  • Great song. Reminds me of old Front Line Assembly

  • None of you is right, this is obviously rap...

  • God Bless Leather Strip.

  • This is what i call industrial musik, long time relationship with the dark movement. I know all

  • @spread1971 Genuine industrial music utilizes, at least in part, actual industrial equipment to make sounds. Einsturzende Neubauten, for example. The word industrial is incorrectly overused. Although bands like leather Strip may use electronics to create industrial-sounding noises, it's electronica.

  • I heard this song when I was younger and have been on the hunt for it. Thank you SO freaking much for posting this!

  • All this fantastic EBM/Elektro only seems to have lasted between 1987-1996.

I remember because the quality of the output of all the big bands just dropped like a stone after 1996. The lyrical content became a joke, self referential greasy kid stuff. The bands that became popular in the States because of the RAS DVA comp just crapped out in a very short time.

Hard to believe that many of them continue fifteen years later. The Third wave + of EBM/Elektro leaves me flat I'm sorry to say.

  • @coffinblaze. Since I´m diagnosed with aspergers I think I have a few thing to say about the subject. Good Evening! :)

  • fuck yeah,!!!!!!

  • old or not one of the essential industrial albums- every track- solid

  • If you like Leather Strip, I recommend to you this band of Ebm/electro/industrial: DEVOUT, Writes in you tube:

    - DEVOUT All empires fall

    - DEVOUT Eternal conflict

    - DEVOUT Fragility

    - DEVOUT Zombie nation

  • @underworld : LLoyds Insurance, the same architect as Centre Pompidou in Paris.

  • I think the building in the image is a place in London City.

  • Claus Larsen dreams about being in the place of the girl that's being raped.

  • .0. I LOVE that beat at the beginning....gives me lady tingles :D

  • it looks like the plants i work in to bad they dont paly this song while im working

  • its good music

  • Shut the fuck up all aspergers nerds with your bleeding genre discussion and LISTEN !!!!!!

  • @alexnordh

First off alex the horny, you should never have opened your god damn mouth. Being a nerd, dork, or geek, is COMPLETELY different than having aspergers which is a social disorder. Second off, if you told me (a nerd) to stfu, you would have your testicles sown to your damn thighs and i would drill above all your teeth til they fell out and id choke you with them. Because i do have aspergers, and calling people nerds which are WAY out of your league, is pathetic. GET. A. LIFE!

  • awesome futurepop dungeon mix would love to hear this played at t garden

  • Claus said himself that he was electro industrial with the emphasis on INDUSTRIAL!

  • Strap me down with desillusion....i dont know ...why label it into EBM or Industrial...this is Epic and very danceble......so label along guys ...I just enjoy the track...

  • This album,is the best!

  • Those pipes need more rust.. they seem too .. "Shiny"

  • As far as I know "EBM" is a term invented by electronic music pioneers Front 242. Leaether Strip contains a lot of ingredients of industrial music, but also more complex and fast rythms, as electronica. That's why they can be put under the umbrella-term of electro-industrial. But who cares, it is good music, that's what matters. Nothing beat their early records in the genre

  • Nice!

  • Elektro-Industrial - Hellektro.

Wumpscut and Hocico is nice stuff too.

  • why is there a pop band mixed with integrity? lool@leather strip

  • going to a march show in philly as well!!! woot

  • Leaether Strip is labeled as EBM , but also industrial so I guess you could label LS as IBM as well..

  • This song is just flat out epic!

  • cant wait to see him in march! been a fan for over 15 years..and he's finally coming to the states!

  • @dyinginternaly My comment did state that I was talking about industrial metal, if leatherstrip are strictly EBM

I appollogise. I am not into EBM and have yet to find any that I can say I really like. Like I said this tune is good

but I wouldn't bother downloading it. I'm sorry if this style of music reminds me of bands such as Orgy or Godhead. I made the post because those bands kick ass and I want that type of music in my life.

  • does anyone know any of the films or whatnot these samples were taken from?

  • wumpscut on the run is alot like this. lolz i think it was intended to be too xD

  • This songs really good, but its nothing compared to stuff by Orgy, Videodrone, Godhead I know i'm talking Industrial metal but where can I find Industrial music like that. Anyone ?

  • @electricEntity81 hocico has songs like this

  • Haaaa,

    This makes me feel Good.

I remember punching and kicking my way on the dance floor of Kontrol Factory - does anyone remember. People need to stop subcategorizing "Industrial, EMB, SynthPop" into desiminated factions. Everyone is way to busy trying to be right.

Ride the evolution of music. You like what you like. Be yourself and be proud of it. Of coarse we are now a diverse community, divided by age and experiences; but, it doesn't bother me. I like the new stuff - have fun...!

  • THANKS

  • I find everything in this music.Romantic, trance, electro pop, goth, dark aggrotech and so on.no reason to categorize anymore.

    excessive force is very similar.

  • @csabalog73

Excessive force is very similiar? No it isn't. It has shuffle-beat but not similiar.

Also, you find those genres but not industrial or ebm?.

  • Awesome are there any other industrial songs, that are similar to this??? like melodic???

  • LMFAO if this isn't industririal tell me what is

  • Awesome song btw.

  • Leæther Strip, Wumpscut are Electro-Industrial and Post-industrial muisc, OFCOURSE THIS ISN'T TG, COIL, SPK, EINSTÜRZENDE NEÜBATEN(Typing it fast), Carbaret Voltaire, etc. But who cares? Listne to what you like, but dDONT ACCUSE IT OF SOMETHINGS ITS NOT. ITS NOT TECHNO. Post-industria EBM and Electro-Industrial, BIG diferrence!

  • @krod73cr

You are really sick, guy. I think you need a couch doctor. Goodbye.

PS: In 1992, the WGT was a Goth event. You will find the line-up of 1992 on the official website.

  • (1 of 3)After 1 year of the comment I posted(by the way, thanks guys 4 the thumbs up). Now,at the beginning of this past summer,I went to a known Industrial theme night club during my work vacation.1st time there in over 2 years(not since early '08).I use to go to this club twice a month since I went there 1st time in late '04(by '06,only once every 1-4 months). This Industrial club has been around since 1996.Mostly dedicated 2 rivetheads & "cousins" 2 its scene(goths & old skool new wavers).

  • (2 of 3)So,what do I see over 2 years later, bright white sneakers & glow sticks.About 40% were young Ravers wearing "hip hop" style hoodies & doing the "Melbourne shuffle"(a rave dance move that started during the early 2000 years).1st there was 2 than 7 of 'em on the dancefloor(back then, there were only 2-6 out of 300-700 patrons at these clubs).

"this is not a hate comment,I was lol in my mind"

  • (3 of 3)This is not a put down or "hate" comments,I understand these young bucks need a place to dance/have a good time. But listen to today's industrial, power noize, ebm that has come out in the last 10 years, sounds alot like it came out of a major Rave.As "daisaigai7" said,"it's techno crap with wrong labels".

There's also a 3rd dance room playing strickly classic industrial/ebm of the 1980's-'90's.There was NO young 18-21 year olds.Only old skool in their 30s-early 40s.

  • @krod73cr

Dumbass. WGT was a GOTH event. A festival with Gothic Rock and Darkwave bands. And now shut up, you 34 years old bigmouth. You knows absolutely nothing, kiddo.

  • @krod73cr

Major festival? There was no major festival in the 80s or early 90s. There was only a handful of band gigs with Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Vomito Negro or Click Click. And now please. I'm tired of your shit.

  • @krod73cr

Nonsense. In Europe we called this noisy stuff "Hardcore Electro" or "Electro-Industrial". In the states, people called it "Industrial Dance".

EBM was music like Nitzer Ebb and early Krupps, with clean sequences, punky staccato beats and military shouts.

Distorted vocals and noisy beats, used by Psychopomps, Numb or Leæther Strip, are absolutely a-typical for EBM.

  • @krod73cr

Nonsense. You can not say that Hip Hop is Heavy Metal, because it's wrong. There are stylistic characteristics. And it has nothing to do with point of views.

  • @krod73cr

To EBM or to Leæther Strip? I'm not a big Leæther Strip fan. Only his first album was EBM.

  • WOOHOOO

  • @dasagai7: wow, really? not club music ?!? try dorian gray early 90s in FRA airport. happy days ! :-)

  • EBM at its best. Yeah!

  • This kind of music gets my soul boner hard. head space...

  • who cares what industrail is this or that, music is music, some like it,some of it sucks. the message is important, at least this song is speaking about something.

  • Strong

  • xD knightrider music!

  • Mmmm, Bad women. Need punishment.

  • Nowadays the lines are thin between genres, just look at Melodic Death Metal and new Industrial Metal. The electronic sound is making it's way through loads of bands, lately loads of indie band also

  • labels, labels, labels, category category...what´s in a name anyway, a rose not called a rose stil holds the same scent.

  • hammergeiler ebm song....

  • The best industrial ever - and its Danish - gotta love it!

  • @KlausKu1 you dont know industrial then.. then again its all a matter of taste ruoskas pretty good too

  • Hell yeah..gotta love this shit

  • this song freaking rocks

  • you are all stupid.. its EBM and nothing else!!

  • @TheVeneth Actualy its Electro-Industrial and EBM is another name for Industrial EDM. u fail

  • @TheVeneth The music of Leather Strip includes many styles. EBM too ;)

  • @TheVeneth

The music of Leather Strip includes many styles. And yes, one of them is EBM :)

  • @TheVeneth well it is something else- Its modern EBM, but more importantly, its GOOD!

  • solitary confinement was such a great cd. One of the best I ever owned.

  • ... and "Underneath the laughter"!

  • BTW; Front 242, Skinny Puppy, and Front Line Assembly are working on Digital-Industrial music now, new idea by TG and other "Regular- Industrial" bands like TG, Industrial is music taken up to the victorian times, but now whith ELectronic Industrial fusioned whith Electronica/IDM/Electro, Acid, the 2010's will be only getting better and better!

This is from an official blog... ...

  • apart from this old cut, who remembers "ayatollah khomeini" from leatherstrip?

  • Anything LE 2005+ or after sounds like garbage. After his marriage/union, Claus's music went down hill. It's not even dark anymore. WTF happened?

  • women have ruined the world!

  • Yeah, bad Women ;)

I think Claus, if you think the newer Songs are crap, has changed. I still like and listen to LS

  • I don't think that's the case with Larsen, being him gay.............

  • FoKKKing GREAT OLD SCHOOL INDUSTRIAL...

  • god i freakn love leather strip and any other industrial-gpth pr whatever type stuff. too bad im too young to know the early good stuff. but my mom and dad were goth and went to clubs and stuff so theyre cool enough to give me all the good old stuff

  • @KPudlo

Your mom and dad WERE goth? How come not anymore? lol.

l'm seeing this band tomorrow at a goth industrial club in Philly. 8) Can't wait.

  • I think I've just had an electronic orgasm...

  • punish your machine + mindphaser=strap me down. Ah... it´s good anyway.

  • love this song for long long time half of my age OMG =)

  • Whats that a picture of? What industrial plant?

  • looks like insulated steam pipe at a power plant

  • SUPER MUSIC...

  • EMB and INDUSTRIAL 80's RIP!!!

    PLEASE COME BACK!!!

  • How much I miss the older style of Industrial music of the 1980's(especially late '80s)to '90's(bands like Nitzer Ebb,Lights of Euphoria,Wumpscut,Ministry,Leaether Strip,etc...).In the last 7-8 years,Industrial/EBM/Future-pop(I think that's what they call it in Europe) sounds too much like Trance music from a Rave(don't get me wrong,I like the newer sound but doesn't have that old scool rivet head-goth-darkwave vibe to it.The newer Industrial makes me feel like I should have glow sticks).

  • There's no newer Industrial (it's only stupid Techno crap with wrong labels). And i don't think that Leather Strip or Wumpscut etc. are Industrial bands.

Industrial music is associated with Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Boyd Rice, Lustmord and early Laibach. Leatherstrip is danceable Hard Electro stuff, nothing more.

Industrial music isn't really danceable. It's head music, not club music.

  • Well, mostly you're right, but there is "Pneumatic Detach" "Terrorfakt" and much more Industrial Bands, that has nothing to do with Techno, Electro or Dark Electro

  • Terrorfakt? It's a typical Drum & Noise group. I don't call it "Industrial". This is Post-Post-Industrial (yeah, double-Post) with Techno- and Breakcore influences. Same stuff like Converter, Imminent Starvation and Hands Records stuff. :P

Try MZ.412, Propergol or Gruntsplatter. ;)

    watch?v=lWf9VxijM2Q

    This is "newer" Industrial IMO.

  • I know what you mean about how Industrial has changed. I was in an Industrial club recently and asked if they'd play Blue Man Group's "Drumbone." They refused, on the grounds "it wasn't industrial." I was like, "Not industrial? o.O" lol

watch?v=wN4E09Kx5Eo - the song by itself.

watch?v=r-nzQg97uUs - how the song is usually played live.

I'm sorry, but if you ask me, you can't get much more "industrial" than PVC pipe! XD

  • I like Blue Man Group, but you gotta be kidding right? A Genre, regardless of its roots and name is still about a particular "sound" and BMG ain't it.

Your logic is like saying that a rythm made by hitting two stones together counts as "Rock music" because, hey, it's music made with rocks!

  • Ummmm ... I would say that this "industrial" is more akin to "Dance," which evolved from "New Wave," which has it's roots more in "Disco." So this would qualify as "electronic," while BMG is often called "electronic" in spite of the fact they generally don't like using synthesizers.

I have been told this is a "purist" definition, however, and isn't commonly held since, you know, nobody likes "purist" definitions.

  • actualy it started around early punk days and all the groups doing industrial all had their own sound there never was one industrial sound or style.

  • this is a shameless ripoff of 'what time is love' by the KLF

  • @keld100 Yep yep!

  • yep yep

  • @daisaigai7 You're absolutely right, and that's called EBM or "electronic body music.

Also, Skinny Puppy can be mildly danceable.

  • @daisaigai7 yeah, Leatherstrip is even more industrial than SPK etc. =P stop flaming all your incompetent opinions, who dont care! All "new school"-haters are just lamed by their "old school" shit they cant hear anymore lol!

  • @GottSeinHofnarr we* dont care

  • @GottSeinHofnarr

Was du New School nennst, is nix anderes als aufgewärmte Raver-Scheiße.

Schade eigentlich...

  • @GottSeinHofnarr

  • @GottSeinHofnarr

An Spacken wie dich sollte man gar keine Zeit verschwenden. Abschaum bleibt eben Abschaum...

  • @daisaigai7

English motherfucker do you speak it?

  • @GottSeinHofnarr

English motherfucker do you speak it?

  • @daisaigai7 well done kiddoe. who needs genres, → I know what sounds good to me. Check my favs, why do you need a genre to follow like a lemming

  • @daisaigai7

I disagree, the early industrial started as a audio/performance-art movement, not really as music and later it started to develope in different directions.

The danceable stuff is either Ebm, Harsh Ebm, Electro-industrial, post-industrial or this new wave of ebm that i refues to call ''aggrotech''. For me the new wave is futurepop, techno body music or something else these ''technoer'' harsh ebm-sounding bands are..

  • @gombie so what do you consider Skinny Puppy?

  • @zyclonb6

    Post-industrial and Electro-industrial.

Of course there's different kind of electro-industrial, just like there is ebm.

Industrial scene lacks of genre-names and i'm fine with it. Just as long as nothing is labeled as ''angry techno'' or something.

  • @daisaigai7

:D and I always have thought that Industrial simply is dance/nightclub music for alternative people :D

  • ??

I searched for it, and listen to it .. it doesn't even sound like Strap me down .. so what are you talking about?

  • Forget it, but cmon the synths and constructure is SO similiar!

i bet its the same sample if not, its very similiar.

  • Look at the other Comment from me .. it can't be similiar.

  • Oh .. and before I forget .. Strap me down was released on 1994, and Psychonaut75 was formed on 1997, so I think, if a Song is a Rip-Off, it's Serpents

  • I don't think so.

  • ShadowDevotion Is right.

  • This is my favorite song of them all!

And the best thing that hes my onkel

  • Claus is your Uncle? Cool :D

  • @gizdyret kan jeg få ham? :D

  • Great! I love Æ!

  • YOU ARE CORRECT SIR

  • its Lloyds in London, the building. Modern office architecture at its best.

  • love Klaus!

  • makes me grin

  • TOP ONE!! Great!!

  • this song was sick as shit for it's time.

not to say it still isn't good. :D

  • long time ago:).......it was great...YESSSSSSSSSS!!!

  • Missing link between 80s EBM and the new stuff...brilliant.

  • ...great song for every time.

  • Leather Strip is the best thing ever that came out of Denmark....they (him) totalt owns the 90ies Industrial.

Wumpscut is the german version of Leather Strip.

    Man I love this!

  • Wumpscut are American

  • No, :W:umpscut is German, near Munich

  • Who told you Rudy (Wumpscut) is american? Not that I dont want him to be but the german page with a Bio, where he says himself that he is born, raised and lives in germany, might tip you off :-p

  • I saw an interview that XP8 (If you don't know them, check them out!) did with the dude from wumpscut, he joked about them pronouncing the band name in German and said he was from the states, could of just been taking the piss though, in fact its looking rather likely.

  • In fact of that, XP8 is wrong.

  • Love this song. Glad you put it up. Excellent!

  • top 5 best songs of all time...yes all time!

  • Danmark FTW!

  • Phenom song, music makes me want to go crazy and I dont even like to dance.

  • spelled the name wrong lol

  • Man strong back beats and good vocals hell yeah great bass line

  • Yeah, the good old times <3

German music is the best !!!

  • Very nice retard, Leæther Strip was a danish project.

  • Oh yes, you have right man.

This is the reason why i shouldn`t write comments when i`m on drugs ^^

    peace

  • lol

  • German? You probably mean Danish. Claus Larsen is Danish and still resides in Danmark.

  • Great song.

  • About damn time... had this song lost the cd...errr

  • My fav Leather strip music

    UNderground lives!

  • Yeah,finally!! I love this song!!!
