Every TAS speedrun starts at the first frame of the game (@0:02 since the first 2 seconds are the logo), and it ends when the last input is pressed, which is just before the star appears (i'm able to jump before so that i dont need to press any button after it).

Just find a way to doorskip the 8 star door to the Gomboss Battle to unlock Mario, and then doorskip the door that the BitFS key goes to with Mario (if it doesn't load without the key then it should if you touch the back of the door). Then you can win with 0 stars and possibly faster than the N64 version.

when you get the key to unlock Mario's door, it might be faster if you grab it with your tongue while off the edge (I've done this before) because then you would come out of the painting as if you died but still have the key - might be faster than doing the key dance

We worked together on almost every part of the TAS Even if one of us completed in the end a part alone, that part was improved by the other person before. Then ALAKTORN was the one that made us getting good strats for the glitchs possible (with texture hacks) and I was the one that kept editing the file in case something was improved.

Well unless I'm mistaken is the near 4 hour RobWest92 purely SS (no save warps and reseting the game)? Paraxade0's run uses the Back in Time glitch and the Rupee Dive for early Lakebed, 2 things that will never happen in an SS run because of how tough they are to execute (and not to mention Parax's run is segmented as well).

Segmented is like Single segment but the biggest difference is that not only you can save (to warp or get better optimization later on like a tough speed trick/fight, etc) but you can do produce the run in more than 1 sitting. On one of Paraxade0's segments a 50 second segment that requires a rupee dive to early Lakebed took 3 days alone to produce. See my New Super Mario Bros 100% speed run, that is a good example of why it has 45 segments and not 1 single segment (rare items).
