Here in Brazil, many rivers have gravel as substrate, and there are stingrays living there. As a mather of fact some species, like leopoldi, are found mostly in parts of the river with gravel as substrate.

What what a string of bad comments proceeding mine. For me the tank decor could use revisions, but the fish seem healthy and nice specimens. With such a great combination of selected fish, this tank has it's merits!
@bananatree94 Just as sand, gravel can also be either really jagged or smooth. I've known many people who have kept sensitive bottom feeding fish with both gravel and sand, and usually the common problem is using sand that is too rough, which will hurt the animals. Either is fine, as long as its smooth not jagged and rough.
@hardcoreheigan i suppose that that is true, but they also like to bury themselves, i think it would be easier to bury themselves in sand than gravel?
wow spjc11 you are so stupid it's a fresh water tank you bitch
you just humiliated your self cause you don't know the difference between saltwater and fresh water even kinder gardeners know that go back to pre school faggit
u have a beautiful acquarium... why don't u put a blood parrot or an oscar in there... they will love it and u will love them... i have two plood parrots and htey interact whith humans
wow that guy who said its salt water is a dumbass pretty much all salt water tanks need sand not gravel and if you dont believe there freshwater type freshwater sting rays on google
don't have to usually good to keep more than one i think, and you can buy them lots of places, i live in kansas, and see them in sea dreams store in wichita, don't be fooled that is most definitely a freshwater aquarium, those look like marble rays, and a fire eel, and cichlids, VERY NICE SETUP. you can always get them offline if you need to, be careful though they are way harder to care for than regular walmart type fish.

@GroinStabbingPro greatly selected fish??? the sting rays are too big to be happy in a 200 gallon, and there is rock at the bottom.
georgeforeman89 1 year ago
nice fish but them rays need sand , gravel really isnt good for any fish like that , it can damage them
i think sand is better for all fish than gravel is anyways

The aquarium is not deep/whide enough for rays, of course. You can see that prolinepromo? If not you shuld really go see some expertice.
