@DENo1MatchGameFan So. That place is still "Studio 33" to you is it? If I became the new host of TPIR in the distant future, you will probably want to take some medication to prevent Nausea!
@RPSteve Don't think I'll have to worry, as Drew Carey seems to have the show under control, but thanks for thinking of me though! As far as Studio 33 goes, other casts (aka "The Carol Burnett Show"), & game shows (aka "Match Game"), and their stars (Carol Burnett, Gene Rayburn) deserve their name on the wall more than a person whose legend has been tainted by scandal brought onto him by his bigger than life ego!
@DENo1MatchGameFan I personally I believe Studio 33 should have been named for Bill Cullen because he hosted 24 game shows. Out of those 24 game shows, he hosted The Price Is Right from 1956 to 1965. Another show he originally hosted was the $25,000 Pyramid in 1974. But the Carol Burnett studio or Gene Rayburn studio would have worked too. At least Bill Cullen was acknowledged on a April Fool's episode of TPIR years back.
@AMEwrestling I would agree, but even though I love Bill Cullen as 'the dean of game show hosts', he never hosted "TPIR" on CBS (as his versions were on NBC and ABC), & I think his main show from there was "Child's Play" in 1982. As for Gene and Carol, they would have been more fitting, but instead of naming a studio after one person, CBS should have done what they did for "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" at CBS Studio Center by displaying a plaque recognizing EVERYONE from the shows.
@DENo1MatchGameFan Mark Goodson studio was another possibility due to the number of game shows he produced in Studio 33. CBS offered Bill Cullen to reprise his role on The Price Is Right, but he turned it down due to his polio. Who could blame Cullen for that?
@AMEwrestling If Studio 33 had to be named after anyone, Mark Goodson would be the best choice! I know that Bill couldn't have done the current version of "TPIR" due to his polio, but Mark also wanted Dennis James to host the daytime version of the show. CBS wanted Barker due to him hosting "Truth Or Consequences" instead, so he became the host, & I imagine something was exchanged 'underneath the table' when the studio was named after Barker between him and the network!
@DENo1MatchGameFan And looked what happened to Barker, the Deborah Curling case was the straw that broke CBS' back. Somewhat they do regret naming the Studio 33 after Bob Barker. The Mark Goodson studio should have been.
What year was this, 1981?

@elbertproductions Don't remind me - I still think of it as Studio 33 regardless of Barker's name being on there!
