@JoleneSugarbaker Goodwill.... goodwill.... I should check out my local Goodwill... Been trying for a stand mixer like that. Even a "boring color" would be OK :O
@prettycountrygal I don't think they would survive freezing.... I'm not really sure how long it's safe to keep them either... day or two at max... the salt is there and will kill bacteria from growing... but... I'm not sure of the shelf life....
@clinicallydiagnosed The Liquor might break down the Marshmallow Goo... Perhaps a Chocolate Extract will work better.. If you're into experimenting and don't mind loosing a batch (i test things a lot and they sometimes fail) give it a try and let me know!
You started doing your makeup differently, lovely! I think I would have used a powdered pizza cutter to cut. What about the vanilla, was it white (clear) vanilla?
@thistlerocks I use two different types of Vanilla, neither are clear... One is from Sauer's.... the other my Chilhood Pharmacist (now retired) makes for me.....I would use the Vanilla that tastes best to you.. the color shouldn't change things....even when just making Vanilla flavored ones, I don't notice a different color...
my 10 yr old son watched this episode with me this evening and guess what we are making tomarrow!! But how can you make them if you only have a hand mixer? 15 min. seems like such a lonnnng time to hold a mixer...???
@bettypro It might break your hand mixer :) But you can give it a try :) The mixture gets VERY sticky and thick, and you need to make sure that it keeps moving and mixing..... Good Luck!
thanks for that cool recipe. I have made marshmallows before but your recipe looks much easier than the one I tried before. If I made these orange ones it would be fun to decorate them with the kids for Halloween. For the summer maybe I will do a watermelon flavor and make it pink!- I will use black icing for the 'seeds'
Im a straight man. And I even liked this. Great video.

I always wondered how marshmallows were made!! I bet rice krispie treats would be so much better with home made marshmallows!
Do you think cookie cutters would work for cutting into shapes??

In weight, how much is each package of gelatin?

I formerly heard that having Circus Peanuts in Cheerios was the source of Lucky Charms, the first marshmallow cereal.
