@Bukuri09 Nice! A 1 month vacation? That's just the Roppongi Hills (high class restaurants), but there are cheap places to eat at that aren't hard to find (IMO) and I guess if you've never been to Japan before the food will be fine. I think after 3 months of eating out everyday I got sick of ramen, curry, omurice, okonomiyaki, and all the typical Jpnse foods you can think of. I'm not sick of kaiten sushi though lol. I cook for myself now but its as expensive as going to a cheap place to eat.

Sure, you can get a burger in the US for $1 but that burger is barely even a burger, it's full of preservatives and is more thin than a razor blade. The burger in this video should be compared to a burger you get at an American diner. Those cost about the same and maybe a little extra for fries.

@starblaze16 I would imagine it's the "foreignness" of the food that drives the prices up. I'm going to assume you're either American or British; have you ever been to a Japanese restaurant? I'm sure it doesn't cost them $15 to make a plate of sushi, but it's the foreign appeal - the fact that you can't just get this stuff everywhere - that drives the prices up. That said, I would have imagined hamburgers would commonplace, even in Japan, so I'm not sure how accurate this hypothesis of mine is.
