Its not sad, its actually helping the fish, because when the fish go in the ladder they prevent people from catchingthem and saves the eggs from trout,if there was no hatchery the creek would be fished out in a week

yo i jest went there this years run, it was awsome caught a 41 pounder,i havent been there since i was three.i am now 13 i dont use sisy line like 20 or 30 pound test i use 120 pound test. if anything my rod will break before my line :p

Yes the purpose is to make it up from where they were hatched and lay more eggs.

some get by, some make a left up the fish ladder into the hatchery. They harvest the females and raise them to re-stock. They do this with Brown, Rainbow and Steelhead from that hatchery

Okay, 1st off this is my home river and that is an fact a gate, which does direct them to a fish ladder where scientists can gather information about the fish, eggs and sperm to insure that the salmon keep coming to that river and continue to thrive. That is NOT A DAM. Also, fishing below the hatchery is completely legal, and we have seen record numbers of big HEALTHY fish in the last few years.

LOL, you guys crack me up. First of all its a gate not a dam. The gate directs the salmon over to the hatchery ladder where the salmon will be collected for sperm and eggs. Its a artificial fishery so the salmon that make it to the gate were not born in that river, they are hatchery fish. And the that river is highly off limits to fishing

i loveeee fishing but jesus keeping the fish back like that so they can be caught is rediculos. Salmon are not doing very good around here anymore. i say ban catching them for 10 years :) i never fish them anyway :)

holly those chinook are big i kawt fish like that down in the himber river in woodbrige. the biggest i caught i think was around 35 pounds
