• this is a good song to wake up to... maybe not the lyrics, but the music is incredibly relaxing and soft, so it's nice when you wake up. i had it set as my alarm for a while :)

• haha I love this song and also all the comments; "I call her for my next life" yay lol!

• "I need your money, I need your car..."

loool that makes me laugh but its so sad

• 've seen people cristicise regina's voices and songs but i think she is very brave in singing with her real voice and doesnt tamper much with it. no compression, equalizer... etc. you think it's flaw, but sounds so natural and more passionate.

if you listen carefully to songs like Rihanna's, they have been editted so much. Not that i'm against Rihanna, i just prefer people who can sing, can play and can record them as they truly are.

• Why is there a video for this song but not for Carbon Monoxide? Was Ode to Divorce even released as a single?

• I love how she uses her voice to imitate different instruments

• Help a brother out! LOL!

• i love the way she doesnt look all air brushed and fake.

she's so happy in her own skin, she's beautiful.

• i love this song "break me to small parts, let go in small doses" amazing lines!!!! shes amazing i call her for my next life!!!!

• thats my favorite line!!!

• "So won't you help a brother out?" that line is so bitter sweet. funny, in a really sad way.

• i love this song i could listen to this for hours to an end

xxx

• i think this song is a little better than chemo lemo.

• chemo limo is one of my favorites, but ode to divorce is good as well

• this song is so sad

• "Ode To Divorce" The food that I'm eating Is suddenly tasteless I know I'm alone now I know what it tastes like So break me to small parts Let go in small doses But spare some for spare parts There might be some good ones Like you might make a dollar I'm inside your mouth now
• So break me to small parts

Let go in small doses

But spare some for spare parts

You might make a dollar

Dollar, might make a dollar

So won't you help a brother out?

Won't you help a brother out?

Won't you help a brother out, out, out, out, out?

• So break me to small parts Let go in small doses But spare some for spare parts There might be some good ones You might make a dollar (There might be some good ones) There might be some good ones (You might make a dollar) You might make a dollar (There might be some good ones) There might be some good ones
• I love how she says Money the second time. MUNNEH.

• haha the song's presentation. tho thexy

• It's so amazing,

I love every song of her.

• i have many reasons why i fricken love regina spektor, and being a singer, i have A CRAPLOAD. but the one main reason that sticks with me every time i listen to one of her songs, is that she has this incredible voice range that she modestly flashes to everyone, not neglecting a single note in the many octaves she can go in. her style is quite varied, and she plays with things no one would ever go near. she has my utmost respect.

• the songs very strong

i like

go, regina...shes perfect singer and guapa!!!

• Hella yeah!!~ Reminds me of my family in ways... Hits right here in the heart! ~:)

• when i hear this song everytime it makes me feel sad!!

• This is an amazing song. I absolutely love it.

• God god god god god I love this song and I love Regina!

<3<3<3 she's simply amazing in every single way, right ? :D

• Haha I like this song. The lyrics made me smile.

• i love singing to this in the shower and creating harmonies with it. this song is amazing and so is everything else by regina! she is my idol :D

• and singing this the shower wouldn't kick you out!

• love the words! the food that i'm eating is suddenly tasteless....

shes brill beautiful voicex

• love this song =)

• i need your money, it'll help me, and i need your car and your love. won't you help a brother out?

it's so pretty.

• simple, but very beautiful video.

• i like this song, but i prefer her other songs xoxo ^^

• totally agree

i encourage everyone to dig for her unreleased stuff. it's even more incredible if thats possible

• I love this girl.

• I love the lighting in this video...very elegant. Good song.

• there is no-one with such passion and unbelievable talent, quite like regina spektor.

amazing.

• antifolk rules.

• really good music whoever says otherwise is an idiot

• This song is amazing.

It makes me want to cry,

But I really like it.

• I want to marry her.. Regina is awesome.

• ...are you into polygamy?

• I hope when I have kids regina is still in business or someone of the same caliber or greater as regina is in business because I don't want them influenced by unsophisticated pop freaks.

• scream me! totally agree

• love the part where she sings "you're going in, in for the kill, kill for the killer kiss, kiss" :)

• what does "ode" means?

• ode |ōd|

noun

a lyric poem in the form of an address to a particular subject, often elevated in style or manner and written in varied or irregular meter.

• historical a poem meant to be sung.

• A poem meant to be sung.

• poem i think

• dang regina spektor

you crazy but i like it

you have some crazy/cool songs yo

i'll help a brother out

• ode?

mm

no

well

she sings good.

anyone know a good piano tutorial for this piece?

• i swear, another hannah montana comment on regina spektors videos and i'm going to go insane!!

• One of my favourites songs of her!

• So amazing. It makes the entire world go silent.

• she needs to win a grammy or something. has she won anything yet?

• my heart

• i looooveee this song!

won't you help a brother out?

• this is my first time hearing this song and I love it...regina's voice is flawless...

• Regina Spector is really fantastic i always loved this song, ironically i will get divorced now :(

• Such an incredible, amazing artist! All her music moves me.....

• She's seriously amazing.:D

• "So won't you help a brother out?"

One of the BEST lyrics ever written. Regina Spektor rocks my socks.

• now i feel cool, the person who directed this has my last name. great song.

• lolz. =]

• she is utterly hypnotizing.

O.o

• Regina is a GENUINE person/artist and her music reflects that- popularity and numbers are the last thing she cares about. Hannah Montana and people like that have a team of greedy vultures ensuring they will be whored out to the blind masses... so they can make money.

Regina's music is THOUGHTFUL, INTELLIGENT, and HUMBLE. :D She is a true musician.

ReSpekt forever <3

• why do all of regina spektor's videos have people mentioning hannah montana? i don't see the connection?

• To highlight the contrast between a fictional teenage pop idol and an actual musician.

• lolz

• Regina Spektor is excellent. So is Laura Marling. Though that has nothing to do with anything. Just came to mind because they are both so original and wonderfully talented.

• I like the heart beating slowly in the beginning..

• everytime i hear a different song, i fall in love with her even more.

shes so unique, and she has such a classic beauty.

shes like, one of the people that deserves to be recognized, unlike hannah montana.

america does not know how to recognize the real blessings of talent.

• thats a sad song. i love regina spektor. she is my favorite singer. and that is a beautiful song. i cant understand.

• "want chu help a brotha out" rofl ah man she is so original.

Music needs Regina Spektor.

• you can appreciate Regina..because everytime you listen to her music, there's this deep meaning, you can feel the song i mean..I love you Regina.!haha

• she is the best singer EVER.

• This song is fabulous; I never get tired of it.

• I love this song. I used to cry and cry everytime I heard this song when my parents were considering a divorce. She should be more famous then that Hannah Montanna crap. She is just so amazing.

• She's much more popular than Hannah Montanna))Just because you don't hear of her as much, doesn't mean she's not noticed around the world. Hannah seems to be only popular in the States. Don't falter in faith! Regina prevails! lol))

• I don't get why everyone are so crazy about Hannah Montana.. she's just a character! And I mean, please! You can't compare HANNAH MONTANA to Regina Spektor! First of all, their music is not even a similar to eachother! Second , Regina is a fantastic piano-player, she plays classic music beautifully and her songs are totaly original to other popshit in the world.. Regina outshines Hannah Montana. the end.

• Hannah Montana is the ultimate two-faced person! and she sucks! Regina is the shit!and should never be compared to HANNAH MONTANA!!!

Hannah Montana is shit! not THE shit!!

• I SO agree...! Regina is a wonderful artist, does Hannah Montana even write her own songs? It's stupid to compare them , who started it anyway?! You can't compare them at all! WTF it's stupid...

• hannah montana

roflroflrofl

how in the hell can regina spektor bring white trash like that into mind.

• EXACTLY!

• ask the person who started this discussion.

and I couldn't agree with you more!

• dont like the music video love the song

• not that i've ever heard...

• Her music is so beautiful, as are her videos. 5/5, of course!

• You're talking to her nooooooow

And you've eaten something minty

And you're making that face that I like

And you're going in, in for the kill, kill

For the killer kiss, kiss for the kiss, kiss

...

• Oh my god, chill.

We all know you know the lyrics, okay?

If they want to share a part they like they can.

• 611752 has it exactly right. i die a little every time she speaks or sings or plays or moves or even breathes...it is a death i welcome for when I am gone I will be that much closer to her.

• can somebody explain me the

so wont you help your brother out?

sorry i dont get it :$

• why does it matter? its irony! x

• srry

im from argentina that's why i didn't get it

• I don't think anyone answered your question. Help a brother out is a figure of speech that most people would expect a young black male of the 'gangsta' variety to say. It is common to call young black males of this types 'brothas' so her saying 'wont you help a brother out' is just a comical/ironic way of her saying help me out or something. It could be a some saying that the subject of this song says alot.

• ohh thanks =)

• Absolutely lovely. I'm speechless.

• I honestly wish I could adopt her, or marry her, or something. She's the most beautiful, sweet, insightful, and talented woman in the world. My friends make fun of me because of my ridiculously immense obsession with her, but I don't even care. She's an amazing artist,

• Haha I know right some people like my mom says this is not good music and I love it she is original and talented and I love that her music is weerd and diffrent!

• What?! Your mommy is crazy!

This is beautiful music.

• My mom loves this song lol its a little weird but pretty cool :p

• OMG! I'm in love with this song! This video is so simple but so beatiful! aa! Regina Rocks! I mean, she is the best singer in the world!

• I liked this song before, but I think this video is the most beautiful music video I've ever seen! So simple, and she is so gorgeous without being one bit slutty. Her voice is so amazing too, and the piano...ah, too much for words.

• What a pretty and powerful song. What a beautiful calming voice. I love her; she is an artist. She is so much better than that awful Mariah.

• does anyone else hear echoes of loveology in this song?

• Just listening to the song wile watching the video was enough to make tears well up in my eyes. The song itself is amazingly beautiful, but the video is the cherry on top.

• i love her. i don't even attempt to tell you guys how much, because regina is just too good for words.

greatest artist of all time, besides the beatles maybe.

• I love her she is perfect but why isnt she famous such a Rihanna because she is BETTER

• this video inspired me to write a poem once.

• This song is so good...

It makes stronger.. Bcuz my parents are getting divorced now so.. Regina really helps me trough.. X

• This is officially my favorite song ever.

• How can one person be so talented?

• omg, she hasn't got one single bad song! Every song is amazing because she is so fucking great!.. <3

• I have been listening to her religiously for the past 5 years. She mainly got her name out on myspace. What I love about her is that eventhough she became more well-known she stayed true to her style and never sold out. She is amazing.

• I agree. So many artists feel they have to dumb down their lyrics and their sounds to appeal to public. I understand it gets money, but I believe if you do like Regina did, she still made what she wanted to make and she appealed to a broad audience. Her songs actually have meaning they aren't about stupid boyfriends leaving her to go be with their "gurl".

• This is why I like Youtube.

Never heard of her before.

And all of a sudden - BOOM!

Something new and amazing.

• Can you spell Rob without a b?

• Rod?

Ron?

Rock?

Rog(er)?

Ross?

I get them all. All the time. Especially "Rod". Spare the Rod, okay. So what if it spoils the child? So many deaf people out there. What part of this do they not understand? It's only 3 letters, people. Rob. Rob, as in steal and plunder. It's Rob. ROB, okay! With a frikkin B. For Bazooka, baby.

*sigh*

Busy making an explanatory video as we speak. Likely to be the funniest thing since... well... since my previous one.

Which wasn't.

But thanks for asking.

• I know what you mean! I'm Zoe, simple enough? Nup, I get called Zac- I'm a GIRL!

• yeah i totally agree

• How is it possible that i've only heard of her today for the first time...shes a wonderful, beautiful, talented woman

• wow she is such an original human being :)

• yup for me, one of the difficult thing with her is choosing the FAVORITE song among her compilations... like when the 1st time i heard her singing Fidelity, tot it was my favorite song but then i heard another one and another one,, damn! can i hav them all?

• for some reason, out of all her songs,

this remains on eof my favorite favorites..

well, they're all my favorites..

but if i stop calling them favorites, people don't realize how i prefer all of her songs over anything else..

• Regina Spektor..True Musican man=]

<3

=]xo

• ......

• i just attracted to her songs

• She's beautiful.

Her voice is beautiful.

She's amazing.

<33

• i think she is the most beautiful singer even when her songs dont make sense to some people u just have to look deeper than the outer meanings, think deeper and her songs can really touch u.

• I really agree with you! only people with deep thinking are the one who could understand the tru meaning of her songs, shallow ones just ignored...

Cheers!!

• amazing i love it and it has great meaning^__^

• cute

• she's like a little beautiful tori amos, i wonder if they've met.....they could make such a wonderful duet!!!=)

• does someone know were you can find the sheet music of here songs for the pinao ???

Love her songs!!!!!!!

• her eyes are especially luminous. i expected this video to be very different. i like it though... it's just so... her. it's just so regina.

• Regina Spektor is amazing, I adore her. This song is the song that got me hooked on her. One of my favourites.

<3

• ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

• Absolutely agree - there is something special - Discovering that is making my day !!

• Her songs always inspire me to do something. It doesnt have to be a big thing, but it makes me want to change, to make a difference somehow.

• wow amasing video, the close-ups r cool

• this is a good album. its one of those rare albums that an artist will churn out and cannot replicate. her other stuff is good. eleven eleven got me into her.

• 2:36 pure magic

• that is a very dramatic song

• She has a really sweet voice. =)

• I'm so jealous of her playful use of language...

It's genious...

• Usually i'm into garage rock, 60's 70's punk and all that stuff but i could tell that i'm really impress by that"Soviet kisth" album. Regina spektor is one of the few singer we could call "songwriter" in those painfull Mtv times.

• Yeah by "those painful MTV times" I hope you mean 1995-present..

• Of course MTV was great when they had acoustic gigs like Nirvana, Oasis, Smashing pumpkins and all that great last "REAL" band of the 90's. But sorry now i don't think that James Blunt or The Killers 'll save anything from the shit around.

• Mmmm.. You're totally right. I agree. I like the old stuff too, but I prefer 70's, 80's and 90's too. Now is MTV and music totally scrap. But Regina... Regina is exception, she is great... And the texts are so good.

• shes the only white girl who can say "help a brother out" and sound completely adorable :)

• Dude, you're soooooooo right :D

• I adore how she takes inspiration in from all experiences and everything, not just her own life. This woman stuns and amazes me.

• "you're talkin' to her now, and you've eaten something minty and you're making that face that i like and you're goin' in-in for the kill-kill, for the killer kiss..." :(

• this video is beautiful. the song too. regina too.

• Does anyone know what album this song is on? I heard it off of the album "Seventeen" and was mesmerized by it. Obviously I have the song but I like to listen to songs in the context of their album.

• It's from the Soviet Kitsch album.
