Eddie does justice to this song, because he respects Andy Wood and the music he wrote. Nobody can sing it like Andy, but I'm happy that Pearl Jam are introducing it to a new generation of fans who wern't even alive when MLB were around.
Gives me a vibe like "Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix does for me; the song is too gorgeous and painfully too short. Good songs like this give you that great feeling that you don't want to end, R.I.P. Andy Wood.
It's nice to think that Andy Woods can rest easy knowing that his work with Mother Love Bone ultimately led to the conception and inspiration of one of the greatest rock bands in history, Pearl Jam. RIP man.

@heartpony123 Andy Wood died of a drug overdose. Motherlovebone was on the brink of becoming huge when it happened. About 1990 as grunge was just becoming huge across country and globably.

The guy made one record, basically one hit, it was good but quit the dramatics people, vedder knew him Pj knew him they get emotional.....most of us didnt... "miss you andy" "when andy left us" "is was taken from us too soon" settle down everyone....
@nardo363636 You're right. I better go smash my CD collection. I thought I had a connection all these musicians through their music, but I guess nobody does since nardo363636 told me so. i'm only 13 and i love pearl jam, mother love bone, temple of the dog, and green river i'm pretty much the only one my age that listens to good music. crown of thorns is one of my favorite mlb songs and pearl jam did a GREAT COVER OF IT. r.i.p Andrew Wood , Landrew the Love Child

I'm glad that you guys are coming to Peru, this going to be my dream come true after all of this twenty years, since my last year at high school through college's years until now, has been a long and beautiful trip and I expect to be a least twenty more years of wonderful music.
It is amazing how great bands never fade... many memories go along with these guys. Some good, some bad, but it was all done to a great soundtrack! These songs still sound great to me after so long. Sometimes you hear a song after several years, and you think "what the hell was I into this for". Not Pearl Jam! Love you guys!

I'm sure the hairs are standing on Andrew Woods (RIP) neck, as he listens to this great song. Long may his lyrics be remembered and sung.........
