  • this has blown me away, so beautiful!

  • Great!

  • probably the best non Peter Gabriel version.

  • @syndrah: y comment on my comment? i think ur just jealous that u didnt come up with that first

  • this is a disgrace to niggaz everwhere

  • @Turt1ehump why the comments. be respectful your comments is completely unjustified nor even wanted.

  • @syndrah "comments is"??? how about u grow a brain and shoot it out with the biggest gun u have. Please attend your elementary class this coming school year.

  • @Turt1ehump Bit un PC, but make me lol

  • GREAT!

  • Breath-taking. Best thing on the entire internet (imho).

  • Excellent performance gentlemen. It was so good in fact that I started to clap at the end, thinking I was there watching it live! (I have GOOD speakers).

  • nice. really nice. Made my day.

  • Great performance! Lead singer was excellent, it was hard to tell but he looked a little nervous :-)

    Background singers were incredible.

  • Dorky dress sense, but fantastic version guys,!!!!!

  • @memriloc Well they are north americans :O)) and why are they taking the piss out of gingas? lol

  • this is a nice version

  • His voice is absolutely beautiful. 3 years old, but still amazing guys!

  • Where can I get this arrangement?

  • wow....

  • Beautiful!!!!!

  • Anybody have the words/lyrics printed out so I can read them?

  • Climbing up on Solsbury Hill I could see the city light Wind was blowing, time stood still Eagle flew out of the night He was something to observe Came in close I heard a voice Standing stretching every nerve I had to listen had no choice I did not believe the information Just had to trust imagination My heart going boom-boom-boom Son, he said, grab your things I've come to take you home
  • When illusion spin her net I'm never where I want to be And liberty, she'd pirhouette When I think that I am free Watched by empty silhouettes Who close their eyes but still can see No one taught them etiquette I will show another me Today I don't need a replacement I'll tell them what the smile on my face meant My heart going boom-boom-boom Hey, I said, you can keep my things They've come to take me home
  • i did not know this song was christian

  • And for the most part, the song does draw on Christian influences and imagery, but Peter Gabriel explained the song as being about how you must be prepared to lose what you are in order to be what you will become.

  • Pretty spectacular.

  • That really tugged at my emotions. For the most part, you guys really nailed this song in a way that most other covers fail to manage.

Just a minor suggestion, and you can take this how you want, but I always thought the last verse of this song should be sung with a bit of venom. To me, the last few lines are about proving wrong those who doubted you and tried to hold you back. A bit more spite in the lead singers voice would certainly lend to some extra intensity towards the end.

  • RIght now, this song means so much to me, and you have given it such a great and moving rendition!

  • i dont particulary like this song but the performance, wow amazing and the voice.... no words... this guy probably only do it for pleasure

  • fantastic

  • Nice spelling Turtlehumper! Why do you want to be full of hate while listening to a beautiful message.

Jealous? I wish I could sing like an angel too.

At least you've got your trolling to fall back on.

How much does that pay anyway?

  • nice grammar nosey

  • awesome.

  • maybe so, but it's a tribute to skill, music, and not being a douche like yourself.

  • you're a disgrace to the human race

  • ya these guys r coo. The christian undertones really come out in this version eh?

  • just flat out remarkable..where are these guys from?

  • This is AWESOME! Great job !

  • Very nice, your voice is really strong!

  • uhm...wow, you go do better you fucking fag. that comment was completeyl uncalled for.

  • Great job. But to sloooow for me!

  • i love this.

  • Great job!

  • Ohhh nooo,,,!!!!

  • just lovely....peter would be proud!!!

  • amazing, maaaaaan! it hits me!

  • AMAZING WOWOWOWOW

  • Absolutely... absolutely fantastic....

  • most beautful song ever. :'D

  • i was raised aetheist

when i heard this as a boy, thats when i knew there was a God

and he could give up on us if we didnt change

    take it as you will

it still brings tears to my eyes

    peace love and truth

  • i´m a christian. who was an aetheist This brings tears to my eyes as well. Wonderful rendition.

    God bless ! :-)

  • I meant to insert a smiley, :-)

  • Too bad the song is about Gabriel seeing a Springsteen show.

  • its about Peter choosing to leave Genesis after his baby was born very sick, the "son, i've come to take you home" is about when he ran away as a child and his father found him and said that. Gabriel has told this story in many, many interviews and it's in his biography. It's not a religious reference.

  • I never said it was religious. I have never heard about his baby, but I'll take your word for it. He often said that it was about seeing Springsteen in concert and giving him the courage to leave Genesis and going solo.

The Eagle in "eagle flew out in the night" is Bruce.

  • I've heard that, too. Apparently he hated the concert: "I had to listen, I had no choice."

  • I believe that, since it gave him the confidence to go out on his own, he liked the concert.

"I had no choice" feels to me like "it was so good, I had to listen".

It's only my opinion, though, but it seems logical.

  • Bowed Oak, Peter may have said all of this, but tell me. Do you honestly think that this song, the Blood of Eden, Here Comes the Flood, In Your Eyes, The whole "Lamb" album, Supper's Ready, etc.etc. have no spiritual references? Oh never mind. Just forget I said it.

  • Seems to me that BowedOak says that THIS particular song has no religious reference.

It doesn't mean that there is none anywhere.

  • Superb - very hard to do, but they did it magnificently.

  • Comment removed

  • I even prefer this to the original.

  • fantastic

  • Beautiful, enchanting :-)

  • found this by accident,or was it. Very powerful ,great, what voices...thanks

  • for soem reason this reminds me of lion king

  • How lucky are the people who were there to watch!! The lead singer has a strong, clear voice...to be able to sing over the others, and he never faltered.

  • Really Great! Glad I found this!

  • Excellent.

  • Superb arrangement! So well done and a fantastic tribute to the original. Wow.

This rendition is fabulous, better than the original.

  • amazing version

  • LOVE IT !

  • Absolutely beautiful. I have always loved this song. I don't know which is more haunting, the music or lyrics, but these kids captured the very essence of the song. Thank you so much for sharing.

  • This is by far the greatest rendition of Solsbury Hill I've ever heard - and surprisingly you've restored my faith in A Capella songs because most songs i hear a garbage - this is a wonderful AMAZING piece!!!!!

  • lovely jubbly

  • why did you not let the applause run long enough?

  • beatiful voice and ofcouse masterpiece song

  • Absolutely insperational. Best regards from a Texan Brit.

  • well done. beautiful.

  • Erm, as someone who lived in Salisbury, Wiltshire for a while, the song is different from the place. The song is Solsbury Hill, but the real Salisbury is spelt differently, I'm not sure why but there we go.

  • Taytayway is correct

    Good version gentlemen

  • Hey SpartanDrumhead,

Just to let you know. The song is about a place in England..the UK..herd of it?

Not New England as you think. And that is how it's spelled.

  • Actually the song is about Peter Gabriel leaving Genesis. but we'll let Bygone's be bygones lol

  • Yeah, if you see my reply to peachy-whatever, you'll notice that I quickly realized that I was incorrect. My apologies

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its call sophistication, unlike america where u say every thng phoneticly

  • Just to give you a heads up, we don't pronounce everything phonetically (for those of us who can't spell even simple words like "thing"). Could you please pronounce Haverhill, Leominster, Woburn or Merrimack? These are all New England town names. Granted, some did origionate from merry old England, but seriously, think before you speak and incorrectly poke fun at a region you know very little about.

  • By the way, just in case you're wondering, Haverhill...(Hay-vrille)...Leominster...(Lemon-ster).....Woburn...(Woo-bern)...Merrimack,(Mer-ra-mack

  • Also, after posting my original comment, I quickly realized that I was incorrect.

  • well there we go :)

    lol

sorry anyway wuz in a bit of a shit mood when i poster tht, so apolgies.

Lets jsut agree that this vid is beautiful :)

  • Magnifique interprétation... Merci pour cet agréable moment

  • SUBLIME!!!

  • Jackz7 could've done a better job labelling this... this is the summer 2006 lineup of the The Hyannis Sound. Their site is at hyannissound dot com. The gorgeous studio version of this arrangement was just released on CD this past week, and should be available soon on a-cappella dot com.

  • My heart went "Boom! Bo0m! Bo0oM!" when I heard this!!! Awesome! AWESOME! Incredible! Fantastic! My sincere congratulations for them wherever they are! :))

  • Who are these guys ???

In the mean time we put up with utter garbage on idol, it is a sin I say.

Rock on and God bless guys, you rock.

  • This song has been returning to my consciousness for the entire week - it's now a part of me. Cool arrangement, nice bell parts, great intensity by the percussionist at that final crash, and a wonderful solo. Micah, ditch this gig, I hear American Idol tryouts are any day now.

  • Great singing, and that soloist's sure got chops on him!
