why wont your parents let you have one? Worrying you wont take care of the bird and they will have to do it?　Or birds can be too loud? Some people hate that.so you should know why your parents dont want you to have one to be able to persuade them. O(∩_∩)O

I have an albino red rumped parakeet, I raised it from 4 days old as the parents were first timers and all the other chicks died and mine was close to death as they were not feeding it, heaps of personality and alwasy calles out to me, I am not sure of the sex but my cockatiel thinks it is a girl.

sillybillyparakeeta1- budgies and parakeets are NOT the same thing. just like watermelons and melons arent the same thing, melon is a catagory and watermelon is a fruit in that catagory. parakeet is a catagory, and budgies are a bird in that catagory. i have a female red rumped parakeet too, she is just like this!!!

yes i guess you can teach them at the same time! just play music all the time and speak to them and let them be free range...

btw, mine one is not budgie, it is red-rumped parakeet. ：〉

@dancerchick: thats a red rumpet parrot... no budgie and... wtf... how would you bred canaries with budgies? xD but white is not the natural color, though ;) male are very colorful, but green above all...

p.s: i keep seeing videos of completely yellow parakeets... i've never seen one before! Is it because theyre bred with canaries or some crazy idea as such?!!

I hope you're really into the parakeets, I got one, and then another, and after I had two, no matter how much I talked to them they only cared about each other and never liked me very much. I wish I had only got one and got it to like me before buying another.

Mier is tame! Most birds are one person birds. I have seven birds and only one of them will go to anybody. Really nice to finally see another tame redrump. Her singing is adorable, Ketz can't do that.

Ketzel is awesome. I am not strict enough to her . Her favorate vege is broccoli, fav fruit is apple, and fav yogurt is apricot flavor. How is Ketzel? Mier basically doesn't like anything sour. I miss Mier so much coz I am living in Japan now and she is in London. I will try to bring her to Japan later on though i am worried if she can survive the 13-hour flight...:(

Redrumps are known to be good, healthy eaters. As to transport, you might be able to take Mier onboard with you in an airline approved container. I've heard of people doing that in the US, don't know about the rest of the world. She is small enough to fit under a seat. She must really miss you. There are pet transport services that know what they're doing - again, that's in the US, don't know about the rest of the world. Good luck, I know she misses you, too.

Ketzel is the best eater. I give all organic and he loves all his vegs, grains, and a little fruit. Half an organic fig will keep him busy for an hour. Yes, he is a terror and his lunge is lightning quick. In Oz, they will gang up on a hawk and harass it until it leaves their area. Good thing he worships me. He's so devoted, but I DON'T recommend them as pets. I spent a lot of time with him, starting from the age of four weeks.

You can see that from another video i have called parakeet eating cookies. She loves junk food(like pizza, hagendaz, cookies)...:( how is yours?
