the vet assistant doesnt know how to disable the cat. You dont press down u pinch that spot and pull up gently. So they can cant move or roll. Novice....
Imagine if on that cat´s place there´d be a huge maine coon male. Like.. over 10kg?? The doctor could state when arriving home "had a near-death-experience today"! :D
You should consider a vet clinic that knows how to handle cats and one that does not vaccinate at the nap of the neck. You should never vaccinate cats at the nap of the neck.
bcs4agility - completely agree. While watching this I was embarrassed for the vet & the assistant. That definitely was not the way to handle that poor cat.
I can't believe the owner wasn't afraid of picking her up. My cat would have torn me up if I had touched it while it was in that state. They must have a very good relationship.
Looks like my cat Annie who also hates the vet but not like that. One time, as the vet put a thermometer into her butt to take her temp, Annie screamed and then she farted. It was hilarious!
Waterbearer - good. Make sure you let your clients know that you don't like cats & don't know how to handle them. I hate nothing more than to see my fellow veterinary colleagues who despise working with cats not be forthcoming with clients about it.
lol wel i like cats, but this shows that they dnt really like vets =/ so my goal now is 2 work at the zoo with the tigers and help make sure that they dnt go exstinct =)
Thanks for the laugh! My siamese did the same thing - took 2 technicians and a vet (at the same time) to treat her and she screamed like a banshee the whole time.
lol, i like how she falls off the table

This could all be prevented by giving the cat a tranquilizer pill at home.

yeah that putty cat looks a little upset. but notice how the cat doesn't hurt the owner/maid. The cat loves her.

The vaccine was given in the shoulder, not the neck. That was probably the FVRCP ("combo") vaccine.

They should've covered the kitty's head with a cloth the entire time so it would be more calm. Poor kitty. :)
discorecords 3 years ago
covering her head with the cloth just makes her even angrier and more difficult to control.
squarebale 3 years ago
Very true. Some cats are calmed by it, others get worse. Same with dogs and muzzles.
