  • Marty is playing Clarence Whites old Telecaster, is he not? And I see Randy Scruggs, but is that Danny Thompson on bass?

  • This has to do with the original by Johnny Cash anymore. Too bad, I like both the music of Johnny Cash and Travis Tritt.

  • God..Marty Stuart is an incredible guitarist!

  • no disrespect to Travis Tritt but its just lacking that drive that the song gets from the Man in Black

  • Travis is much better than folks give him credit for. You don't pal around with Marty Stuart if you're a poser.

  • @danlay

    You have a point.....

  • awesome job by Travis Tritt, We need more singers like Travis in the world of country music today, the only thing we have close to that today in my opinion is Jamey Johnson.

  • VERY NICE!!!!

  • That was some clean lead by Marty.

  • WOW! lov it!!!!

  • Excellent!

  • rock on travis tritt

  • thank you for putting all of these travis videos up. he was my 1st favorite artist!!! lol. when i was 4 i told my mom and dad i was going to marry Travis Tritt. wonderful videos!!!

  • To everyone who seems to like to open their mouth and comment on how bad Waylon's version was, he recorded that as a TRIBUTE to his best friend, and Johnny liked that recording too. They were brothers-in a sense, when Travis did this, he was honoring Johnny, and his hero and friend, Waylon Jennings. There is no denying that Waylon or Johnny were great musicians, and each respected and loved each other as friends.

  • Great Version

  • richtig cool

  • I usually steer clear of this But nobody your an idiot

  • good than u won't mind me telling that kris has several gold records and he has won songwriter of the year for the last 10 years . i would sing every song he writes if given the chance oh and fyi

    there's two f's kristofferson

  • What are you talking about? you have no idea about country music do you? Go away and learn about stuff before you come and make a stupid comment like that!

  • I think travis did an excellent job on this, and marty did a great job as usually on lead. Did anyone catch a glimpse of brett mason in the back? It's close to the end. Great video, thanks for loading

  • he is good ....and the only one who is allowed to sing JOHNNY`s song that way....Johnny would have liked it

  • waylon did this version first on hos "Ive always been crazy album...travis was tributing to waylon more in my eyes

  • I love this version - it stands on it's own, kinda bluesy as only Travis can sing the blues.

  • Please excuse my foul choice of words, but he sung the mother fucker out of that song right there. Damn!!! 5 stars

  • i motherfucken agree. he is absolutely my favorite male country singer. seen him twice at some small venues. I even turned my 69 yr old mother on to him... this man can sing

  • They put outstanding emotion in this song, paying tribute to a legend. Even the Cash family gave them a standing ovation at the end. Technically, 3 people ruined it because Waylon Jennings did a slow version of it back in the 70s.

  • Johnny, Waylon, Willie and Kris are my musical heros. Didn't mean to offend you but Marty and Travis really did screw it up in my opinion. Carry on, please.

  • no way did they ruin it...look at it as art...u ever hear of re-inventing?? i love this version and im a die hard cash fan

  • upallnite i went to your channel to see what other bs u had to say and the first thing i saw was englbert humperdink on there. i cannot take anything you say seriously after seeing that. englbert humperdink??? come on!!!!

  • @bigdmck01 neither Waylon nor Travis ruined it they just made it their own. I think you agree to bad the other douche bag doesn't realise it

  • @bigdmck01 Hey I just wanted to say thank you for the videos! Everytime I have a day off I always have your vids on just wanted to say thanks. Raising my lonestar to you :)

  • @UPALLNITE4U Marty Stewart ain't no sluch either...

  • @UPALLNITE4U maybe you should shut your damn mouth asshole

  • @pamelaerwin80

    Fuck you, Pam.

  • Johnny Cash will never be forgoton. There will never be another1 like him.

  • i long i'am alive i don't no but i hope always Johnny in my hart because he gived big.

  • i love this song,,,,,reminds me of the special memories i have of certain people

  • Travis Has Always Been One Of My Faves, always will be.. but there'll be another Johnny Cash, they dont make em like that anymore

  • This is Waylon Jennings' version! Travis is paying his respects to two of country's mega stars! Do your homework people! Waylon recorded his version in the early seventies.

  • Okay, I see, excellent point. Waylon did do the original slow version of this song. Travis also recorded the slow version of this song on the Johnny Cash Tribute album, which even though it's a cover, it's his own version, too.

  • @bigdmck01

    Is it on youtube??

  • @kinkead1977 -where can I find the Waylon Jennings version of this song?

  • its not "better" than the original....it's well done....tt knows not to go there cuz its cash land so to pay homage to the man in black ya gotta change it make it yours but keep it....its a razors edge an tt got it .....

  • good fucking performance

  • Travis Tritt....you're a legend mate. Come to Oz one day please!

  • Johnny Cash is a LEGEND

    TT "still in the making"

    No comparison to JC. RIP

  • better than the origonal

  • Well, I wouldn't necessarily say that, but it's certainly a beautiful rendition to pay tribute to a legend.

  • no way.

  • i agree. musically more soulful than the original, and it does the lyrics justice.

  • @dylan15h

    Maybee

  • so good I used it as my wedding song

  • This version or The orginal Cash version?

  • This version, we thought the slower version that Travis does fit the occasion very well.

  • Wonderful performance!

I saw the show 3 years ago and could never get this song out of my head, what an amazing job with a great song!!!

  • A moving tribute to Johnny Cash....sang by an excellent country singer....Travis Tritt, with musical help from one of Marty Stuart's mentors....I saw alot of big name guys in the band, and in the end, I saw John Cash and memebers of the Cash family!

    Excellent Job!

  • Beautiful rendition of a beautiful song!!!

  • Awesome !!! What else can you say about this?

  • Two great performers together. I Marty and Travis, add a Johnny Cash song and you have it all.

  • Great performance by two of

    nashville's best!
