cribs are for sleeping in, not playing in. Sure, I can get my son to climb around and climb out even, if I encourage it. He knows cribs are for sleeping, so that's what he does when he's in one.
True, coaxing the baby to the sides is going to help that happen. By that age, bumpers are used as a catalyst to get OUT of the crib, so I would take all of them out too.
So how exactly did the bumper in the crib protect this kiddo?? I didn't see that it did anything for him. He STILL bonked his head, plus I'm sure that when someone is sitting outside the bars of the crib coaxing the kid, he's going to more attracted to playing between the bars. You are supposed to take the bumper out when they get to this age anyway , so they don't start climbing on it.
