UNDOING has already completed its theatrical run. It played in SF, NY, Boston and LA. DVD is being released on March 11 (its available for pre-order on most of the major online retail sites now).
i went to a screening tonight, and it was wonderful. Sung and the producers were very hard-working people who are serious about what they are doing, and they are really the leading force of asian american independent films. i respect them very much and i really admire their courage to do something revolutionary to the common image of asians, which is generally true, but not always.
Did we watch the same movie? I too heavily support asian cinema in america, but this movie was not well put together, total lack of character developement. I had no idea where the main character came from and where he was going. And for a movie set in K-town, you totally did not get the feel of it.
I can't tell you to like the film, but this genre of film is famous for not being black and white in explaining everything. The most recent film I can point to with very similar characteristics is No Country For Old Men (which, not coincidentally, was made by the Coen Brothers, whose films were definitely an influence on this one)
i'm gonna love this movie, but it came out in 2006. at least thats what the movie claims. "Sung Kang" is a very good actor, and he's hott. ever since tokyo drift i've been in love. and seeing him on MADTV a lot, made it better lol
I know, I fell in love with him in Tokyo Drift, he's so HOT and seems so hard-working. He'l also realy intelligent too, from what I can tell watching his interviews.
