  • what did you say you put in the dipping sauce for the sushi? =)

  • can i get nama shoyu on a website or something?

  • Thanks for sharing this recipe! I saw the sushi with jicama rice on a video Dan made of a raw food party. I was planning to wing it, but wouldn't have thought of the marinated mushrooms and ginger. Nice touches. And, so glad you said the jicama doesn't have to be dehydrated; it's so delicious and refreshing raw. Yum.

  • @elwelch3

that was me in the video. and in my kitchen ;) it was our fruit and veggie party! hope you enjoy!!

  • This looks so good.Once again I'm going to try this one also.

  • woow, very creative and knowledgeable thank you!

  • @Helenelalala

  • Amazing, just Amazing..!

  • @darkgreenjuice

  • Who clicked the dislike button? Must be a jealous sushi chef :D

  • @cyclesomewhere

that is funny! must be a fish eater!

  • Beautiful recipe.

  • @margysd

    thank you! :)

  • @CdoGGx

i don't use it very often. tamari is great. no need for the nama shoyu. :)

  • Wow I absolutely love the creativity and variety of dishes you are presenting, you have a true gift when it comes to food, thank you so much for sharing. Just a quick tip on the sushi, if you want perfectly even cuts for presentation, start by cutting the sushi roll directly in the center, then cut those two pieces directly in the center, then cut those four pieces directly in the center which equals eight even pieces.

  • @Curious24seven

thanks on the cutting tip! :)

  • i dipped jicama in beat juice and they came out great. thanks :)

  • this looks delicious --

  • @SuperVt100

    videodotvshdotorg/Greger6dothtml

Awesome looking recipe.. I'm gonna have to try it.

    Thanks Dara!

  • @doug209

    i know, my amazing editor.

he is making me look good ;)

  • I watched this again because I was so impressed and now I'm hungry! lol. I do have a question for you Dara. Let's say someone lives in a colder climate. What are some tips on raw foods for them. I love fall because everything is so comforting and that might be my hardest challenge with all the baked stuff and warming foods. Do you have any advice on that?

  • yummmmm yum yum ty :)

  • @mohara12

they may think your stupid but at least you are not

clogging your colon with sticky white rice ;)

    thank you! x

  • I've made the 'rice' with parsnips too and loved it!

Dara, I love your vids and am really looking forward to them each day! Thank you for sharing and teaching us!

  • @sharonsoars

parsnips great idea. many people cannot get jicama!

    thanks! Dara

  • @radicalaccounting to grow the juicy sunflower sprouts, you need to use a dish of dirt - it doesn't work with the jar method... There is a vid on Ronnie Skurow's channel I think...

  • @sharonsoars

    thank you :)

  • thanks for the tips. I'll try to make the "rice" with Cauliflower and pine nuts instead. Have a wonderful day:)

  • @MissRawSweden

    i hear parsnips work.

    sounds good to me!

    happy day to you! :)

  • Thanks Dara for another recipe

  • @RadianceSearch

    you are welcome!

  • I did it! So pretty and tasty-thank you!

  • @theRoseofmyheart

    wonderful! i find adding crunch

and fruit is nice. and jacon syrup!

  • I don't eat sushi

  • This is the first thing you've made that is something I would like to eat. I love salads, and some juices, but not some vegetables, or nuts more than condiments. For now, baby steps.

I bought organic sunflower seeds and a jar with spout lid to make those giant sunflower spouts I see in stores in CA, could be a salad onto themselves. Now I can't figure out how to make them. Can you teach how please?

    Thanks, and God bless!

  • @radicalaccounting

    sunflower sprouts need soil

try mung beans or alfafa. easy!

will get to a video on that!

  • @MissRawSweden

jicama is from Mexico. try cauliflower and pine nuts. you are welcome Dear Melanie! you have a

    wonderful day too! :P

  • I am all about the raw as long as its safe. Studies have revealed that raw Portabella Mushroom along with some other edible mushrooms contain small amounts of carcinogenic hydrazine derivatives, including agaritine and gyromitrin. These should not be eaten raw.

  • @MickScarborough

    very interesting indeed.

i don't eat mushrooms that often, but they do

    mimic a meaty texture.

thanks for the info. everyone can decide for themselves. :)

  • @daradubinet I checked it out, he is right. The recipe is great ( with or without the mushrooms). Go to wikipedia and read the citations. I thanked him for the info.

On another note, that recipe had me dying for a bite.

  • @MickScarborough Wow! You are right. I read the study from the link on wikipedia! Thanks!

I think this recipe is mouthwatering with or without the portobello.

That study was no joke, and at least for mice, the danger was not apparently overstated. I really don't buy mushrooms because of their lack of nutritional content anyway, but good to know.

  • @MickScarborough

a member of my research team ( friend and subscriber) has checked out

your info and comfirms your statement. so, leave out the mushrooms or cook

    them and add them in!

no worries either way. the avo does the trick for the creamy factor. thanks everybody!

  • Thanks, Dara for the info especially about the hicama... It's great to know it's not necessary to dehydrate. As a raw foodist, I try use my excalibur for certain occasions. Not too much.

  • @Vigilant1776

yes. the jicama is great. squeeze moisture out. add finely ground pine nuts for even better flavor.

i used a cup of them. more hydration better and no need to clean teflex sheets! :)

  • @daradubinet Thank you, pine nuts are not cheap at the health food stores... I try to buy in bulk whenever I can. I forgot I pretty much used the last of my jicama on rawmazing's jicama Dill Salad a few days ago, which btw was amazing.:) Looking forward to more of your artistic creations...

  • Yum!

  • Your food is absolutely amazing. I have been raw for about 6 months and you have taught me so much. Could/Would you be able to do videos that encompass a whole group of foods such as like all types of "nut cheese" or "types of simple dressings" Thanks

  • Fish arn't animals.

  • Those look great! I can't wait to break those out at a party!

  • Thanks so much!! I love Asian cuisine and am having serious cravings for Udon and Ramen.. I'm thinking some zucchini noodles and fresh veggies will be no problem but how do I come up with an amazing broth?

You are such a joy to watch dara... Thanks so much for your generosity and love : )

  • @thisisariane

kelp noodles would be the thing!!!

i will put this on my video wish list and come up with a recipe.

    Dara

  • Wow...this looks so delicious:) I'm going to make this tomorrow. I'm learning so much from your channel! Thank you for the awesome recipes!

  • @sofitsofab

    thank you so much! :)

  • I am going to make this for dinner tomorrow. Looks so yummy!

  • yaaay this is awesome!!

  • @PamCakes726

    thank you Pammycakes ;)

i look forward to much of this in the future. thanks for saying so!

  • Another great lesson! Your Saurekraut recipe finally came to its proper fermentation, and I added some caraway seed, and jarred it. It turned out so yummy! Two quarts! I am learning so much from your channel. I'm just about to make some juice, and wing it with making some crackers with pulp, and left-over almond meal from some nut-mik I made. I've made almost half of the recipes you've generously taught and shared with us. This one tomorrow. Thank You Dara. "Raw Godess Chef' !!!!

  • This looks SO amazing! I was looking forward to making the ninja rolls you and Dan made, but I think I'll have to go all out and make this! The final product is GORGEOUS by the way. Much love, Dara (and Gage).

  • @freerangekitty

the ninja rolls are similar :)

just wanted to give a more extensive explanation :)

  • According to mushroom expert Paul Stamets, eating raw portobello and button mushrooms can cause tumors in the body. This is one food I would suggest cooking.

  • @777buenavida777 I know of Stamets. Point us to the research he came to that conclusion please. It might be important.

  • @dread313 I found the video on Daryl Hannah's site, dhlovelifedotcom. It's titled "Fun Guy," under past show archives.

  • Top Notch! i'm droooling :-)..............

  • Why do I feel disappointed when your videos are over? More Please.

  • @dread313

ANOTHER ONE LATER. A FUN ONE with the RAW BRAHS :)

  • @daradubinet Oh YA!

  • @dread313

OKAY. more! :) so sweet. thank you :)

  • @daradubinet Nice, No problem! ;p I'll check them out once I get home.

  • Dara that looks better than actual sushi hands down! yummmmm. I will have to give this a go one night and see what my family thinks. You are making me start to believe you can make anything out of raw food! :)

  • @mxdmama

oh yes i can do that! on the plan for this week!!!

  • Dara check out my video of my crabby wife. More to come!

  • What was in the dipping sauce?

  • @pinetree909

    tamari and honey

  • This is great, Dara, thank you! I am just getting started with juicing and raw food and I've gotten so many ideas from you that I never would have thought of myself, you are great! :-)

    Cheers!

    -Greg

  • @greglam

i got many ideas from learning from other people too! :)

  • Yum!

  • Looks good ♥ I'm going to make it tonight !

  • @Nahimabella

    :)!

  • Looks so fresh and delicious! Will definitely try it ^_^

  • @Briseis22

    yay!

  • 美味しいそう!

  • @veuvecliquot

    :)!

  • I have never seen jicama for sale here in the UK. Do you have any suggestions of what could be used instead?

  • Well I don't know that you made the editing changes yourself, but I just meant that you'd find ways to improve over time even if it means getting other people to contribute his, or her, skills to your project.

  • I'm impressed with your editing on this video. You're getting more professional. I knew you were going to. I see the ambition and desire for perfection in you. You're passively very competitive. I know you Dara ;) well I don't know you, but I read people quite well.

  • AWESOME!!! :) Love, Peace

    God bless

  • @luis04191

    yay!

  • Yes!!! More Dara vids! I have a question. What would you suggest I rehydrate my jicama rice with. I dried it too long. Not all of it dried but most of it did.

  • Dara, thank you, your video's are so inspiring! Its really helping me to get back on the raw wagon!!! Thank you so much, God bless you!

  • Awesome :) Thank you

  • Scooby Dubinet, where are you? We've got some work to do now ! Lol

  • I really enjoy watching your shows - I like how you added those editing shots! Great positive vibes - love it :)

  • What was the sauce that you dipped the sushi in? :)

  • Um, Yum.

  • I love your vibe, you seem a kind hearted person and you deserve all the best.

  • Hey thank you! Synchronicities! Like I just posted in one of your videos that I would love to learn to make these and here it is!! THANK YOU!
