Thank you all for your comments. You all know your Pans but I would like explain why these pans sound the ways they do. These pans are the older models of the pans built in Jamaica by a great Professor Ruben Bernard. He designs it to have no ring tones as the ring tone weakens the pans ability to give a strong vibration. This pan is not made by him but sound similar. I used this as an experiment to develop a strong tone yet a good ring tone without taking away the strength of the note.
ummmm...the flight was good, i understand your intent with the song. I have played that song on double seconds but for you to play it on double tenor (5 thumbs up).
However, the pan needs to throw away if it can not be tuned. You also need thinner rubbers for the sticks in order to hear the high notes because they are smaller...(preferably, tenor rubbers on the double tenor sticks).
