  • i could see this eating up fuck loads of ram and graphic card memory

  • dat is kut man..:S heb je helemaal niks aan.. zo kun je nog niet zien wat je allemaal aan hebt staan op je bureaublad:S

  • Nice! ;)

  • aww cute dog pic

  • Looks so crusty. Machine doesn't appear to be handling it very well and the image quality looks bad.

  • YOU RIGHT BUDDY THIS IS A TRASHY SOFTWARE, tHIS PEOPLE ARE STUPID THEY SHOULD BE USING LINUX LOOKS PARFORMS AND WORKS BETTER THAN THIS SHIT

  • Looks too unfinished for me to use.

  • that would be nice in a holographic projection around me...and i would just turn and look around at what windows are around me

  • Mmmmhhh... That's nice. But 3D Desktop systems for Linux are better....

  • is there a version for vista?reply plz

  • No offense... but haven't you noticed this is Linux... if there was an arms race between linux, mac, and Windows on graphics and design... linux is way too far ahead already...

This is really a great idea... but truly need more development and some more outside of the box thinking..

  • Sorry to burst your bubble but this is Windows. SphereXP is made for Windows only, and so is Spybot S&D that you can see in the video ;)

  • Heh, when one uses linux, Spybot S&D becomes rather redundant.

  • i don't know if i want this

  • tried it... very buggy... great concept but poor implementation. I can only hope the linux community comes up with a better sphere. (the cube is great but this is definately the next step towards a better 3D desktop)

  • yo quiero..!!!!!

  • OMG.. ok controlling 3D object is ok.. but this makes me wanna throw-up !!

  • ur talking about the OS itself? that's alot... XP uses 128 minimum.. but ideally u'd want at least 512 to have multiple things open... and 256 works (im on a laptop with it now).

95 used more like a few mb b/c the memory ur pc had was 32 mb... so 95 prob took 1-10 mb..

vista is like 1-2 gb. im sure it runs on 512-1 gb, but to get all the effects and technologies u would want 2-3 gb

  • i used this, its so easy to get completele lost especially with the zoom feature

  • processor hog and useless

  • Beryl for linux is much better than vista and this fing!

  • BERYYYYYL~ *high-fives*

  • someone how whats a 3D or more interactive desktop like me then use vista. It runs on my PC perfectly an the 3D didn´t sucks some pc storage!!

  • I tried spherexp before and it makes using the computer so much harder and confusing, not easier. Maybe it has been improved since I tried it.

  • It gets easier, now I been using it for nearly 3 years, its a lot faster than anything else Ive used. Shortcuts straight to a different desktop is what you need to use, and theme it, so you dont get lost.

  • This isn't Vista ... it's XP with an addon product which enables a 3D desktop - Sphere

  • Awesome!, that could be a nice idea for a compiz/beryl plugin that can replace the boring cube :D

  • horrible

  • looks nice but i just couldnt live with that good old standerd desctop for me

  • it was interesting

  • Hi Windows XP retro fans :)

Impressive what you still can do with a 10 year old OS.

  • I just recent signed up to the Vista Beta 2 program and had it on my system for 2 days before removing it as 8 out of 10 pieces of software I was using didn't work. Couldn't even get an AV program to work properly from the start. So it may be a decade old, but it does the job!

  • yes, xp is a really fine OS and it does not need these huge ressources, like vista does.

  • Vista will get optimised, using less resources, but the main problem I had was so many of my video/audio programs just would not work! and admittedly the game BF2 lose about 40% power on this pc, needing some restrictive graphics settings

  • I dunno multiple monitors are alot easier, i suppose if i combine both features it will be a ultimate experiance

  • Vista is still a beta so it's probably compiled with lot of debug code. I think that with 2 GB RAM and decent video drivers Vista won't be so much slow... but we have to wait for the release candidate.
