  • I love you Stevie... I was only 3 when you died, but your music lives on forever!!!

  • Thanx Stevie ....Rock ONNNN.....VIVA VAUGHAN!!!

  • A - Anonymous

  • The only real question here is whether or not he knew he was being recorded....

  • @etbradley i agree. Ive seen many taped and the speaker was aware and agreed prior. As there "are no accidents in Gods world" then even this(no matter how it has come about) is "exactly as it is supposed to be at this moment, Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in Gods world by mistake." chapter *Acceptance was the answer* or Dr, alcoholic, addict.

  • If this was recorded at an AA meeting, it is a serious breach of our 12 tradition concerning anonymity; even as a famous sober celebrity known to millions, no one has the right to publicly release the words SRV spoke at a 12 Step meeing. Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all of AA's principles. Shame on you for ingoring that.

  • @TheoBurke recording of AA speakers is quite common and accepted. it is a great way to share the message. Even using the AA's last name is ok, after they have passed away.

  • @etbradley Read the 11th and 12 steps again:

" 11. Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio, and films. 12. Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities."

Speaker tapes are common place in the AA community, yes, but the fact remains that you, as an individual, do not have the right to break SRV's anonymity.

  • badass

  • I go to AA over NA just like Stevie. Miss and love you brother! RIP

  • I cried when he died, but I smile for the way he lived...

  • How did stevie pass?

  • @broadcastmyass4u

I think he went the same way as Buddy Holley, in a helicopter crash

  • Its a damn shame, the man got clean, got his life in order, then had to die....what a waste

  • He needs to go to NA.

  • @Brycelayne

wrong---12steps is twelve steps and alcohol is a drug--- dummy

  • 3:35 brought a tear to my eye

  • Best damn AA Speech i have ever heard.

  • You hear in a story what you soul and unconscious interconnects to, reminds me again of Bill W.- Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in God's world by mistake. Until I could accept my alcoholism, I could not stay sober; unless I accept life completely on life's terms, I cannot be happy.

  • @wdstckdr1 Car accidents aren't mistakes? Making a typo isn't a mistake? You've never made a mistake? Mistakes happen all the time.

  • one day at a time is music to my ears

  • In the last days you will try and kill yourself and can't... awesome and in my book also:

FREE On books4free dot c o m - Hippopotamus Sea: My Viral Sobriety

  • addiction is a slow suicide attempt

  • wow he gave up drugs in 1986...and was killed in a freak helicopter crash in 1990. I guess he'll ask his higher power for a full refund.

  • Best guitar player I have seen. Miss his music, Miss the fun, I don't miss my meetings, and I think of him when I wander in thought about my issues.

What great footprints he has left for us to admire. I miss Stevie Ray Vaughn.

  • Rock on Stevie ...

  • /watch?v=TrNIuFrso8I

  • Same story. Different details. These are all things addicts and alcoholics have in common.

  • @axebud most addicts aren't the best guitar player in the world though.

3000 professionals & Dr Hirzy testifying before Congress representing 7000 EPA workers thats 10,000 professionals warning people not to Drink NeuroToxin=Fluoride, Hitler used High doses at camps keep people in zombie state see book Fluoride The DEVILS POISON, Higher the dose different effects

  • @deadadelta So what about toothpaste? Should it not contain fluoride? Is fluoride and fluorine the same thing? How many ppm is considered a risk to accute damage? Chronic damage? What are the alternatives? Why do British people have nasty teeth?

  • @sirmcgowington Why do white trash like you have half of your teeth missing? Meth!

  • @McDago100 You are a tweena. You're all white yourself, but you're inbetween what you want to be. You want to be another color so you'll get some cred and respect.

You ought to get "I'm a puss" tatooed onto your buttcheeks.

  • @sirmcgowington Blue is the violet, red is the rose, they said bend over and touch your toes, flowers are purple and sometimes pink, I heard you got bent over a sink.

You talk so tough, like you are a man, I heard Jose popped your can. Your moody like a girl on the rag, we all know your such a fag. Whether on your knees or against a wall, we know you answer to Reggie and Jamaal. Oh well, tinkerbell.

Roses are red, violets are whack, damn Yo mama smells like ass crack.

Roses are red, violets are blue, what Yo mama needs is a good shampoo.

Roses are red, violets are blue, a bitch like Yo mama belongs in a zoo.

Roses are red, violets are blue, Yo mama's breath smells like five day old stew.

What does your sister do when she wakes up? Walks home.

  • @sirmcgowington I think this is rgbthe most great work of art! You have true talent You could have thge little poem published! It could make millions!

  • i still struggle with the drink,, i find it hard to quit,, even though i have so many reasons not to,, it's tough,,

  • @kdw456 I can only think of two good reasons to abstain from booze; I can't control the amount that I drink once I start, and I can't stay away from the first drink no matter how strong the desire, want, need, consequences, etc.

  • @sirmcgowington absolutely,, thats me,, what can i say.. **/

  • @kdw456 You need say nothing... until you find out where you are.

If you can stay sober/clean on mind control/rational thoughts/choice of any kind, do it!

If you can stay sober/clean on Love Thy Neighbor, do it.

But if that's not working, you need help. Get it.

  • Where are you my friend? WE need to talk

I'm not French. I'm American. My dad is the first of my lineage to the New World and I'm not Catholic. I had to leave the Church as I make the holy water boil when I touch it.

  • @Richcool79 Rich. You gotta quit posting in here with invisible fonts.

    Think more, type less.

  • @sirmcgowington Back to the topic at hand.

RIP SRV. It's a shame that the XAers have to come in and bash a method that worked for their favorite artist, one of the best of all time.

  • I HAVE BEEN SOBER 50 YEARS AND I AM ONLY 30! I wonder how that happened? not really I am really 100 years old!

  • Drunks helping other drunks. That's A.A. If you want to go to your dentist to fix your knee, that's fine with me.

  • @sirmcgowington The blimd leasding the blind? I hope indeed you are enlightened But I still think you are cool as I enjoy your words of wisdom. the doors of the Legion 12 open for you.

  • Respond to this video... At least 1 person understande the 12th step!!!

  • You could also smoke a doobie.

Hey, it's 4:20! Go poke some smot.

Addiction can be a disease, if you really really want it bad enough.

But don't equate alcoholism to addiction.

    Alcoholic=alcoholic. End of story.

  • Any fool can be an addict. Only a select few become actual alcoholics.

If you're not alcoholic and/or don't like booze, that's wonderful. You have nothing to offer but an opinion.

Drugs are illegal and will make your ass hurt eventually. Some that drink don't wind up in prison and get sore asses, so to each his own I guess.

  • @sirmcgowington take your own inventory

  • @pattontjr2000

    Ok.

    Resentful at..........the cause...... affects my

Pattrontjr2000.......has no balls.. self esteem, I have too big of balls

........security......., I need to share my balls

........ambition, I want to give Pattron balls

........personal relations, real men HAVE balls

.........sex relations, and we have the biggest balls of them all

  • @sirmcgowington OK, back on topic. SRV lived the right way. He got sober. He died sober. His death was untimely. But he amended a life that got a little bit off track, same as most of us. You're an atheist and offended by those who seek spiritual principles? Too bad. I don't care much because I can't relate to you.

  • @sirmcgowington Whenever you've got a recovered alcoholic taking the time to talk to the new alky, you've got A.A.

A.A. is not a book, a thing you do, a place you live... it's a way you live. It's here to stay. Mark my words.

  • He did die in a helicopter crash but he had a long and rough battle with drugs and alcohol that almost killed him but he got sober in the late eighties. He died in 1990 which it appears is the same year this speech took place. The other post is either wrong if its implying that alcohol and drugs killed him or its worded bad.

  • I thought he got killed in a helicopter crash.

  • sick and tired of being sick and tired RIP RAVE ON BRO

  • He really drank, I mean he REALLY drank. It makes me so sad, such a great talent and man who fell prey to a disease that is so powerful and DEADLY. He died months after he spoke literally. Alcoholism is very powerful, you just have to DO The steps...

  • This makes me sad hearing all this but at the same time makes me happy cuase God had mercy on SRV he could've took him when he was on drugs but he didn't. SRV was a wonderful he person he had a big heart. He loved to help people and make people smile even when he was on drugs he sitll wanted to help people.I really miss sRV. Not just from a musical side but as a person too. It's a good thing he sobered up before his sad death in 1990. God had Mercy on him. RIP Stevie Ray!!!! Oct 3-August 27 1990

  • Does anyone know where this was recorded? I used to go to meetings in Birmingham AL at the Southside clubhouse and legend had it that Stevie spoke there once. Awesome message here, I relate on so many levels.

  • cool stuff,

    amazing musician,

  • michlimania i saw his finall concert he was a strong and righteous human being. and you call him a dead fuck. your a loser a little man. who knows nothing of life. you are struggling with a thing called reality. aa cant cure ignorance, you walk in the darkness so you threfore dont seek the light. little mind always finds a big mouth. sucks being you!

  • You might be right about AA... You just have to get a point where you're gonna die that you go there. I fucking hated it, I mean hated it!! It was life or death for me though.

  • I'm finally trying to get sober after 48 years. Been to over 100 AA meetings in the last 4 months along with an outpatient program. Have heard a lot of leads, but this one is special.

    God Bless You Stevie.

  • don't let them kid u man - it does indeed get better - and better - 10 years without a drink is Gods gift to me. My Gift to God is sober breath.

  • sobriety is the greatest give that you can give to yourself and others.

  • RIP, Stevie Ray, RIP.

  • YOU GIVE ME STRENGTH BLESS YOU

  • Stevie is telling my story, I just hope mine ends up with sobriety like he did.

  • @sixstringer311 You posted this comment 2 years ago, "Stevie is telling my story, I just hope mine ends up with sobriety like he did." Hows it going? I hope well stranger. If not, maybe someday it will.
