi there from fotostat COPPULL and a happy new year markstat

  • thanks for replying--you guys are the best.

  • Ive got this 7" single by them. They were great. I DID live through the 80s, and it was fantastic! Its great theres lots of new synth and electro acts about in 2008. Although I live in 1983, I still by vinyl if it's good synth!

  • I remember these guys coming to the "Top Rank" night club in Reading around 1982. They also tried releasing a record call "Brave New World" which was pretty rubbish and never did very well. They also appeard on UK T.V "Swap Shop" singing their single and dancing, think I still have it on video tape somehwere. Great dancers though and inspired many others on the dance floor. The 80's were the best......

  • glasgow never had it so good!

i think i remember these chaps from way back when... long live the new flesh!

  • Those clothes look like somethin that will come out in 2020!! Very cool futurist video

  • They look like they'd like to make robot love.

  • LOL

  • The 80's were the Best

  • i give anything 2 go to school in the 80s im 19 i lived threw 89

  • im 19 too and living in the 80s lol =)

  • welcome to the 80's (young!) guy !!

  • Where are they now?!!

  • Both living in New York.

  • the 80s....i love the 80s. im 19 by the way....i wear to 80s club too all the time! and dress 80s occasionally

  • yh its true we hav...

  • yes i thought the future in the 80s would be great space opera, us being on space stations wiuth robots etc. Little did I think it would be catering for te worst powers of a 1984 situation. Yes we have gone backwards. Breakdance turned into gangster rap nasa lies to us about mars & other findings aids cures withheld ufo technology silenced free energy suppressed do I need to go on?

  • No don't go on midguardz LOL still I agree with what you say the future has been a giant let down it is I thought we would be exploring space with Starthips by now and electric cars would be everywhere

I guess we really had no idea how backward and stupid a lot of the conservative policitians really were and are , especially New Labour

  • I also second that notion! Backwards modern society. The 80s was more futurisk than this "present" day.

  • By the year 2000 we will all dance like this?

If only, the future was then. We have gone backwards, very funny that,..

  • Does anyone know where the Ultratech club was?? Is it still open with a different name?

  • yes, the place is called supersymtech club now, its changed it a while

  • That song is gangster as fuck. Where can I get it?

  • Can i get hold of this track on cd

  • Baby Robo-Rockers with an attitude for the cyber sweeties out there! Astro, you old space dog! Bury that bone boyo!!! SB

  • please post pete townsend uniforms vd with fotostat if you have it out there and rick james vd its out there some where thanks all

  • hi there glenn

  • sorry..just watched this again and i'm afraid it's just a bit too camp for me! Tik And Tok are the masters of robotics, and yes they can rock...check out the Intolerance album or the new tracks on their MySpace site.

  • I disagree, I think Fotostat and Tik & Tok were equally camp! I can't take robot dancing too seriously, after all, it's just a bit of fun really, and the 80's campness was all a part of that :-)

  • check out fotostat when they became (sons of valentino) single just dreaming rocking

  • I remember buying this single when it came out, still have it with a load of old 80's 7"s.Sadly doesn't stand the test of time as well as the likes of foxx/Kraftwerk etc.Strangely remember seeing them on the tube - Bakerloo Line one day after this single came out.Their only single? B-side of "Fotostat" was almost exactly the same as A side.

  • I'll maybe upload some more Fotostat later. I've got about 30 full 3 hour tapes of stuff to sort through though. I still like this track, sounds like something out of an 80's sci-fi film, e.g. the Blade Runner / Vangelis stuff.

  • Bet Tik & Tok couldn't rock though - you should have seen these guys by the end of the eighties!

  • well thank you from fotostat

  • yep, u were good and look how we dance now ;)

  • I don't think you can compare these "blokes" to Tik & Tok ! Sean & Tim...I think your jobs are safe !

  • I disagree. Each duo were good in their own way, they just had differing styles.

  • this video is great...

  • all us robots are cool lol we are all good in our own way

  • Skywinker I remember them supporting Gary Numan and I agree

  • I had always wondered what Tony Blair did before he got into politics. Now I know.

  • Sorry guys ,but Tik and Tok were ,and still are the Masters.
