It has nothing to do with scheduled broadcasts either. It has to do with the fcc not being able to regulate an international outlet such as the internet, whereas our television and radio stations are a national outlet. Plus, if you were to try and regulate the internet, it would cost trillions of dollars.

The FCC was founded to regulate television and radio public boadcasts. They have no jurisdiction over private broadcasting. It would be like telling us what we can and cannot say over the telephone. The FCC could regulate the internet as easily as they regulate television & radio but they don't have the warrant to do so since it's not within FCC jurisdiction. It's private exchange, the users regulate their networks and their nodes so there is no need for the FCC anyway.
