It's a mystery why Americans don't like to see foreign movies with translation on screen while all other Asians or Europeans do. Instead of it, they used to remake Korean or Asian movies and ruins those well-made movies.

This also ruins original Korean one-ADDICTION (fillmed in 2002) through remake. Actor Lee Byung Hun(played in G.I.Joe) acted the main role.

I'm a European as well and it's always subtitled but i saw the original version of The Grudge first and it was difficult for me as a European to see the differences between the actors, i mean for me they all looked like each other so it was hard follow and also you can't understand anything they were saying , when a movie is in English you can understand a lot,. So that's why I like the American versions more, but of course that's just my opinion

@becool3ok Its not true that most European countries like subtitles. The majority of them like dubbing. I'm an American in France. Everything is dubbed her. But, there are movie theaters that do have OV (original version). But Spain and Germany are the kings of dubbing. Other countries may not have a wide enough audience to make it worth it to dub. So, they have no choice but to read subtitles.

In the beginning I wasn't really sure, but it is great. The alternative ending is actually better than the real one though. You should buy it.

this remake is BAD compare to the original. the original korean movie (jungdok/addicted) is much better. it's suppose to be a sweet love story. they made this into a really creepy and psychotic film. but i do like sarah michelle gellar anyway. she kinda stars in asian film remakes, doesn't she? :)

I don't want to spoil it too much. But the orginal ending that suppose to be in theaters would have made the movie a thriller/horror.

The other ending made the movie drama/sad/bittersweet.

I'm a little disappointed. Again, we have an AMERICAN remake of a Japan/Korea film. (I've seen "The Red Shoes" twice now.) And something bothered me. They could've used that money to help the people in Haiti. I'll be honest. This, for ME, is just like when they released "One Missed Call" in america. This movie is NOT scary.
