@kunkelandson From what I understand, from more advanced turners out there, once you can't smell the finish, it is food safe. I personally wouldn't recommed it. If I were to make a "food-safe" bowl, I would only use natural "butcher block oil" and recommend that whoever uses it, re-apply it after washin it to keep the wood protected. I hope this helps.

wipe on poly would be good for a guitar ?? what do you think??

@elwichode1980 I'm not expert, on that one, but* I would think* if you sand & apply
etc...similar to my bowl, it should work fine as long as guitar is made from
real wood or is it laminate? my guitar is a Gibson and is solid so I would
try it on that one, but a laminate may not work. Please be careful and ask
more experts before "going for it". As far as finish goes, I know Poly
penetrates, so it should work, but again...I can't guarantee and* I'm not a
guitar expert*.
