in other words, they STOLE from those poor grieving people. They LIED to them, and buried EMPY coffins, or LIED and said that they cremated the remains. Who knows what they gave those people's families? This is an outrage. Dealing with death and loss is hard enough. These people should have to pay back every penny they stole from grieving families.

The owner is gonna fight it? How does someone even show their fucking FACE after stacking 40 decomposing bodies in a "garage"?

Why couldn't someone just fire up the furnace and ash the remains like they were supposed to? For the bodies to be in non-recognizable condition they had to be there a VERY unreasonable period of time, which is not only unacceptable, it's flat out wrong. And this asshole is gonna fight to have this facility reinstated?

Disgraceful. Everyone should take the time to research funeral homes and crematoriums in their area before something happens. It may not be pleasant, but it is better to be prepared. As someone who lives in Maryland, you would be better off finding a business in VA to do this. Sad but true. Like another commenter here said, the funeral industry loses money on cremations, so bad businesses will try to make a profit another way.

I use to work for a funeral home for 5 years. I can tell you what happened: The families paid for a simple cremation & burial at sea. They never cremated the bodies because it saved them a ton of $ not to. On a month where the funeral home made a lot of $ they would cremate the bodies because of the high profits of the month would out-weigh the cost of cremation/burial at sea.

@SovietNinjah I thought the same thing. Maybe the bodies were rotting so badly, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to identify. The rotting bodies could be a health risk if not cremated very soon. Maybe, two days is enough for the investigators to identify the remains. Perhaps after some investigation, the authorities can determine whose remains those were by the records kept at that funeral home. I'm just speculating...

mabey they have a reuseable casket that they charge people to be buried in and then just dump the body after the funeral, fill in the empty hole, and resale the casket... whatever theyre doing its fucked up. they were proably tring to sell them as cadavers or something like that.. how would you like to have paid for a funeral and get that?
