  • is there also a tripad or mouse as well as the touchscreen?

  • does the laptop come with the fingerprint reader , camera, microphone , and wifi internaet crap or do u have to customize it whengoing to buy

  • it comes with all of those but the fingerprint reader, which is only 25 dollars extra.

  • It's all different. Some have the fingerprint reader, and the bluetooth, and some don't. I think all come with the webcam and microphone, and wireless.

  • if you use the finger print reader, can you still input the password manually?

  • Yes.

  • I'm considering buying one, would you recommend it?

  • yes

  • Are there any big downsides to this laptop?

  • the touchscreen isn't as good as if it were capacitive but the only one that has capacitive touch is the Dell Latitude XT

  • Thanks.

  • can you explain me what is that "capacitive" feature? =/

  • magnetic field over screen instead of a thin membrane which is unresponsive to light touch and makes screen grainy.

  • I'm a classical guitarist. I use them to pick.

  • oh really.. cool i play electric guitar... i shouldve thought of that.

  • sweet thanks

  • wow thank you so much for the review. can you disable finger touch mode but keep the pen enabled?

  • yes.

  • i find that mine run EXTREMELY hot i thought everyone was exaggerating

i only got it a wk ago.i would like to know how to adjust the cpu setting so that it doesnt clock at its fullest and run this hot

    i have the 2510us btw

  • he has Windows Vista Home Premium (2:03) 64 bit

  • When I try to make the fingerprint reader make a new logon with digsby it says its not a logon screen. How'd you get your's to work?

  • idk.... try logging out then swiping your finger when the screen comes up and manually doing the fields.

  • did you have 64 or 32 bit and what do you suggest

  • Thank you for the great reviews they are pretty helpful. I have a question though, i recently purchased a Tx 2500 and im getting a flickering noise whenever im listening to a cd, video or anything with sound? Did yous do this at all? If so would you know how to fix the problem? It isnt because the speakers are ripped i think its the sound chip?

  • To fix this go to control panel and open up the device manager. Go to your wireless card.

Open properties and go to advanced. Disable "A" band.

    that will fix problem.

  • Oh ok i think i got it to work! Thank you i appreciate it. Do you know if i were to also disable B band would it help the sound better?

  • No. It's A band that messes up sound.

    Regards,

    raiden72

  • I disabled A band but i still get a little flickering here and there but it isnt that bad. Jus wondering if yours does this ?

  • idk... make sure you're in "high performance" power mode...

  • Hi i had a question about the sound again. The sound does a little flick here and there but it is pretty suddle and it doesnt happen that much, just wondering if this was normal? If not is there a way to help it?

  • Disable "A" band on wireless card to fix sound. Google it.

  • thanks...i just ordered one and this really helped

    F.Y.I: clip your fingernails =)

  • FYI classical guitarist.

  • what progran does the webcam use? IS it funcam?

  • "youcam"

  • Okey i have one question can you set up a foulder to require a finger print to open

  • with extra software yes.

  • Thx

  • actually do you know where i can get the software

  • Not really. You need to find any software that would encrypt a folder with a password. Then when you have the password window open use the fingerprint software already on there to fill it out with your fingerprint.

  • If you pause at 46 seconds you will see it say HP Pavilion tx 2000. Wheres the tx 2500 overview?

  • Nevermind, I found out that the HP 2500z has the tx 2000 label but w/ diff graphics card.

  • i had this laptop. until somebody broke into my house and stole it. but for some reason they didnt steal my xbox 360, ps2, xbox, or game cube O_O..

i loved that laptop. i wish i had it again =[

  • Dude that sucks so much!

I feel for you. Mine is on a kensington lock 99% of the time at my desk.

  • that sucks. you know what. everybody in my family thinks its my brother who stole it. because he had the keys to my house that day. and when i got home from school. it was gone. i was like. wtf?! i flipped out man. aahhha;lsdkjf;alsdjf

  • damn dude id cry so hard hey.

my tx2500 arrives in 2 days and after hearing your story i might buy a firearm.

  • yeah dude i was so pissed, i broke my closet door with one punch, i didnt know i could do it and i didnt mean to haha. and yeah i recommend you buy some kind of alarm for your home or something. i got one. and i got like 4 locks on my door. just in case lol

  • it's kinda unrealistic to expect money for something i can already find both all over youtube and all over the net....for free.

maybe you weren't serious, but it sounds serious so i'm just assuming you are....:S

  • I do more hands-on reviews; I'm not expecting any money. They are "donations" and should be treated as such.

So far they're the only tx2500z overviews on the net. They're free. You don't have to pay, so why question what other people may do with their money?

  • I would like to thank you for the reviews and I hope you are getting some donations :)

  • Enjoy your $-1000 you payed for the brand name.

I can buy a $1000 notebook and install Leopard on it and it will be the same as a $2000 MAC.

  • i see nothing wrong with vista i dont know why everyone hates it

  • because haters usually run less than 2Gb of ram. 2Gb is a minim with vista ;-).

  • let me ask a stupid question...what is an infared sensor for?

  • it's for a remote. you can watch movies and lay in bed or whatever. it's ballin.

  • do u have any idea of what it is worth in AU$??i live in australia and am looking at purchasing one but all of the stores list it at different prices so i am confused!!

  • Nope... but things from America generally tend to be really expensive in Aussie as far as I remember...

  • darn i new i should of bought it earlier, o well its only 200mhz

  • 2.4 dualcore? the hpshop site only has up to 2.2...whered you get yours?

  • 2.4ghz sold out.

  • I hear the lid covering is very flimsy, and it bends easily (with the monitor!). Also, if you press onto it, it will make a distortion on the screen. Is this correct? How bad is it actually? They say that it's the worst tablet laptop in the industry for that (or really bad), but I'd like to if it's just a minor thing to get used to. BTW, love the videos, I subscribed and favorited your videos!

  • The lid covering is a bit flimsy, yes. I'd guess it's to cut down on weight more or less.

I don't think it'll get in the way in the future though. I pressed down on several places, but none distorted the screen.

  • Thank you! Im thinking of buying one and I've been searching forever for someone to show me the ins and outs of the system. :)

  • i saw it at he store an the screen looked kinda grainy and really reflective idk is it always like that? and would you advice it over Toshiba M700 im debating between those two

  • HP TX2500Z FTW!

  • definitely the tx2500z. It's excellent through and through.

  • Guy, Im a newb at video card deciding, so may you please suggest me something.

Which video card is better for THIS (Tx2500z) tablet?

ATI RADEON HD3200 or NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150

    Thanks,

    Khraibet

  • Definitely the Radeon HD3200, it's the only video card that ships with the tx2500.

  • Oh, then howcome (im in canada) future shop sells a bundle with the Nvidia GeForce Go 6150? Please Advise

  • The tx2500z ONLY comes with ATI Radeon 3200. The tx2000's that they're selling come with nvidia cards. They are previous generations but still have tx2000 on the front. Get the tx2500z. It comes with ATI. If you see one with nvidia, it's a tx2000.

  • im recieving my tx2500z next week, its like im dieing here waiting to get my dirty hands on it. love the vids, cant wait for # 3.

  • can the tablet work with msword? if so, do u need any extra software to do that?

  • Of course it works with msword. Have you ever used a computer that ran vista and didn't? (you can both use handwriting recognition and the keyboard)

  • does it only have one hard drive?

  • Yes.

  • Can you show us videos of you playing some games on it (spec. Team Fortress 2 and World of Warcraft if you have them) thanks.

  • My internet has been down for past few days. At starbucks catching up right now. Will upload 3rd video with bunch of features and gameplay soon as I get internet back up.

  • Bro, when you zoomed it said "HP tx 2000" how come your saying its tx2500?

  • The tx2500 is the recent update of the tx2000. It is still a tx2000, just the newest version.

  • As sirgecko said, all tx2500z's will have a "tx2000" label on them because they are still in the product line of the tx2000's. They just have different core features such as AMD's Puma platform.

  • Is it better to have 2.4 ghz?

Previous model logged 132 degree heat when placed on thigh. How's tx2500z?

  • It's good to have the 2.4ghz for when you need it. You can lower the processor settings a bit with Windows power options (and that makes it run cooler, while saving power).

Yes it does run really hot when 100% full cpu. I prefer to keep it at 90% max (software controlled).

  • I don't see 2.4GHz available online or the HP customizer, only up to 2.2GHz as far as I see - did you get a special config system for review or a commercial config or something?

  • 2.0ghz is just fine ;)

  • So even at 90% - what's the deal....is it too hot to hold? Is it too heavy to hold for a long time? Can you run Media Center when it is in tablet mode? It looks kinda thick....

Thanks. I appreciate it, good video review.

    Cut your fingernails. LOL.

  • It's not very thick at all. As long as it's in widescreen resolution, it can run media center. It's not too heavy, it's about 4 pounds I'd say. It's not too hot. If it does get too hot (which almost never happens), I just put it in power saver mode.

  • nice video. when do you plan to release the third one?

  • dude great video I would love to get one but I have to use a MacBook for school. But I will favorite this one great job.

  • I haven't really seen any on-the-surface way to do fingerprints for websites; it's just mainly for programs with login screens.

E.G. It detected Starcraft Brood War's battlenet login screen and lets me login with fingerprint even though it's an old program, but I don't know if there's an addon that firefox has to integrate the fingerprint thing in for websites.

I'll be sure to let you know if I find anything though.

  • I may be wrong but isn't the highest processor you can get 2.2 GHz for this model? I checked the HP site to customize it and it only has 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 GHz available.

  • They had 2.4ghz models available for a short time but they went out of stock really quickly. The ZM-86 processor is rare.

They'll probably allow the buying of more 2.4ghz models when they get more in stock.

  • Didn't see this response b4.. OK then just 2.2GHz readily avail...
