@Sensates85 Depends of what kind of tone you're seeking. The Custom 5 has ceramic magnet and is best paired with a SD 59 in the neck (also ceramic). It's highly recommended for rosewood fingerboard guitars.
The Custom Custom is best paired with a SD Pearly Gates in neck. The Custom Custom has an Alinco II magnet, and has a bigger bottom end, it's recommended for maple or ebony type of fingerboards.
If you really dig the Custom Custom you should check out Dimarzio's ToneZone!!!
Hey man! Just pure awesomeness! Great tone, great playing great everything! haha..
Are these pickups still avaible? What wood are that body? Coz i really like something like this in my Jackson RR24, sick of the active pup's, and this seems to have plenty of just everything.
@RobinStrower Thanks man - The CC is great and I love the sound of if in this guitar, but I find that everything sounds kinds bright with the Marshall. I still love the crunchiness of the Aldrich pickups..
sorry what's this "soCal"?

@sndgarden
The SH/TB-14 (custom 5) and Duncan SH-1 (59) both use Alnico V magnets.
The SH/TB-5 (custom) and Duncan SL59 ('lil '59 for strat) use ceramic magnets
The Dimarzio ToneZone also uses an Alnico V and is akin to the SD JB or Custom 5
The Dimarzio Super Distortion uses a ceramic mag and is akin to the SD Distortion or Invader.
However the companies are not interchangeable and have unique tone even with similar magnets and coil windings.

would this be good alternative metal? i play a fender telecaster hh
Islayedthebat 5 months ago
@Islayedthebat It should go very well in a tele. I recommend you install a coil tap for the bridge position.

@Islayedthebat Definitely, any high output hum bucker would be perfect for Atl. Metal
