Cool thing in Alaska, pits are still pretty good. At least at the big shows. I fucked my knee up in a pit one time and had about three guys grab me up and get me out of there. This will probably show severe signs of my ass growing old but... I just don't get the OVER aggressive violent moshing?! A few years back I took my 14 year old son to Ozzfest in Glen Helen / San Bernardino, CA where they had set up K rails back in the lawn as a PATHWAY but it became a MOSH SUPER HIGHWAY for the 250 lb. Hard Core Mosh Tanks!! My son jumped over there and luckily I was able snatch him back before he was vaporized by the herd of angry freight trains in there!! WTF...??
All I can say is if you go to a metal show and go into a pit, either your not a pussy, or your really dumb. And Either way, both people deserve to go into the pit.

My first and best moshing experience was with this band. I fell and got trampled a bit, had a few bruised ribs, but after I was helped back up I was right back at it. There were no "Windmillers", no morons throwing punches and kicks everywhere, it was closely compared to a tribal dance around the fire, with pushing and a lot of screaming.

im not real sure what its like in other places, but down here in corpus we always pick each other up. goin to shows its like a huge family reunion. its usually the same people and we all just go out to have a good time, we'll punch each other in the face, then walk away with our arms around each other like were the best of friends.
I saw 5FDP in San Diego in January and i went in the pits and they weren't full of people annihilating each other. They were picking everybody up and helping them into the pits. It was pretty brutal.
I never understood "moshing". If it was just a dance style, I could understand it, but whats with people slugging it out in front of a stage? If I had a show and some people were hitting, I'd have them thrown out on their ass.
I went to May 1st EDBD 17 there were people helping each other out in the pits, I was one of them. So yeah, there are not many people who are nice in pits anymore. But yeah I agree with scotty82g go punch a baby little bitch emo pussy if you wanna hit someone.

I was in the very front with my brother and sister in a crazy pit, and it was great. Even if you get hurt the music inspires you to hold your ground. I saw them two days ago in Edmonton the mosh pit was intense but, i didnt see anything that was overly violent (cept a guy who punched a guy in the face at the start and got thrown out) in, fact most people hit the floor if they started to fall they were back up almost instantly. im not real sure what its like in other places, but down here in corpus we always pick each other up. goin to shows its like a huge family reunion. its usually the same people and we all just go out to have a good time, we'll punch each other in the face, then walk away with our arms around each other like were the best of friends.

I saw 5FDP in San Diego in January and i went in the pits and they weren't full of people annihilating each other. They were picking everybody up and helping them into the pits. It was pretty brutal.

I was in the very front with my brother and sister in a crazy pit, and it was great. Even if you get hurt the music inspires you to hold your ground. What I say to anyone who wants to go to a concert and enjoy it if it's metal, GO NEAR THE FRONT. PICK A SPOT. TRY TO STAY THERE. PUSH EVERYONE THE FUCK AWAY THAT TRIES TO TAKE IT. I feel sorry for the dude that punched my brother at Five Finger, he in turn one punched 3 people behind him lol.

I saw them two days ago in Edmonton the mosh pit was intense but, i didnt see anything that was overly violent (cept a guy who punched a guy in the face at the start and got thrown out) in, fact most people hit the floor if they started to fall they were back up almost instantly.
