I still wonder, she lived many years in America and speaks more English than Russian, but her Russian is without an accent almost pure ... :)

My brother is fluent in Bulgarian. He can speak extremely easily both Serbian and Russian. And our native language is Greek is unrelated to Slavic languages.

So that gives you an picture of how easy it is for a Serbian to learn to speak Russian... he needs to day just 1-2 months in Russia and he is fluent or something.

So I wonder why people are so surprised to see she is speaking Russian.

Her Russian is good! The surprising thing is that she has almost no accent but has difficulty finding appropriate words or saying them in an appropriate way. Usually it's the other way round.

The interviewer definitely adds in after the bad Russian comment "can you believe it?". If you don't speak Russian though it is understandable that the comment seemed rude.

What she should have said if she had any class at all is that Milla actually speaks very well. But she doesn't.

I can't help but think that that was due to envy.

the interviewer didn´t say that Mila´s Russian is bad, the translation wasn´t simply accurate enough. She actually said :"could you believe it /just imagine some people/ someone said that you aren´t capable of speaking Russian?" it was rather meant as a compliment, because she was astonished by her ability to speak Russian so fluently.

And Renata Litvinova has in my opinion much more style, although I like them both actually.

So think before posting something.
