Forgot the bit where Aborigines are still unable to adapt or assimilate to the modern world. so far removed from their culture that they are now more concerned with destroying infrustructure, drinking grog, sniffing petrol and feeling sorry for themselves, despite the government handouts, returned lands and a public SORRY for something that this generation had nothing to do with. White man should of advanced and left primitive people alone. Then again, someone else would of claimed the country.
Today is " Australia" day, during our extended family breakfast with my children thanked my Non English European parents for emigrating here in 1960 and help make a good Country it was then into the great Nation it is now.
Fair enough cartoon remembering the Australia today is now far from being the mainly mono culture it was up to the 1950s and has gone from a good Country is was then to a great multicultural Nation many Australians call home now.
@15waratahs Yeah, some of us are educated, unlike you lol Learn some fucking grammar you tosser, you look stupid when you go off at people with grammar so bad!!!!!
And calling someone else racist while using the term "Abo's" in the same fucking sentence, well FUCK, how dumb do you want to fucking seem???? lol
@Corerrai They've been the highest paid Australian Entertainers for the last 20 years. lol There's probably plenty of famous Aussies out there that you don't know they are Aussies.
Nice attempt at satire but you kinda got lost, and yeah 88rowey is correct the yanks didn't save Australia from Japan but they like to think they did.
@T43BU573r They pretty much did save us from Japan Mate. Look up "The Brisbane Line" That was the line across Australia that we were going to defend and give the top part to the Japs, Well the best part of our Army were in Europe and that was the only plan we had. Then General MacArthur escaped from the Japanese held Philippines and came to Australia with the plan to head the Japs off in New Guinea and push them back to Japan. Which is exactly what happened.
@zairsc actually the dutch called it New Holland, Terra Australis is latin for "the unknown land of the South" and refereed to a hypothetical continent in the south, it was applied to Australia when it was discovered & is the root of the name Australia... This hypothetical southern land mass is now considered to have been Antarctica
Not all australians are this dumb. i actually didnt no most of the people he talked about and i probley wont remember after watching this. all the useful stuff that australia has made isnt included. such as gay pride week and fish tossing. and dwarf throwing. like if you argee
@AMENAZAwarriorbear im sure there are about tem thousand videos. just for your information which can be verified on the internet and in a book entitled the history of the conquest of mexico and history of the conquest of peru. the former of course is what your interested in. be amazed at actual facts and not the repeated "imperialist bla bla bla crap. but again whatever.........
I am sorry if my comment offend anyone i am not Australian i am from Mexico and know almost nothing about your history and that's why i am here trying to learn a bit because i am interested in world history, Now this video says that the settlers agreed in only white immigrants because they did not want contamination, but what really bother me was the stupid comment of this person saying...Well because they did find Australia first!..wow...i guess the aborigines don't count as humans hu?
@GringoHunter Unfortunately until 1967 Aborigines weren't counted as humans. At least not in the census. Very sad. Deinitely not a good part of Australian history.
You know, Australia only joins these wars due to their alliance with England (with them being our ancestors mainly I guess) but if we didn't have this alliance Australia never would have had to fight in any wars except for when Aus was threatened by the Japanese. During this 'would-be' invasion Australian troops were out fighting ENGLAND's wars, Australia was unprotected.
Prehaps Australia should re-think this aliance. Except the Jap Invasion, no-one ever bothers to attack the Australians.
@OneWayTrip1 FYI Anyone who knows history knows otherwise. It was called the Battle of Coral Sea, right off the Queensland coast, two entire US Navy carrier battle groups that stopped the Japanese fleet, not some insignficant Kokoda nonsense. Thousands of US men gave their lives for your ingratitude. Australia is as entirely militarily dependent on US today as it was back then. Let's hope your economic dependence on China doesn't lead you to any foolish decisions inspired by patriotic bull$#^t.
@Shojahan Do your research. Japan never had a large scale invasion of the Australian mainland planned during the second world war. I'm not patriotic, I just know how to read.
@OneWayTrip1 You obviously don't know how to read Japanese, well you'd be speaking it, but for US Navy & Marine Corps. Japan's isolation strategy would have amounted to Aus dependence on Japan for supplies, but for US forces in Pacific. IOW you would have become a crown possession/colony of Japan rather than being owned by British as you still are today! In fact I believe your benevolent British overlords left you high & dry in Singapore, so US had to save you instead.
@Shojahan We probably could have held off the Japs had our main Armed Forces not been in deployment in other areas of the Globe. America really had to help Australia, as they didn't want us in Japanese control. They also had a little matter of revenge to take care of, for Hawaii and of course MacArthur wanting to "Return" to the Philippines.
I like to think it was a good team effort, that seen the crushing of a ruthless enemy and spawned the great relationship our nations have today.
This is clearly inspired by the short history of america and guns cartoon in micheal moores bowling for columbine and while you start off well u kinda lose ur way and start going off on tangents which the original american satire didnt
Bigoted inaccuracies and racist opinions do not equal 'satire' and is most certainly offensive to almost every race she talks about!! Pretty rude how the only Aboriginal dialogue sounds more like a payout and as if they spoke to Cook in English when he first landed!!
I don't actually think Japan wanted to conquer Australia. They wanted to conquer the Orient, which is basically Mongolia, China, Indochina, Korea, Sakhalin, the Malay Archipelago, Taiwan, and the Philippines. They also wanted Hawaii, but the main reason they wanted Hawaii was because they didn't want America to have it, since America was colonizing the South Pacific, and the Japanese saw America as a threat.
@LaParkanation you are some racist son of a bitch. Just because someone does something different (eg the way ppl live their life) to you does not mean theyre inferior. Personally, being a white Australian, I respect their culture for what it is and was before white settlement. Plus, obviously aborigines have come a long way, many have gone on to become great ppl and throughout all their hardship have still managed to maintain their culture.
As an australian I find this video rather offensive.any one can tell a story and put their spin on it in order to change people's perception.and FYI it wasn't because America saved us that Japan never invaded.if their was any nationality we had to thank it was the fuzzy angels, also the Aussies stopped the Japanese along a shitty little trail that famously became known as the kokoda trail.also the Japanese would of never successfully reach australia because they couldn't stretch their resources
@88rowey The only reason Japs went down Kokoda is because US Navy stopped IJN in the Battle of Coral Sea, at the cost of thousands of lives, yet no Australian acknowledges it, just jingo up Kokoda all the time.
@Shojahan America didn't want to help out the UK or France, that is until Pearl Harbour was bombed and jolted them into it. No one disputes the efforts of our American friends and soldiers who stood beside us and lost their lives just like we did. Everyone had a hard time in this war and Australia was no different to America in that respect.
@88rowey I agree with your point here. Although, what's to stop Indonesia if they placed a full assault of asylum seekers on boats heading to Australia? Gillard doesn't seem to enforce strong policy for that. Think about your hardworking taxes going to people that have no skills and are not trained in type of work but live in luxury on Christmas Island.
@Yoshimitsua I support assylum seeker rights, I don't support the protestors that expect them to come to Australia and be welcomed here. If they are just kept in one place such as Christmas Island and not taught the fundamentals of goal seeking, how to treat one another, hygiene and skills for occupations then how can they be expected to fend for themselves when they get to Australia. They just go on the doll and Australia is stupid with its policy on that.
@Yoshimitsua They pretty much give asylum seekers lawyers, money and other resources as well. See, the aussie aussie, mainly english born cannot stand foreigners, mainly because of our difference in values and traditional sense. I'm Italian by decent but born in Australia, Aussies are not bothered by applying for jobs that we Europeans and Asians have created for them, so they envy us and put us down which was reflected during the 1960 - to present(not as much).
@88rowey well i also am an australian, and i had family fight there, and japan WAS trying to take australia TYVM, Americans saved us, we fought well and hard but could not have done it without the americans, if we are bagging out ppl ova a war, we should be bagging the english, they screwed us more than the japs.
Cook annexed Australia, acknowledging inhabitation. The term "Terra Nullus" was not invented until over 100 years later. Does not alter or justify the injustices.
@maoribattalion Europeans introduced cats to Australia. Before Europeans cats and foxes were not in found as they are now. Australian wildlife was not adept to predators such as cats and foxes which has since done much harm to the environment.
People want to love their cats and dogs but the environment has paid a heavy price for their introduction.
@oakfire12 thats the common belief, but a couple of things have proved otherwise.
1. The Makassan trade route with Northern tribes especially Yolngu, prolly traded cats 100s of years before Europeans arrived. It's why some tribes have cats as their totems.
2. Genetics show there are two different gene pools of cats in Australia, one much older and Asiatic compared to the varieties favoured by Europeans.
I'd say foxes and hard hoofed animals esp. cattle have done the damage since settlement.
@oakfire12 To his defence, there seems to be some evidence of cats being present before the arrival of Europeans, but for the most part you are correct since they were, if at all of course, then only found in the north. Most of the cats today are descendeents of those brought after European invasion.
Anyway I like your video the only problem was the pacing. And I think if you had put a dog next to the first Aboriginal seen by Cook it would have been even more of a satire.
Had you have done proper research you would have known that the dutch discovered Australia in 1607 by navigator Willem Janszoon. The Dutch hadn't chartered the Eastern Coast and that was james cook's goal; it's actually quite well known in Europe (including England) that captain cook used dutch chartered map to navigate to Australia.
Had you have done research you would also know why Australia belongs to England and isn't part of the Netherlands anymore too
@mobility987 Do more research and you find out, that the English Crown has been secretely ruled by the Romans for a long time and still is today. You can even find photos of Queen Elisabeth wearing the robes of the Order of Malta. Australia is ultimately ruled by the Romans...this is hidden knowledge. No mass media will ever tell you this. Of course all the Worlds mass media are owned by the Jesuits. Rupert Murdoch is a Roman Catholic and member of the Order Of St. John too (Jesuits...)
@alriha77 sorry, I do not understand how the discovery of the land mass known as australia by the dutch some 170 years before james cook arrived in australia, and his voyage using dutch chartered maps to navigate there has any bearing on roman Catholicism or romans. Which author's and what research states that England is ruled by Romans? and furthermore, I never laid claim about mass media, I do not own a tv and nor do i listen to the radio.
@andressy182 pretty sure white people have existed longer than 3000 years, very few of those went by without some form of invasion, conflict or ridiculous fashion trend hence the guns and frock coats.
If the aborigines were so highly developed though, surely they would have had the foresight to think that maybe sooner or later pointy sticks, hollow sticks and a stick that comes back when you throw it were not going to be the answer to all their problems. They had time to prepare.
@MRdotSmil3Z That is because they couldn't find anyone to do that to, so they did it to each other. They just didn't expect anyone who was better at it to show up.
I do so love this notion that the entire world was at peace until white man arrived though, as quaint and racist and downright insane as it is it seems to be really common.
Over 40,000 years in one of the most mineral rich countries in the world and the abbos still only had pointy sticks to defend themselves with. At one point you have to stop blaming the white man and start blaming laziness.
@LaParkanation Or perhaps Australian Aborigines were a race so highly developed that they didn't require guns, frock coats or mass mineral extraction. In any case, successfully surviving 40,000 years on the harsh Australian continent, with only 'pointy sticks' is a pretty big achievement. At some point you have to admit that settled white man has only managed, what.... 3,000 years max?
@LaParkanation its not about laziness its about trdition, thats the wy they had grown up, the way they were taught! maybe they didnt invent anything or discover anything new simply because they didnt need to. they seemed perfectly happy and healthy living the way they did.
@TVgoddess101 so their culture ultimately doomed them? Everyone else in the world was doing shit and going through their hard times while the abbos were just chilling, but that had to catch up with them eventually. I honestly cannot see any realistic scenario which would not have caused massive problems, it was just a matter of time before someone showed up, and everyone else was more advanced and had exotic diseases from far away places.
@LaParkanation dude relax....its not about evollving, why must you judge them?? just leave them alone, they choose to live the way they do because they want to ok? it is not our place to tell them its shit or that your doomed!! leave it alone!
thats it, we were convicts, and my family has aboriginal blood, on my mums side, im not black skinned at all, but i have spiritual beliefs, not religious, but whites and blacks eventually found love together..my great grandmother was happily married to a full blood koori guy, theres no excuse for the horrific things that happened, but people were always wild back then, theres no excuses now..
@seanhieu1 jeez sean, it's a kids show , chill quit ranting, If any of you see this , it's cuz we need to memorize the words of the first two minutes for history homework
acaulcty theres alot more history behind this captain cook was not the first to step foot on australia apart from the aborigines it was acaulty found by the makassans of asia and after that the dutch sailors such as able tasman but then the dutch got bored of australia (new holland to them) and then the english came and took over..............................YOU JUST GOT A HISTORY LESSON BY A 9 YEAR OLD.........OWEND!!!!
Pretty warped view of history but its still just a cartoon. Our ancestor's relations towards natives has been no where near as bad as America's. There's also archaeological evidence that Indigenous Australians hunted several species to extinction before Cook got here and introduced the Dingo which helped wipe out the Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger).
@JonLambert89 It's only filling in the basics , it's a cartoon that airs on CBBC and its aimed at under 10 year olds so there not going to go into detail.
@JonLambert89 Sorry but that is BULLSHIT in ww2 when the US soliders came to australia, the australian government wanted the african american soldiers to go further inland because they didn't want the public to see black people get treated well and equally. One aboriginal man wanted to join the armed forces so bad that he walked from WA to NSW just to sign up and he did not get any appreciation from anyone and they kept him secret from the rest of australia. oh and btw, GENOCIDE happened too.
@BohemianLeaves Everything you just said... ABSOLUTELY HAPPENED, you're not making that history up but you are picking and choosing what history to bring up. When people want to bash Australia they focus only on the negative side, I guess acknowledging that many white people opposed those racist/genocidal government policies doesn't get the point across. I stand by what I said about us and America. I doubt our ancestors got off the boats and started shooting people, its hard with handcuffs on.
@Derp1978 - sorry to disagree, but the Portuguese were the first europeans to reach Australia (1522).. Portuguese were also the first Europeans to reach Japan in 1542.
@TheJonathan034 Hey idiot, you do know the video is titled 'A brief history of Australia.' I don't see New Zealand in the title dip shit. Its a BRIEF history, not a detailed accurate one. I think you have a chip on your shoulder. Probably best to read a book for your history lesson and not take a YouTube video so seriously. From another idiot dipshit Kiwi-Aussie.
2 things that i would say this video didn't portray accurately enough. Number 1 the Brits didn't just start shooting up Aboriginals, they originally left them alone and ignored them however they ended up killing some of the Brits then the Brits classified the Aboriginals as dangerous then started to kill them off. Number 2 in ww2 Australian troops were not useless like you made them out to be in the video, infact they were some of the best and well trained troops. But USA still saved us.
Hahaha wow, this is actually insulting people? You spineless and sensitive pussies. Seriously, a cartoon is getting you all worked up? Toughen up People.
This is quite insulting to just about everyone, but credit where it's due: It did make everyone seem equally demented.
Also, I know nect to nothing about Asutralia, so at least I learned something. Though the historical accuracy of this video may be in doubt, I do not quite understand why so many people feel personally offended by it.
I can understand the attempt to be funny here .. but I think there are far better, more skilful ways to get a satirical message across ... eg watch Clarke & Dawe on ABC1 TV .. now that's first-class biting satire.
Your just fucked up what aussies look like, if someone from overseas watched this, They would think we are a bunch of dumb crazy stupid bogan prisoners. you dont know anything
I just saw the one you did on america and LOVED IT ,but was amazed at the ignorance of the viewers and their lack of humour and told them to grow one, only to find that some of my fellow Aussies JUST DON'T GET IT EITHER , I'm PISSING myself to discover the BOGAN gene is shared between our great countries Ha Ha Ha Great work !!!!!
@streethustla24 The Aboriginals were first greeted as equals, but then a fight broke out between a settlement/convict and a tribe, aboriginals were killed and relations went from nuetrl to enimies.
There are quite a few things here that are incorrect; fir exmple, aboriginals wore loin cloths, they didn't run around butt-naked, cat's were first introduced by Asian trading ships, not the first fleet; and foxes, much later.
@streethustla24 Not only that; in World War I 'Australian's realised how much they still loved their mother country, England' this makes it sounds as if the Australians were pining to return to England, which is untrue, it was a decision made to uphold the allegiance between Brittan and Australia.
Something I'm really livid about though, is the fact the he completely disrespects the men that gave their lives so ours could be saved.
@streethustla24 The American's did NOT 'save Australia' this bloke makes us sound like we were fucking useless; where the hell does he get off doing that?!
88rowey 1 month ago 20
@88rowey Milne Bay should share the iconic status of Kokoda
666plb 1 month ago
@88rowey The only reason Japs went down Kokoda is because US Navy stopped IJN in the Battle of Coral Sea, at the cost of thousands of lives, yet no Australian acknowledges it, just jingo up Kokoda all the time.
Shojahan 1 month ago
@Shojahan America didn't want to help out the UK or France, that is until Pearl Harbour was bombed and jolted them into it. No one disputes the efforts of our American friends and soldiers who stood beside us and lost their lives just like we did. Everyone had a hard time in this war and Australia was no different to America in that respect.

@88rowey Japan had taken over most of asia and the pacific.. and if it wasnt for the USA the war would have been going on for alot more longer..
cam9408 1 month ago
@88rowey I agree with your point here. Although, what's to stop Indonesia if they placed a full assault of asylum seekers on boats heading to Australia? Gillard doesn't seem to enforce strong policy for that. Think about your hardworking taxes going to people that have no skills and are not trained in type of work but live in luxury on Christmas Island.
Yoshimitsua 1 month ago
@Yoshimitsua I support assylum seeker rights, I don't support the protestors that expect them to come to Australia and be welcomed here. If they are just kept in one place such as Christmas Island and not taught the fundamentals of goal seeking, how to treat one another, hygiene and skills for occupations then how can they be expected to fend for themselves when they get to Australia. They just go on the doll and Australia is stupid with its policy on that.
Yoshimitsua 1 month ago
@Yoshimitsua They pretty much give asylum seekers lawyers, money and other resources as well. See, the aussie aussie, mainly english born cannot stand foreigners, mainly because of our difference in values and traditional sense. I'm Italian by decent but born in Australia, Aussies are not bothered by applying for jobs that we Europeans and Asians have created for them, so they envy us and put us down which was reflected during the 1960 - to present(not as much).
Yoshimitsua 1 month ago
@88rowey well i also am an australian, and i had family fight there, and japan WAS trying to take australia TYVM, Americans saved us, we fought well and hard but could not have done it without the americans, if we are bagging out ppl ova a war, we should be bagging the english, they screwed us more than the japs.

Actually cats have been here long before Europeans. Prolly through trade with the Makassans.
Therefore stereotypical hatred for cats is closer to a hatred for dingoes.
maoribattalion 1 month ago 3
@maoribattalion Europeans introduced cats to Australia. Before Europeans cats and foxes were not in found as they are now. Australian wildlife was not adept to predators such as cats and foxes which has since done much harm to the environment.
People want to love their cats and dogs but the environment has paid a heavy price for their introduction.
oakfire12 1 month ago
@oakfire12 thats the common belief, but a couple of things have proved otherwise.
1. The Makassan trade route with Northern tribes especially Yolngu, prolly traded cats 100s of years before Europeans arrived. It's why some tribes have cats as their totems.
2. Genetics show there are two different gene pools of cats in Australia, one much older and Asiatic compared to the varieties favoured by Europeans.
I'd say foxes and hard hoofed animals esp. cattle have done the damage since settlement.
maoribattalion 1 month ago
@oakfire12 Sheep and cattle have caused way more damage and have had a greater environmental impact than any other introduced species.

DrJackJeckyl 1 month ago
@oakfire12 To his defence, there seems to be some evidence of cats being present before the arrival of Europeans, but for the most part you are correct since they were, if at all of course, then only found in the north. Most of the cats today are descendeents of those brought after European invasion.
Anyway I like your video the only problem was the pacing. And I think if you had put a dog next to the first Aboriginal seen by Cook it would have been even more of a satire.

the dutch introduced cats moron!
lukecrowtherable 1 month ago
Had you have done proper research you would have known that the dutch discovered Australia in 1607 by navigator Willem Janszoon. The Dutch hadn't chartered the Eastern Coast and that was james cook's goal; it's actually quite well known in Europe (including England) that captain cook used dutch chartered map to navigate to Australia.
Had you have done research you would also know why Australia belongs to England and isn't part of the Netherlands anymore too
mobility987 2 months ago
@mobility987 Do more research and you find out, that the English Crown has been secretely ruled by the Romans for a long time and still is today. You can even find photos of Queen Elisabeth wearing the robes of the Order of Malta. Australia is ultimately ruled by the Romans...this is hidden knowledge. No mass media will ever tell you this. Of course all the Worlds mass media are owned by the Jesuits. Rupert Murdoch is a Roman Catholic and member of the Order Of St. John too (Jesuits...)
alriha77 2 months ago

LaParkanation 2 months ago
@LaParkanation Aboriginal people didn't rape and pilage others so why would the expect it?
MRdotSmil3Z 2 months ago
@MRdotSmil3Z That is because they couldn't find anyone to do that to, so they did it to each other. They just didn't expect anyone who was better at it to show up.
I do so love this notion that the entire world was at peace until white man arrived though, as quaint and racist and downright insane as it is it seems to be really common.
LaParkanation 1 month ago
Over 40,000 years in one of the most mineral rich countries in the world and the abbos still only had pointy sticks to defend themselves with. At one point you have to stop blaming the white man and start blaming laziness.
LaParkanation 2 months ago
@LaParkanation Or perhaps Australian Aborigines were a race so highly developed that they didn't require guns, frock coats or mass mineral extraction. In any case, successfully surviving 40,000 years on the harsh Australian continent, with only 'pointy sticks' is a pretty big achievement. At some point you have to admit that settled white man has only managed, what.... 3,000 years max?
andressy182 2 months ago
@LaParkanation its not about laziness its about trdition, thats the wy they had grown up, the way they were taught! maybe they didnt invent anything or discover anything new simply because they didnt need to. they seemed perfectly happy and healthy living the way they did.
TVgoddess101 1 month ago
@TVgoddess101 so their culture ultimately doomed them? Everyone else in the world was doing shit and going through their hard times while the abbos were just chilling, but that had to catch up with them eventually. I honestly cannot see any realistic scenario which would not have caused massive problems, it was just a matter of time before someone showed up, and everyone else was more advanced and had exotic diseases from far away places.
LaParkanation 1 month ago
@LaParkanation dude relax....its not about evollving, why must you judge them?? just leave them alone, they choose to live the way they do because they want to ok? it is not our place to tell them its shit or that your doomed!! leave it alone!

DaleWF10 2 months ago
@JonLambert89 Sorry but that is BULLSHIT in ww2 when the US soliders came to australia, the australian government wanted the african american soldiers to go further inland because they didn't want the public to see black people get treated well and equally. One aboriginal man wanted to join the armed forces so bad that he walked from WA to NSW just to sign up and he did not get any appreciation from anyone and they kept him secret from the rest of australia. oh and btw, GENOCIDE happened too.
BohemianLeaves 2 months ago
@BohemianLeaves Everything you just said... ABSOLUTELY HAPPENED, you're not making that history up but you are picking and choosing what history to bring up. When people want to bash Australia they focus only on the negative side, I guess acknowledging that many white people opposed those racist/genocidal government policies doesn't get the point across. I stand by what I said about us and America. I doubt our ancestors got off the boats and started shooting people, its hard with handcuffs on.

But USA still saved us.

streethustla24 3 months ago
