if this is voxel, then why are there polygons? There shouldn't be any need for polygons except for when using 3ds max. A true voxel based engine or render wound have no polygons.
that looks damn amazing and cool how fast and intuitive you paint the landscape. But I really don´t know, how you achive that. In my sandbox editor, the voxel tool is very buggy and annoying.
How do you get this rough surfaces?
And why are your voxels so smooth while mine are really low poly.
yeah great demonstration, thanks for showing the real potential of voxels, makes me want to open up sandbox again. How did you 'paint' 3D textures on using the voxel brush (not adding textures, but they looked 3d)?
I looked through the whole thread and the comments - is there anyway to make the voxels as precise as yours without subdividing into like 256 parts?

will there be a version for the cry engine 3?

are you sure it's voxel and note procedural?

Nice ... looks almost as good as C4 Game Engines voxel editor

It's like the little balls and cubes are sucking the life out of the terrain, or breathing life into it. That's deep shit, man.

Ok, man. Now I found out, how to subdivide the voxels into smaller mesh by just subdividing into 8 smaller parts. Now it works a lot better.
But it is still unknown, how you get the smooth surface so rough by painting over it.

How- how did you place vegetation on the voxel like that? D:

Just out of interest, what hardware you running that on?

Awesome. Is this Cryengine 2 or 3?
SageNTitled 11 months ago
@SageNTitled im guessing 2 since it whoops "3's dumbed down for consoles versions" ass.

@d3tach3d That sucks, but it will get better.

@SageNTitled when he say released in 2007 it can't be cryengine 3 ;)
i think it was cryengine 2 or cryengine 1

Hey! Very nice video Seb.
Thanks for reminding me how awesome the voxels actually are! :)
